Sub 3 second 0-60 mph is very impressive for a stock, naturally aspirated sportscar on street tires on an unprepped surface. The most impressive part is the starting price for that type of performance.

The engineers have done a great job matching the torque peak with the 8 speed dual clutch. Otherwise, is total acceleration is poor. Look at the blown version, the Camaro ZL1-1LE vs the Shelby GT500. To 100 mph, the Mustang beats the Camaro by ,1 second. When the GT500 reaches 160 mph, the Camaro is 5 seconds behind. It's all because of the 1954 design with pushrod-activated non-crossflow two-valve heads. Very flow restricted, as is the C8. But the new Chevy DOHC engine will solve this problem.

Stanny1 That’s not an accurate reason of why the gap is created. The ZL1 can either beat of tie the GT500 in the quarter mile. By the time that passes, the 110 plus HP gap in the two cars shows up. Plus in the 1lE trim it has more downforce areo that creates drag. That’s where the old racing saying comes into play of torque gets you there, HP keeps you there. The LSX/ LTX heads flow like nobody’s business. If GM (which it looks like they won’t) put the LT5 from the ZR1 in the Camaro, it would trash the GT500 in all tests because the HP gap would only be 5 hp.

2.8 is the quickest I’ve seen so far 0-60 without any mods putting the car in competitive drive mode. That is awesome.

Also one of the few if not the only I’ve seen put the car into competitive mode.
This car is very impressive. And it's a base car. Imagine more powerful versions.

I wish i could get the C8 but you cant get anything for the C7 s now.. I paid 72k for my 2016 and i went to see what trade was on it about a year ago with 3k miles and i was floored by what they said.. 47k insane .. so i'm stuck with this one .. but love seeing you out buying all the best american muscle out there.. your living life to the fullest for your age brother.. IM 54 yrs old and didn't get a corvette till i was 50 and only then because of a accident i was in , in 2014 that almost killed me. so i got a decent amount of money for that but have some extra titanium parts to live with the rest of my life. but i got a vet out of the deal.. so respect to you sir.. keep doing what you're doing.. love it..

I think you are the first person I've seen that even knows theres Competitive Mode on the C8. And I think the only person so far that seems to have nailed the 2.8 second 0-60 claim by MT.

No one on RUclips had even got a 3 second flat yet that I know of with the Z51 package...and that was supposed to be what the base C8 could do.
I got 2.8 in my 2024 1LT. But we know that the dash timer is not as accurate as a draggy time... 2.8 on the dash timer is more like 3-3.2 on draggy

You need to change the title to 2.8 secs though, I didnt see any 2 sec flat times...would take alot more than 500 hp to achieve 2 sec flat, thats for sure.
Skip741 x ....even with a lot more power 2 seconds would likely not be achieved because of traction issues. Even with 700-800 hp The car Would likely need to be all wheel drive to hit 2 seconds. There is no production car in the world that does 2 seconds flat, although the AWD porsche 918 recorded 2.1.

You should have ran a 1/4 as well or was that 1/8 mile dragstrip?
Obviously would normally want windows full up now passenger no extra weight for best times and no idea altitude there . Of course NA cars affected a lot by altitude .

Personally, I like the OEM rims. It is difficult for me to believe that any aftermarket company can improve the structure and durability over hundreds of the best engineers at General Motors.

GM did such an amazing job with this car. It's 100% driver's car. It's worth 100k out the door all day for the Z51. The Z06 is going to be insane.
