You don't need to be defensive. You provide a wonderul, honest, humorous and informative role in depleting my income. I'm happy to support you. Get well soon
Really looking forward to those demos. They look quite sturdy and cool. Love me some quality budget gear!
Thanks man, can't wait to see the upcoming reviews.
I can't wait to hear your review and demo of these new TC pedals.
I'm happy Rush is known outside of Canada! Might have to get that pedal haha
Great work as always. Keep it up.
Can't wait to hear how these sound
The real question is: Is this Behringer making tc pedals affordable with their manufacturing and supply infrastructure or Behringer using the tc name to make more money with their own mediocre designs?
According to Thor at TC Electronics, Behringer asked him to discontinue a large portion of the Behringer pedal line. Thor listened to the pedals and decided many of them (not all) were actually pretty good, but they needed some small sonic tweaks here and there and proper enclosures. He shared this idea with Behringer and they liked it... and thus was born this line of affordable TC pedals. So yes they are based on Behringer pedals (which are themselves clones of classic pedals), but they are not exactly the same. But importantly, this was Thor at TC's idea; it was not a case of Behringer forcing TC to sell products they don't believe in. Yes, I know I'm responding to something three years old, which is clear evidence that I have mental problems. I'm really trying to avoid working on a big project right now!
Hoping you are well soon Henning!
You cracked me up with the rush joke. 😂. I love watching your videos. You're like the German bald Rob Chapman. And I love it.
I bought 3 of these pedals after watching your reviews. Dude. Dude! Omg I love these. I bought the tube pilot, the magus distortion and rusty fuzz. Wow!!! And I use a fender blues deluxe tube amp and I have a deluxe strat, an f scroll mando body semi hollow cosey that’s my ultimate blues guitar and an epiphone les Paul style that is badass. Been learning to play 11 months now. I’m rocking now!!!
I‘ve bought the Tube Pilot from this pedal series. Great sound!
thanks for ALL YOUR JOB and for being that honest in the first part of the video, I really appreciate that.
you are fucking amazing making reviews and explaining all these things, so PLEASE, keep doing that on your way!
Love the video Henning, you crack me up. Keep it real man
Feel better soon, Henning.
The casings of these pedals remind me of the pocket series pedals by Palmer. They are also very affordable, could there be a connection?
Also really curious about that Grand Magus distortion pedal.
I appreciate your honesty about the finance situation. No one should be questioning your intentions just because you would like to get paid to do your job. Regardless of whether you bought gear at full price or not. You're not holding a gun to their head and saying "Give me your money"....or worse yet "Give me your pedals, amps, and guitars. ALL OF THEM!!!" lol
Thanks for the video. I think I might replace some of my Behringer pedals with these.
Hey Henning. I hope you feel better soon. Make sure you look after yourself.
I enjoy your videos! Cannot afford to donate money, but I subscribe and like and comment. :)
Mostly I appreciate your sense of humor! Keep doing what you do. Remember it's the art that will last. Money will not. I'm watching this video almost two years later! Amazing isn't it?
ich bin richtig gespannt auf die sound demos. :) richtig lust drauf.
Because of your reviews i now use a Joyo Quattro Delay and some other pedals from Harley B. and TC. And i am VERY happy with everthing. Thanx!! By the way, i know Tom Sawyer....
i cant wait to your demo sir.
Great video!!
Thank you sir!!
"Pinky and the Brain" theme! Great memory... you put a smile on my face, which hasn't happened often since Nov. 8! ;)
Dean Teiwaz thanks... I know exactly what you mean...
great unboxing! individual videos should be next, ☺
Looking forward to your reviews of these as they fit right into my budget (ie I am poor) really like the look of them too.
I want the Thunderstorm flanger to be good as I don't have a flanger yet.
I have a couple of behringer pedals and they are not as bad as people make out also have a TC Mojomojo pedal which I love and is also built to last, feels much more expensive than it was.
Cheeky I know, but could you perhaps compare the new distortions to the old TC Dark Matter would be interesting to see how they stand up to each other, and you did say such nice things about the Dark Matter.
And get well soon, don't want you fainting mid demo now do we.
I like the "I TURN THE BIG KNOOOOB" on my Magus because I can go from distortion to fuzz just rolling the knob with my foot lol
I'm thinking of getting the Skysurfer and hopefully I'll be able to do the same with the size of the reverb
Get well man! :)
These pedals are absolutely amazing. I will be buy at least 1 of each rather I would use it or not just because (at the price) why the hell not. If you time it right Guitar Center uses these as sale items all the time. Black Friday most of them were on sale for $29.99. I only got 3 at the time and now I want the rest of them. Just waiting for the next sale because I am just that cheap.
Also, on the boss flangers ( and I guess the mxr.. which are black/grey), manual decides the peak of the wave within it's span, so if you have a longer "rise" or " fall" so to speak.
re: compressors - I was one of the many guitar players that knew the 'gist' of compressors, i.e. basically making soft tones louder and loud tones softer, but really didn't know how to apply that in 'real life'... that is, until I heard Dan from "That Pedal Show" say one sentence: "the compressor is the overdrive for your clean tone." and all of a sudden, it made sense.
tony93666 the episode they just put out on clean tones was a revelation
Evan AuCoin one of my *favorite* shows! I want Dan's Tele... but he loves it so I have to buy my own. LOL
I know this is an old comment, but this is a pretty cool explanation. I'll keep that in mind when I'm talking with people who don't understand them lol
Can't wait for the echobrain review
Despite larger shape, they can pack in tighter on a pedalboard due to input/output being on the top.
11 of 13 are supposed to be old Behringer pedals that TC have updated with better components and shit. Making them more TC than Behringer I suppose. The Rush Booster and Fangs Metal Distortion are the only ones not beeing Behringer updates according to Tore.
Josh Parker aaahhhh, that explains quite a bit!
I know, but hey. I don't think TC have come out with anything really bad for ages and it would really surprise me if they didn't improve the Behringershit in the process. For starters, no more plastic boxes that will break =) TC also produced some pedals that sound really good at really low prices, Wasn't the Dark Matter and MojoMojo released for something like 40-50 Euro a couple of years back? That run and your demo of it actually made me run off and buy the MojoMojo =D
BTW great vidoes man, even my non-guitar-playing wife sometimes asks when I watch YT demos why I'm not watching the crazy german. She seem to like listen to you rambling on =D
So is the blackstar thing still happening?
You have to look at a flanger like a modulated delay with really short delay times.
Feedback: As in a normal delay pedal /fx it makes the decay last longer (for the lfanger it results in more severe resonant tones)
Manual: Is the actualy delay time as a starting point, so you can have it in lower frequencies or only effect the high ones.
Depth and Speed controls are usualy just the LFO. I think that is selfexplanitory.
Ohh and I didn't study sounddesign lol.
flangars are kind of similar to delays and choruses with how you should approach settings
When will you be doing a review on the afterglow ?
BTW. you said sth about joyo, and could you say - which of the joyos DIRT (overdiv/dist/sthlikethat) pedals is MOST awesome in your opinion? im really REALLY curious if you think close way to me ;D
Henning, I couldn't resist replying to your comments on compressors. I have used compressors regularly for many years, and have probably owned 20+. Some very good, some not so good. (The TC Hypergravity was not one of my favorites - at higher compression settings I found it to be "notchy" - not smooth release at all.) My current favorite guitar compressors are made by a British company called Origin Effects. The Cali76-CD and SlideRIG-CD are both on my board now - the most musical guitar compressors I have found so far (not cheap though - they run about $400, and worth every cent!.) I think you would be impressed if you could get your hands on them to review.
when will Come the Review Video of the amp switcher?
Start with the reverb for a demo!
Alright, Tore explained it to me. The 100mA is just a "play it safe" label for what power supply to use, the actual current draw of the Rush is around 15mA (which makes way more sense)
Richard Lainegard thanks Richard... that makes more sense... I wish the wrote the actual mA on there so we can accurately plan our boards.
EytschPi42 agreed, or at the very least specify it in the manuals (which hardly any do)
Henning! Great stuff as always. Do you know if these are new pedal designs or are these just rebranded old Behringer pedals? I know they recently bought TC Electronics/Helicon. Hopefully it's a good match. My only fears are that TC's have been known for being bulletproof, hence their omnipresence on Rig Rundowns. Behringer (and Bugera) not so much so.
Ha you just got to that same point in the video.
thank you for sharing your working knowledge. Can I ask what you actually do with all the equipment you end up accumulating through your demo'ing work? Do you eBay it or keep it all?
Maz Klassa i don't sell it, it is too much of a hassle... at some point I might have to deal with it, it for now it is just piling up nicely.
Get well soon Henning.
We are here because we love you
HP I WAS WAITING SO LONG FOR A QUALITY CONTENT
Did Eytch have COVID back then? November 2019 and just returned from China.
relaxing with a cup of coffee...
At least in the US, you still have to disclose that you were given special pricing. Honestly, if I hear that a company gave special pricing or whatever, and you point out the issues with the device, then I'm fairly impressed that the company wants honest opinions out.
Hey man love your personality and content, would you recommend these pedals for budget guitarcentet is having a deal with 3 of these for 100 I’m thinking of getting the fuzz that afterglow chorus and either the blood moon or the compressed did you ever make a sound demo of these? That’s a big ass turtle at the end there never seen that one that big before anyways thanks for your content have a great day
I have reviews for all of them!
Henning you know that I respect and am thankful for all you do on your channel. I could care less how much you pay for gear and am happy if you get a good deal on it. I am very glad that companies make arrangements for you get gear to do their public relations. I know you will be honest with us. I appreciate that we get this for free and you deserve to be paid. Companies are stupid if they don't let you be honest, it's called R&D. It's a low price for them to pay to improve their products. Also, viewers who are complaining need to get a life. You have every right to get paid, however you get the money. Thanks again for all you do! I hope you feel better soon! Coffee is good and tasty too!
hey Henning this is Dave, thank you so much for the unboxing session. I think TC should call it the budget series that way Young Musicians can have something they can afford and still sound good. What do you think?
TC ELECTRIC
Looks pretty promising for €50. Curious onto how they sound on synthesizer.
I doubt that label of 100mA on the Booster is actual current draw, seems about 10x too high for any analog booster. Hell, why even bother making room for a battery in that case, would last roughly 5 hours at that draw. Mind clarifying this with TC for us?
You should check out some Bugera's Henning, I think they are very good for the price.
Hi, really like your channel, as weird as it's, would be nice if you could make also like top list, ie best joyo pedals, best budget overdrive pedal, best chorus, something like that, obviously in your opinion and your taste
"All" toneprint pedals are digital, but not all hammerhead shape pedals are. Anyway, good video and great job as always ;-)
TC has done a power supply! They had the TC10 under CIOKS for a while. Wonder where that went.
the earlier MXR choruses were yellow
aaaah, you are right, thanks !
Though, now the new analog chorus is blue
David Chamberlain Are you talking about the Stereo Chorus?
"These knobs are huge"
hi. auf der Seite von tc sind die genauen Amperezahlen... magnus braucht nur 12mA.... also echt sehr wenig
From my understanding, these TC pedals are a Guitar Center "exclusive" here in the states. I know that's the only place I've seen them.
Can we get a link to the Patreon? It's not in the description!
Dogs do love tremolo
Pinky & The Brain! Love it
It's "Le Delay" ;)
But it is "La Reverb", "La distorsion", "La Wah"
You never know ! There's no rule you can't guess !
and le booster, le chorus, le flanger but la fuzz... and then there's overdrive for which we French people can't decide whether it's feminine or masculine!
So its "l'overdrive" !
Hermel J. I personally thinks its feminine ;)
If Behringer are smart they let TC do what they can do best - make quality stuff - and just back them with their production capabilities and market force and thus make it really affordable. And judging from the pedals it seems they want to go that route.
It hurts to see a lack of enthusiasm after opening a box with bunch of pedals. It is so sad. Anyways, get well soon HP!
Going to do a vid on that ibanez tele?
Yes, that is coming soon!
Yo, we have the same first name. I never thought I’d find someone else with my name
Ey to young for Tom Sawyer !? I'm 17 and I've seen Rush live twice, best band ever!
16:15 Skylanders is indeed a kid's console game series, haven't played it myself. I do know the guys behind it also made Star Control and Star Control 2, which belongs on everyone's short list of Best Videogames of All Time, and before that they made the Archon games for Commodore 64. /geektangent
So the guitars on the wall aren't all strictly yours, but from companies so they can be in your video. Or did you just get them at reduced price for that reason?
My mate is a sound guy at a local venue and he just got a new Behringer mixing desk, he's so excited. Loves the shit out of it.
Most of the guitars are mine... remember, I have been playing for 26 years and have been collecting gear all this time... but some are just parked here so I can use them... others I have bought at a great price so that I can show them in my videos...
like the Murple...
The reverb should have been made with 2 inputs and 2 outputs (2 independent channels that don't blend together). Maybe they want to sell more Halls of Fame, cause with the Skysurfer price, the price of 2 Skysurfers gets close to the price of a Hall of Fame and then people are pushed to think about buying the Hall of Fame. But then, we listen to videos of Behringer stereo reverb pedals and Biyang and put them all side by side to compare before buying.
I watched that tc electronic live video about the flashback delays and watched them say that they have altered the interactivity of the delay time to avoid pitch shifting, what, as somebody who likes all of the odd things about those vintage equipments, made me still want analog delays that behave just like analog delays (more towards ehx interactivity). Not that I wouldn't want a flashback delay, but I would want it as digital delay and another one as analog delay.
Anyway, sorry for the excess of text.
Nice video, Henning. Get better from the sickness soon.
(as a matter of fact, I am having problems with rhinitis too, caused by the season weather changing, and all those clock, temperature, light, air pressure changes that alters how we sleep during the night and how we wake up in the morning)
Cheers!!!
Luke
TC Electronic has sold their soul.
No one should complain about your (or anyone else's) Patreon account - you provide unique content, for free consumption. If people don't like it they don't have to contribute.
Behringer bought TC? :O we will se if this cheap pedal thing was a good choice.(I think it is)
PD. I was really into fast demos (3 minutes max) but now I really enjoy your demos, it's like be there talking with a dude about pedals.
Dan Rodriguez it was at least a year ago or more, and it's not actually Behringer, but rather the same huge company that owns Behringer and many others (same CEO though). And Tore of TC has said that they give TC complete creative control and freedom, so really nothing has changed, just that they have financial security and access to even more talent in the now huge organization (just like when Yamaha bought Line 6)
Please review the forcefield first ! :)
Here is... not only the coffee...
You are so cool man :)
i'm really curious about the fuzz. i've seen the TC videos but they sucked.
I understand that joyo makes some decent pedals but what I would really like to see (maybe you have already done a video on this or something and I missed it) anyways I would really like to see you not just review the pedals on what they do and how well they do it. but even the sound quality of the pedals. Example would be what the pedal does to your signal. does it add hiss, does it make your signal quieter when it is in your chain or turned on. and even compare it to standard pedals that are more house hold names like Boss or something. I have always wanted to buy a few of their pedals but have a fear of doing so from past experiences of pedals (some being cheaper) that do a good job at the function they are supposed to to (chorus, octave, whatever) but they make my signal quieter or add signal noise as soon as they are in my chain
J K I never understand these questions, I am sorry... isn't that what the review that I am making is for? People ask me: Is it noisy and the things you wanted to know... but you can hear what I am hearing. Are you hearing noise in my video? If not, then there is none. Does the level go down when I turn on the pedal? If not, then there is no volume change. And if a pedal has drastic effects like those, you can be sure that I mention them. In my experience, the Joyo pedals behave like any other pedal in any price range. Some sound phenomenally good for their money, others are just ok, some are not good at all... really depends on what you are looking for.
TC electronics calls it the smorgasbord series.
Pinky and the brain reference for the win
15:30 The answer to your question is a gut-shot. Don't forget to show us what is inside when you demo them.
Yep these are remade old Behringer pedals
I love you!
You should take suplements like calcium and magnesium :) You're drinking a lot of coffee so you should take some :)
thanks Mike... i am taking that stuff in the morning...
@ 5:47 “oh, those are big... big packages...”
That’s what she said!
Metal with a pedal? Im doing an oldschool metal zone review.
did he just talk trash about the dog on my tremolo pedal?!
"Huge, I say HUGE! ... let's not go there, that's a very depressing issue."
You should really work on SEO for the Joyo website. I can tell it's still in construction but while I was looking for info on the Mjolnir I got mostly links to reverb.com.
Please explain SEO, I don't know what that is.
Search engine optimization - but when I search them (searched for joyo pedals), JOYO Audio shows up way before Reverb.
When I search joyo Mjolnir, reverb shows up way ahead of joyo.
There are tons of guides online and it's relatively easy to do as long as you follow some basic guidelines.
Search Engine Optimization. Some tweaks you have to do on your website or related social media in order to rank the site higer on google, that it appears in the first search results on top, when searching for special keywords (especially brand and product names)
Thanks...
the amp website is totally new and there are many new products that need to go on it. I am working with a ad agency that can help me with the optimization.... I know nothing about this stuff.... we'll get there.. it is a process.
lucky bastard
you rule...
Henning wegen Purpel haze von hendrix sind die meisten Flanger purpel... i thing ...(?)!?)
Are you from Denmark 😆
