OVERALL SUMMARY
I made these videos to document my experience eating a diet termed the “Lion Diet” by Mikhaila Peterson, daughter of Jordan Peterson, who introduced this diet to my thinking. Lion Diet is a strict version of the Carnivore diet that only allows for ruminant meat, salt, and water. I am not a nutrition expert or doctor, but I hope you will find my story enjoyable and informational.

As a nurse, working all kinds of shifts, I developed a huge coffee addiction. I quit over 4 months ago. Mostly to get rid of oxalates, to reduce my oxalates, and to improve sleep. I feel so much better now! Not chasing the highs and lows all day long.
But coffee drinkers live longer there have been studies.
Coffee is not for everyone though. I did not know about the oxalates .
Oxalates!? I had no idea. I drink two cups of coffee a day but none on the weekend. I drank three cups a day this past week and had stomach pain by Friday afternoon so, no more coffee!
@@underated17 But who funded the studies? Folgers?
@@underated17there are zero random control trials to prove coffee makes us live longer. It’s a plant toxin. On carnivore, I don’t need the boost. I’m still dumping oxalates from drinking so dang much coffee
I know a nurse that will eat a spoonful of instant coffee😳
Having a hot cup of coffee right now, calming to me sitting in my garden and retired enjoying life.
Try mushroom or cacao coffee as a placebo
I was a floater in a hospital. For 7 months. It was terrible. Especially as I had a kid at home.
It actually led to a depression. I was crying for no reason.
I was 33 at the time.
I couldn't do it now, aged 54.
I just started Carnivore.
I worked shift work for 37 years as a 911 dispatcher. So glad to be retired now. Now, I need to put me first and get into shape.
Went cold turkey on coffee about a yr ago. Was chugging 4-6 cups a day. Get your morning sun! That's nature's coffee. It will change your life 🧬
Thanks for your post. I will try your recommendation :-)
Cold showers are also amazing in the morning.
I live in the UK. What is this morning sun you speak of? 😅😅
@@supercal333 oh yeah.. I like cold showers! Barefoot walking on grass as well.
@@HealthyCarnivoreUK I'm up in the Scottish Highlands...think it's that light bulb hiding behind the clouds that emits no heat..... (I'd love to see a vegan live off the land here, be eating moss, flat weed and heather.....!)
I wake up 3:30am, drink water, 1 or 2, cup of coffee ☕️, I have sympathetic nervous system, Nutrition helps to balance my day, and I have a lot of energy 55 years old 130 pounds healthy. Also I have a sleep routine 😊
I never drink coffee in the afternoon
If I have hot water with lemon, first thing in the morning, I don’t care for any coffee that morning. In fact, I prefer the lemon. Coffee smells so much better.. but lemon water makes me feel so much better, and even more energized!
A few months ago I experimented getting rid of coffee. Over a month I reduced my coffee intake and also would mix decaf with regular so I lowered the caffeine amount. I then quit entirely and stayed off coffee for almost 3 months. I was really hoping to feel a positive change but I felt no benefit at all. I no longer had the caffeine addiction but months later I still wanted my morning cup. Not to meet a chemical addiction but to meet my desire for the ritual.
At some point in the 3rd month I went back to drinking coffee and loved it. Thankfully I do not have any negative effects from drinking coffee so I feel perfectly fine having my cup a day. Occasionally I'll have a 2nd cup but usually it's just once a day.
I think it's good for people to try and see what works, or doesn't work, for them. For me the only benefit I had was saving that 2-3 minutes in the morning to make a cup of coffee and not needing to buy coffee but the enjoyment I get from having the cup was much more valuable to me. I'm 54 now and have been drinking coffee on a daily basis since I was about 15 years old so maybe that's why the ritual is so ingrained in my mind? Either way I'm fine with it.
Pure dependency 😢
Pure enjoyment

I thoroughly enjoy my morning coffee ritual. It's not about the caffeine. It's the hug in a mug. I drink one or two big mugs. That's my total caffeine intake. I get my energy from the carnivore diet. I sleep soundly all night.
Best wishes
Same with me 👍
Sometimes, it's an evening coffee and then off to dream land.
Butter coffee is now my go-to. I still have a hard time just eating plain butter, so this helps. Best wishes❤
I totally understand. I’m 4yrs zero carb Carnivore, probably gave up coffee 3x’s..maybe 6-7 weeks.😂 Now, I wait to have my 1st cup, don’t drink past 4/5PM, noticed I don’t need/drink as much🤷♀️😎
Me too. I whisk butter and MCT in my two cups each morning. No sleep issues 😴
I've been caffeine free for a week now and day 52 carnivore. I like being steady, this is good.
I’ve done the full gamut of caffeinated coffee habits starting with drinking too much, all day long for my job, then I stopped cold turkey and stayed that way for years and years, now I’m back on it with an espresso machine and LOVE my morning Americano, or Espresso Macchiato! It brings me joy! I’m careful to have only up to a few in the morning, never after Noon. I’m happy with the balance I have. ☕️ 🤩💪
I worked 12 hr graveyards (1800 to 0600) for 12 years. When I retired, it took three months to reset my circadian rhythm.
Zsofia Clemens convinced me to finally give up coffee due to a link with auto-immunity. My scalp psoriasis has cleared up.
Dr. Clemens is a neurologist specialized in epilepsy by training. She knows how dangerous caffeine is.
I love watching your podcasts
I have a cup of coffee every morning.
No problems.
Don't need more. Quite often go for months only having hot water in the morning.
The coffee is strong, black and unsweetened
I thought I could cut my one long black organic espresso coffee out each morning, but I find it helps increase the system. As it's winter time here and colder weather, it's nice to have a hot drink option, so I find one coffee is OK and then a dandelion black tea hits the spot of an evening for me in place of coffee and dandelion tea is good for the liver and naturally decaffined plant. If I need more of a caffeinated boost for digestion, I will tend to lean on a green tea later in the day. But generally, pure water is sufficient. At first, when I started a carnivore diet, it seemed I didn't need coffee and perhaps was too strong, but now it feels OK to have one a day. But like many things, this may change later in the future to make just an occasion coffee as opposed to a daily coffee. Carnivore for only 2 and a half months, so it's early days. But what keto diet did for me in 2 years, carnivore diet has done for me in 2 months. Almost at pre baby weight, but still a way to go. Next will be to begin a weight training regime to help increase muscle tone. I wish everyone the very best of good health on this carnivore journey.
been carnivore over 3.5 years
I quit coffee at the 2 yr mark and it was the best thing it was actually quite wild !
doing this carnivore for over 3.5 years !
you and dave mac were inspirations for me to start channel and speaking up after all these years :)
Very interesting and informative. Thank you, Dante.
I have for decades been a full pot of coffee gal. When I was younger, a few pots at least and even espresso after dinner!
I've been on carnivore for only a few months now, and have noticed my reduction, unintentionally. Actually, down to 2-3 cups, but still almost as soon as I wake. I love how my body is changing without stress but rather through its own desire.
Only halfway through the video. This is a healing experience, as that's why I switched from keto.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us here @YT. God bless you and yours.
I just let go of coffee June 5th. Did it as my hard challenge for the summer with Dr. Lisa Wiedeman. So my goal was just for the summer. But after going through withdrawals I don’t want to go back. Like you said, if we don’t need it - it’s good to not be dependent on it. Saves money too! Always enjoy your content!
Yep, I don't want any substance ruling my life like that. Caffeine is a socially acceptable addiction while crack isn't but a junkie is a junkie.
❤”saves money too”
Great vid, I have gone from a pot of coffee a day to one cup and plan to get rid of that this vid helped me make up my mind, thank you. I just want to say, I watch a lot of channels, I have much respect for you and trust the information you give, thanks brother.
I started doing hubermans (morning)routine and it changed everything! Focused, not crashing, alert but calm. And getting so much work done during the day, incredible. I used to think I was just a low energy/easy stressed person who needed a lot of sleep. Turns out I didn’t understand my nervoussystem and hormones. To me hubermans routine and carnivore diet is IT for an optimal life. Thank you for another great video Dante!❤
21:00 yes, that is the look! This is when you know you are learning something new and enriching your life…
It interesting. I used to have 3 cups of coffee just to get up and move in the mornings. Now I don't have coffee every day, but when I do, I is usually 1 cup sometime around 9 or 10 when I get to work, and a lot of times I don't even finish that cup. Now that I watched this video though, I want some coffee!
Awesome isn’t it? 😎👍🏽
This video was great. I am in the process of trying to eliminate coffee. I started reducing my coffee on July 4 and replacing it with decaf. After 10 days I tried going decaf only and extreme fatigue set in. It felt like I was coming down with the flu...caffeine flu. I am going to persevere and I hope to regain my energy soon. But up side is my sleep in improving and that was the whole purpose. Thanks Dante for doing these videos!!
I hope you kick the habit
Decaf made using sugar cane process is delicious. You won't feel like you're missing anything.
Hang in there.
I was tired for 3 solid weeks when I quit coffee.
But on the other side, I wake up naturally before my alarm and have steady energy for my work day.
@@Smart44Lady Thanks for the encouragement. I will keep going. No turning back now.

You are so welcome! Have a great day yourself 😎👍🏽🥩💧🧂
I started BBBE top of this month with the addition of coffee on Sundays. Didn't experience any withdrawal effects. I do have psoriatic arthritis ( no psoriasis - go figure) and on methotrexate. Everything was managed and no swelling, joint paralysis, nothing. Last week major stress happened and I added coffee back in daily. (2 cupsish).
All I can say is PAIN! The swelling has returned and the joints are locked, fatigue and mobility issues. My emergency flare medication is not working and I'm miserable. I can now confirm caffeine or coffee is a problem for me and will cut it out.
I could not find specific studies about coffee and arthritis but there are some about caffeine and arthritis. Not sure how reliable they are but it is a problem for me.
I’m almost 5 years strict carnivore and having one cup of black coffee a morning isn’t going to be unhealthy as far as I can tell.
🥩💧🧂🏋🏼🙏🏼=💪🏼
I so agree! Some people maybe can’t handle it and that’s fine but I think this can all get a little extreme. Oh you can’t have this, you can’t have that. Chill out people.
☕️
Have you tested by abstaining from coffee for a period of time?
Dude black coffee is nectar of the gods…. I don’t know what these nerds are talking about 😂 An if you get anxiety get some decaf green tea for around lunch time with some fish oil an your straight… lmfao some people smoke crack when they wake up 😂 a cup of joe is the way to go
If I don’t have my coffee in the morning I feel no different from when I do have my coffee. I drink it because I just love the taste even just black with butter and heavy cream. So from my experience I can’t tell any Benefit or downside of having or not having it
Normally I have a cup of coffee not too long after I get to work. It takes an hour for me to get to work. I'm usually awake half an hour before I leave so I'm just about 90 to 120 minutes before I have my first cup of coffee. About 50% of the time that's the only cup I have all day. Sometimes I don't have any coffee all day. Interestingly enough I feel about the same energy boost when I go 18 to 24 hours without eating. It provides me a large boost of energy and enhances my mood quite a bit.
My wife started carnivore, after seeing my results, about 6 days ago. She was a caffeine all day person and has struggled with being overweight most of her life and now obesity since giving birth to our children. However, unlike me where I've always preferred black coffee, she's always needed creamer and intense sweet flavoring in any drink where she gets caffeine. She's definitely getting headaches and fatigue because she has vowed to give up all sweet flavors along with all carbohydrates for a minimum of 30 days to try this out. I'm convincing her now to the best of my ability to get her to 90 days. She cannot stand black coffee though I've tried getting her to accept it to limit her suffering to reduce her chances of giving up. Thanks for another great video Dante!
For me caffeine can create anxiety. Which makes sense listening to the video and the relationship to adrenaline.
I have had adrenal burn out for years. It’s under control and seems to be improving with carnivore.
I now have organic decaf coffee once a day in the morning. It’s naturally decaffeinated using pressurised carbonated water. It’s not as good as the real thing, but it’s close enough to enjoy. The good thing is it doesn’t spark off my anxiety.
Also, I don’t have it first thing. I always get up, get dressed and do my dog walk, which typically will be at least an hour long. I then have my coffee as treat when I get home.
You basically explained my life!! Walking the doggies helps delay my caffeine intake also and gets sunshine in my eyes which has such a powerful effect 🎉yay for doing what’s best for our amazing bodies ❤
Watched this as I drank my 2nd first thing in the morning coffee. I use to drink almost 2 pots a day, now down to 2 cups but want to quit, kidney problems and HPB. Just the smell of coffee makes me crave it. Tomorrow morning I will try to wait at least an hour after I wake up before I decide if I want to make some.
The problem on social media is that people get both extremity sides. Too much or nothing of anything.
Moderation will be always the key.
Moderation isn't always the key. If one is f.ex. glutenintolerant they need to cut gluten out of your diet. If one has mental disorders it's very important to know what kind of food/beverage has a disbalancing effect on the nervous system.
"Simple moderation" is only for people who don't have that problem.
Thank you for discussing coffee intake. I drink way too much. Yesterday, I purposely drank less. I'm going to try to keep cutting back each day.
Roasted Chicory root is a good replacement.. or roasted dandelion root. Delicious!!! No caffeine!
I keep a regular schedule even on the weekends. Only once in a while when we go watch a band, it's much later.
Second Comment
I make my own carnivore snacks.
All I do is, buy Carne Picada (chopped beef) from Aldi (1/2 the price per lb of ribeye), salt the daylights out of it using copious amounts of Redmond Real Salt, then toss it into one of my smokers (Texan!) and COLD-smoke it 5 or 6 hours using Mesquite.
That's it. Lasts forever, if you don't gobble it up right away (like I do), satisfies that salty treat craving and it's 100% carnivore.
I also vacuum-seal it in Mason jars just like I do jerky. The only difference is that THIS has not marinated for hours in a marinade brine.
Love Andrew Huberman!! Yes, his videos are long, just listen to them in short bits. There’s full of researched scientific info. background, and, he does his best to explain it to the average person. I find that fascinating. I like to know the “why“ things are happening.
I just did a 55 hour dry fast and haven’t had coffee in a week. I didn’t even get a headache..
Dr. Huberman is becoming a rock star 👍. I use coffee as a pre-workout tool. Two cups mid-day as a pre-workout with glycerol (great for the joints), beta alanine, creatine monohydrate, carnitine, arginine, citrulline malate,... Works awesome 👍 learned this from my CrossFit and powerlifter patients. Tastes bad, but it is all about performance enhancing and health/ wellness support to aid in running that extra mile or adding an extra 10 lbs to a one rep max PR.
Coffee is more to me than caffeine. It's a ritual that I only enjoy once every morning. I like to grind it fresh, brew it, and slowly sip at it as I contemplate how I can serve my purpose for having been given a new day. It's the way I begin my day with a spirit of gratitude.
Coffee is also more than caffeine in terms of anti-nutrients and plant toxins😉
@@DutchCarnivore I fear the Creator, not worldly concerns.
@@patriciaribaric3409wow, I love that!!! Thank you 🙏🏻💕
Is the ritual! But, that can be done with half-caf or decaf.
It’s a plant. No thanks

Not to get off subject but just wondering about your audio video setup. Your video & audio looks and sounds good. Keep up the good work.
I've had bad times with caffeine, I developed schizophrenia at around the age of 37 and maybe some lighter symptoms earlier in life, I had about 4 years off absolute crazyness and was sectioned under the mental health act. I was put on medication which I refused after I got out, as inside the hospital it's forced, I was watching Dr berg videos like two years ago and learned about magnesium and other electrolytes and started taking it as a supplement 375mg a day not for my mental health but for diet/keto, my god the change was unbelievable, my crazyness was gone, brain fog etc. It was like waking from a nightmare and then I could figure out what caused it and finally accept I was/am schizophrenic, the mainstream medicine act like they don't know what causes it but in the 70s the term bread madness was used and gluten intolerance or celiac causes inflammation in the gut and stop the absorption of minerals and magnesium being the key, caffeine also can cause psychosis which is very similar if not the same as schizophrenia. The levels and severity can be very different between individuals, if your celiac and have leaky gut and are eating a poor diet the coffee will just heighten the problem as its a diaretic and you also lose electrolytes, if your healthy on carnivore and not celiac and have minimal coffee you may be OK, but personally I get anxiety and paranoia but has improved drastically. My full symptoms at my very worst were, anxiety, depression, brain fog, insomnia, mood swings, hearing voices, movies and radio speaking to me in real time, paranoid delusions, suicidal thoughts. They don't treat the deficiency which would be so simple a £2 magnesium supplement to begin with, then gluten free keto/carnivore diet and reduce or quit coffee. When I read about gluten and these effects on mental health, I've never been diagnosed as celiac but have had psoriasis all my life and hear numerous times over the years that it is connected to wheat and gluten so I could sort connect the dots. When I was admitted into hospital they give you coffee on tap, help yourself, psychiatric ward for mentally deranged or insane individuals a lot them are in and out every few weeks unfortunately.
Yes, the dehydration caused by caffeine is a big problem especially for those of us with neurological issues. I have had a seizure disorder for decades (now under control with carnivore and no caffeine). I think a lot of carnivore folks as they transition off of carbs are already fighting electrolyte imbalances and having all of those cups of bulletproof coffee doesn't help.
Thanks for sharing
I have a family member and I think this is what happened to them.
They live on sugar and caffeine. ☹️
Caffeine is huge business and imagine the amount of meds that are sold on the back of it, no wonder they try and muddy the water, guess that's what coffee does

Coffee calms me down. I love the taste, it doesn't effect my sleep. But I know many people do not react in the same way as I do to coffee.
Since becoming carnivore, I no longer want coffee. I used to drink 6 cups a day. I've been coffee free for 2 months, I ain't going back.
I quit completely for longevity. I’m 64 and I did not want stimulants in my body anymore. After the experience of purging it, the head pain and such, proves how much it affects the body negatively!
Dante , for your wife, tell her to try this ..try having a cup first thing in the morning of an instant Nescafé decaf to start her morning. Then a little later morning have a cup of regular coffee. I have found that it’s the “ritual of a hot cup of coffee I need” first thing when I wake up, not necessarily the caffeine that I thought I needed.
I can see that. I have found a cup of hot water with a scoop of Re-Lyte fills that ritual void also.
If I ever feel the need for a second cup, it's always decaf.
Hot water with 1/2 teaspoon sea salt is working for me.
I actually like it now.
I got the idea from a RUclips trying Huberman’s routine
Daily rituals in and of themselves are an integral part of the strong appeal of many of our small addictions. Whenever I decide that a substance or behavior needs to be mastered I replace it with a useful or much more innocuous habit at the time that the craving hits me. For the same reason Lent is a perfect time to grapple with any of these issues.
I've done 3rd shift (LPN) and was a zombie 24/7, but had no choice just to get my foot in the door.. No more! I'm retired 😊
Good morning Dante !!! Am early

Having made the switch from keto to carnivore 3 weeks ago has been relatively easy. That being said, I cannot bring myself to give up my 2 cups of morning coffee, which is the only time I allow myself to have a small amount of cream, too. Maybe someday I will decide to quit the coffee, but for now I will keep it!
I can't either,I drink 1 a day. I drink it black, already gave up mostly everything I love 😂
I appreciate you making this video. I’m battling caffeine too. Making progress, but not an easy thing.
I gave up everything and never had problem... but coffee ! seems i cant ! so hard !
@FerrignoFreedom Your new intro is lightning fast 😂
For a time I Worked in London driving double decker buses through some pretty hectic routes. My shift pattern was 22hrs. So for example one week I would start my day at 4 in the morning after an hour travelling into work. The next week I would be finishing my shift at 2.30 in the morning. I swear that I would pass myself some days. Coffee and sugar kept me going until I developed high blood pressure. I drove buses for 12 years until I became so ill I really couldn’t function very well and was on the verge of developing diabetes. I’ve been KETO since Covid but not as strict as I should be, my Doctor recommends that I should eat more brown rice and vegetables!!!! Considering going Carnivore but coffee is still my morning drink that I look forward too. going to be very difficult to give that up too 😢
LOL I have to stop sitting with my coffee early every morning watching these videos! The sun is shining out there - gotta go now - buh bye! Catch you later at dinner :)
I like my hot beverage in the morning too, but hot water with a scoop of Re-Lyte has become my go to over coffee. Good job getting that early morning sun ☀️ 😎👍🏽
I never drank coffee before carnivore. Got talked into it by a couple of people who said it would make fasting easier, and this was then bolstered by one of the fairly well known docs who I happed to get to have an appointment with who said it would be fine as a bridge to get off carbs. I have now started and stopped coffee 4 times in the last 3 years and, for me, it has tended to move things in a bad way every single time. Blood sugars go up, sleep gets worse. I am currently drinking a cup when I get up, and one after my meal mid morning. Need to get back off the coffee and plan on not having any more. The 'extras' just aren't needed. It is funny listening to Andrew saying he needed coffee to work all day, something I have done all my life without coffee. We talk ourselves into all kinds of silly stuff.
I'm 73 and never drank coffee until I went carnivore. I now find I need it for the additional caloreis as I evenly mix 6oz coffee with 6oz heavy whipping cream. I typically drink 1-2 cups in the morning and after one yr have not yet seen any negative effects. I have never been able to eat a large amount of food at one sitting so this helps me get in extra calories.
I used to drink coffee all day too! Then I cut to one cup in morning. Then listening to Dr Lisa Welderman, I quit for a month and felt great. But for listening to Dave Asbey. And ordered Bulletproof coffee. I'm thinking of stopping as soon as I finish it. Isn't doing anything different!
I drink Organic Decaf with lots of organic butter and organic whipping cream. It doesn't bother me at all.
I can have my caffeine in the morning, possibly early afternoon at times. Beyond that I mess up my sleep.
Taking naps messes up my sleep too.
I don't need caffeine daily, but there are times I do. I do limit it though.
I needed to hear this!
Great video. Thanks Dante❤️🥩
The house is looking good! Appreciate you sharing your experience! Wish we could hang out sometime! Keep it real bro!
I have low iron, which is weird considering i eat red meat every day. So I gave up coffee. It apparently can reduce iron uptake.
I heard this same interview and immediately tried the waiting 90 minites before my first cup, and it did work.
I still want to give it up completely, but this helps while I taper down.
Starting to feel like the days I have coffee I usually end up drained of energy, and at times I'll choose a triple shot of espresso.. and yes I get energy but then later on I've had bad reactions like dizzyness & feeling like I'm gonna pass out.. so I cut back
The best way to get by without caffeine when you're tired is to do a set of pushups, situps, pullups, or squats, and of course drinking enough water and electrolytes. When I was in the service, we would do a set of pushups, pullups, squats, and some kind of abs work once per hour when we had to stay up all night. It also had the benefit of improving my PT scores lol. Not that we didn't have caffeine too, but we avoided it after a certain time and it can only help so much anyway.
These days at 34 years old, I'm pretty caffeine sensitive (among a variety of service-related ailments lol), so I don't do more than a half-caffeine coffee if I'm out somewhere. At home, I still love the warm tasty cup of coffee with whole milk, so I make it like 5/6 decaf and 1/6 regular or just full decaf and never before I've been awake for at least 90 minutes (that's about how long your body needs to complete its natural waking processes). I don't need it for energy 99% of the time, and I feel much better doing things this way.
If the idea of giving up your coffee makes you mad your are addicted.
I wish YOU the best on your new house and wishing your RUclips channel grows exponentially thus your finances......catch up. I enjoy your channel and your sharing!!!😄😅❤👏👏👏

I love coffee in the morning. 2 cups only. I grind the beans and put through a french press, only enough for 2 cups. If I want more I have to do the process again. It keeps me from drinking more. Im good with that.
WOW great information!!! I love learning new things. Thanks Dante.

I been doing the carnivorous thing for 2 months. I’m thankful for Dunkin midnight dark roast. No donuts,no cream or sugar. Black. Pound an half of grass fed hamburger, pound of butcher shop bacon, a little butter with 3 eggs ( our own farm chicken eggs). Walnuts & water. That’s it.!!! Every day for 2 months….. feeling much better…. Started pretty sad, swollen, crying, hurting…. I cut out all sugar and carbs in the walnuts? This is what I love now couse I feel much better. The food I crave but early on I didn’t want couse I wanted carbs. Once I eat I’m not hungry at all for hours and hours. At 5 am I’m at Dunkin to get the goods.
As of July 28th I hit one year and six months NO coffee or caffeine. Today is the 29th and nobody wants to hear how many days anymore so I just put it in months and years. I was very addicted to coffee and I was always working in retail and I did work in a couple restaurants and I thought I needed to be jacked up all the time. It got to a point lately that I was getting the organic coffee and just eating the seeds. We call them coffee beans they are actually seeds from the coffee cherry. It was hard when I quit, since when I quit I do it cold turkey. I threw out all my coffee and equipment. Now I drink water, and on occasion some rooibos tea that is 100% caffeine free.
I wait an hour before my 1st cup, after listening to Huberman. I’ve noticed getting water in my system first thing in the morning and sticking my head out the window, or being able to stay out on my deck for a little bit with the morning sun has helped cut my caffeine intake
You’re inspiring me man! Thank you!
I’m so glad I can help! Thank you for the support and for watching and commenting! 😎👍🏽🥩💧🧂
When I was young and very fit I didn't drink coffee and I used to get debilitating ocular migraine headaches. I discovered, by accident, that if I had a cup of coffee when a migraine was coming on, I could avoid the headache. So I've been drinking coffee ever since then and I've not had a migraine in 40 years.
Interesting 🤔
@@FerrignoFreedom another great video BTW, thank you!
Yes,Migraine headaches coffee will help, when you go to the hospital for it,caffeine is part of the shot that takes the headaches away and I know because I use to have them and go to the hospital
Caffeine is the main ingredient in Excedrine for migraines. In addition to all the other stuff it does to your body, it is also a vasodilator.
@@robinbeers6689 that's how I discovered caffeine/coffee knocked out migraines. I had a migraine,I ran out of Excedrine and only had money for a cup of coffee. After drinking the coffee the migraine went away just like taking Excedrine. I looked at the ingredients on the empty Excedrine bottle and found caffeine. I don't take Excedrine anymore but I do drink coffee.
Down to 1 cup from 2, from 3. I won’t buy more but I’ll hide a little for now. Thanks for the video- thanks for making lots of them!
Gotta have my wake up ☕ every morning. Evening 🍻 too.
3rd year of my paleo journey ,🏋 HIIT & low carb. Age 69. Am I lucky or in denial?!
My wife has never drank coffee and doesn't drink any caffeinated drinks. She is an accountant and can work 12-14 hours a day without caffeine. I'm thinking about cutting it out completely and seeing how it goes.
Hi Dante. I do wait 20 mins to drink my coffee in the mornings. I'm usually the 1st one in my family to get up (now that I sleep very well on carnivore), so it takes me about that time to get up, use the bathroom, get dress and then go to the kitchen and prepare the coffee machine. I then go watch some weather and daily news until the coffee is ready. I used to drink coffee throughout the day (4 to 6 mugs) but now that I've been carnivore, I only drink one mug in the mornings, and that's it. I do sleep longer now on carnivore than before so this obviously helps not feeling sleepy and more energetic throughout the day and, definitely helped to cut back on my previous dependency on coffee to make it to the end of the day. I can live with a mug a day and had tried going a few days without it. I felt ok so is good to know that I could do it if I need to. Drinking coffee is a choice now and not a 'necessity', like when I was on SAD. Cheers brother!
☕️ 👌 I like the flavor and aroma. I mostly use decaffeinated with about 1/3 regular. I often mix different blends. I read there are many health benefits in the coffee bean.
A few months ago I listened to an Anthony William (medical medium) Video about how Dangerous and addicting coffee is. After that I was so grossed Out that I never touched Coffee again. Had no withdrawals, nothing. Knowing how Dangerous even the harvest of Coffeebeans is, it really helps to completely come Off the Coffee.
Fantastic information. Thank you.
Finally a real person talking about reality new house
The stress of work etc
Thank you
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching and commenting 😎👍🏽
Thanks for your short video, and getting to the point, with our saying the same thing over and over.
My son manages a Panera, fast casual place. Coffee is his best friend. I don’t comment because his hours are insane!! He’s only 20 and makes a good salary.
"...loading up on caffeine..."
I've been fortunate to limit myself to one cup in the morning, and maybe another at 10:30am.
As for the Lion Diet, my personal experience my entire life has been whenever I eat just a steak, no sides, my body seems to digest it well to the point that after a couple hours I'm ravenously hungry again.
My 27 year old daughter have a friend who is addicted to coffee and drinks a lot of it. He have such high anxiety to the point he only go out in public when there's barely anyone around and places he have to go. I told her to tell him to knock off all that coffee and take a B complex supplement but sadly he doesn't believe in taking supplements and refused to slow down on the coffee so he keeps suffering and living like a hermit 😢
I've put on roughly 30 lbs since I started working the 11pm - 7am shirt at my primary job. Having to work odd hours at my part time hasn't helped me at all. I'm having a difficult time settling in to a consistent eating pattern. The added stress and lack of proper sleep is killing me.
Wow that’s really interesting thank you for sharing I don’t drink lot of coffee was a big tea drinker but I have cut down over the years. I don’t know if it’s the same as drinking coffee or not, but like your wife I’d like to have at least 2 cups of tea in the morning before I even enter the world that makes sense. . Stopped Taking sugar few years back and I noticed that my fingernails seem to be getting stronger and not breaking so easily. My sleep pattern is hitting miss. I have good days and bad days but I should say nights nights have been pretty good. I’m not drinking tea so much but more drinking water since I have changed my diet and being gluten-free and coming off all that food has made my irritable bowel syndrome i’m better. Thank you for sharing 😊
Tea generally has less caffeine and it absorbs into the body more slowly avoiding the spike/crash effect of coffee. Black tea has the most caffeine but green tea is minimal. There are also some great non-caffeine containing teas such as rooibos.
I don’t like the decaf stuff. Has decaf got sweeter in it ? I remember years ago someone told me sweeter it bad stuff sorry my spelling not good use ing speak check and kept getting it wrong 😢
@@TheGoodlifeoffgrid Sweeteners are not in tea or coffee naturally. We stupid humans add those in. It is a to always a good idea to read the ingredients of every food and drink you use to make sure there are no sweeteners.
@@robinbeers6689 true thank you
Thx for doing this and sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
I am a trucker and LOVE my coffee! I've noticed that if I don't drink my coffee, I start falling asleep at the wheel. This cannot be... so I drink my coffee. I drink 32oz's a day when driving. If there is a day or two that I don't drive, I do not drink it. But I put 6 tablespoons in a percolator usually to make it. But I will try to cut back to 4 and see how I do. But I also add Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth - chocolate flavor to my coffee, as well.
I know a swing shift would be very hard for me! Bad on the sleep pattern!
💯💯💯
I have been drinking decaf coffee for years. It's not good tasting no matter how it's doctored up so I began to make it weaker and after a few months am down to 1/4 teaspoon so it's basically just hot colored water. When it's gone, that's it. I sure appreciate your informative videos, Dante! Thanks for sharing with us as we try to get healthier!!! God bless!
Decaf made using sugar cane process is delicious.
@@supercal333 I've never heard of that so I will try to find it! Thanks :)
You are awesome!!! Great role model for health!
On keto / carnivore diet and I feel fabulous eating more meat !
Not hungry at all ?!! Life changing
We are totally carnivore
I was able for many months after starting carnivore to have a stable routine, up in the morning, early to bed. My mug of coffee in the morning was very refreshing and relaxing. Now my schedule isn't so neat and I find caffeine is a problem. I just didn't know why. Thank you Dante.
Quit caffeine AGAIN. For now I’m drinking organic Swiss water processed decaf because I love a cup of coffee in the morning.
What brand? I've been trying to find some in the stores around here.
@@dieselbourbon3728 365 Whole Foods Market Organic Buzz Free Decaf. I order it online since we don’t have Whole Foods here. The price goes up and down. It’s really good!
I like Bob Marley 's decaf coffee.
I’m carnivore three years but nobody. Is taking away my coffee
What animal is coffee from?
I now drink ☕️ in the morning after a cup of water the coffee is after water but before I eat and it’s (1) 4-6 oz. and (1) 4-6 oz. about 3:30-4:30 pm.. Folgers Instant I use to drink three plus large tall mugs throughout the day I WAS NOT IN CONTROL AND BAD MEDICAL ISSUES DUE TO IT but I can handle and manage this for now….Thank You your info is really appreciated and helpful 🎉🎉🎉
As i got older, caffeine began to really bother me. But i really loved the taste of my black no sugar coffee. I bought some organic decaf beans and mixed it 50/50 with my morning blend beans and went from 3 cup too 1 cup. If i need more hot drink i drink beef broth,
I worked nights at a hospital for quite a while, and was really dependent on coffee. Am now on day shift and trying to cut down majorly on it and hopefully eventually just cut it out.
So addicted to caffeine. Will try once again to eliminate it. Thank you Dante
I can't drink one cup of coffee it always leads to another cup of coffee I'm at the point I need to just cold turkey
Before I was carnivore I worked retail and drank coffee and never could get to bed on time and would wake up like I never slept. Now I go to bed at a certain time and wake up and have lots of energy.
I can switch to decaffeinated, but I can't give it up completely. Coffee and doughnuts are a teacher staple. I already gave up the doughnuts. I can't do both. Lol
House looks awesome!!!
Thank you 🙏🏽
