Not everyone is anatomically able to get hyper extended jumps. Also, it's impossible to guess how long it will take anyone to get there. Sorry there isn't a more specific answer, but keep working!
Ella Doucet Great question, go through standing high kicks to either side in front of a mirror and make sure that the legs are straight and the toes are pointed. Doing the split leg raises can also be a good indicator of whether the knees are straight or not.
I have hyperextended jumps on spring floor but can’t seem to get them anywhere else and I don’t understand the hip roll I always hear everyone say “roll your hips” but never explain how? And I can’t seem to keep my chest up?
Some peole do not have the ability to roll the hips due to the shape of the hip socket. You can usually make the appearance of the jump cleaner by keeping your chest up but you mention you struggle there. I would focus on straddle leg raises with your back and butt against the wall and also work on standing kicks focusing on keeping the chest up the entire time. Then work on the diamond jump shown in the video and focus on keeping your chest up.
is there any way i could send in a video of my jumps and get corrections? i know i’ve always had trouble keeping my chest up but i feel like something else is going on too… it’s kind of frustrating when every day i get the same correction from my coach and she tells me to stare at the ceiling (which i already feel like i’m doing)
i was in all star cheer for two years but i was never good enough to do jumps in competition so i would just do tumbling but i have high school tryouts for cheer in 2 months and somehow i can’t get my legs up please help , i am also very flexible so idk what the problem is

So my toe touches are pretty good but i always have one foot that isnt pointed and the other is pointed. what can i do to help fix that?
