    Hello I did this video without a script so I guess I didn’t communicate this well but I’m not saying that what Colleen did isn’t grooming, I’m just saying it’s not grooming in the “traditional” sense which she definitely tried to use to her advantage in her argument. Sorry I should have communicated that better lol like I said I don’t do this off the cuff shit that often.

    • @Unfortunately_Mickey
      @Unfortunately_Mickey Год назад +35

      I definitely understand what you meant and where you were coming from. The reason people probably have to qualify it a bit more is because it’s really wild how much people that like her are trying to say it’s not grooming because she didn’t try to have sex with them even though she gave her brother access to her fans and he DID (allegedly) sexually groom them, and making a child sexually uncomfortable in any fashion is a problem and she did that too.

      I'm glad you clarified, because not gonna lie, you were beginning to sound like a groomer sympathizer. It really doesn't matter if she's somehow stunted or not. She's a grown woman who was talking to minors explicitly. And that's universally not okay, so she should have known better.

    • @kaylasays
      @kaylasays  Год назад +29

      @@itsargyle I just spent 12 minutes shitting on this apology and explaining that what she did was wrong and you're calling me a groomer sympathizer? Obviously what she did was wrong and she should have known better but yeah, she is emotionally stunted, and that's evident by the fact that in the song, *she* says she's not going to admit to any fault. Sorry this is a wild fucking comment lmao

    Regarding whether she deserves her title of Groomleen - Grooming IS NOT inherently sexual. It is a TACTIC of systematic desensitisation to gain trust and slowly erode any boundaries. It is used to illicit compliance and evade detection and is really common among all kinds of abusers. So yes, you can be groomed without being SAd.

    Hey, I’m already a fan of your content, but I was genuinely impressed with how nuanced your take on the situation was and how articulate you were. I agree with pretty much all of your opinions, especially that - to her - she probably genuinely doesn’t think she’s done anything wrong; she didn’t have the same chance to mature as other people as she was stuck in an independent, largely child centric bubble. That’s obviously not an excuse, she’s an adult and should realize whether or not her intentions were malicious or ignorant doesn’t matter, outcome matters.

      She was 30 when all this happened. If at 30 you don’t realize talking sexually to a kid at 15 is wrong, you need to be on the s o register. That’s just a no brainer. Teachers are around kids all day and don’t talk about their sex lives with their students.

    This is a case study of internet culture, I'm not even kidding.
    Colleen know where she's at, she knows how the internet works, and instead of apologizing for her fans and giving them closure, she decided to do her own move on the cancellation game.
    This is the kind of things that could only be pulled off after years of observing internet behaviour, how people treat those that are being cancelled, how the one who is on the spot responds to that, and what happens after all is said and done.
    We know one thing: Colleen did something NO ONE EVER did before, she was smart as hell for that. It's like she's playing chess and just did the most absurd move ever, and we are going to witness what that leads to.
    I wasn't paying too much attention to this, but now I will be obsessed, this is the kind of stuff that give us more insight to internet culture. And I really wanna see how this is gonna turn out.
    She really didn't lie when she mentioned that at least we are being entertained, and she just decided to put the clown attire and give us a show.
    This is gonna go down in internet history.

    "Grooming is when a person builds a relationship with a child, young person or an adult who's at risk so they can abuse them and manipulate them into doing things.
    The abuse is usually sexual or financial, but it can also include other illegal acts.
    Grooming can take place online or in person and it can happen over a short or long period of time - from days to years."
