I have always wondered on courses like this. I get losing the greens. Sometimes its just disease or some other random unavoidable event. However it seems that usually when this happens they just throw their hands up and kind of let the whole course go. Thanks for the honest review. The fairways here look JUST like the ones at the Batesville Muni. I refused to play there because i was tired of tearing up my clubs on rocks and dirt in the fairways.
I live across the street and this course really isn’t that bad yes fairways are kinda like a backyard but the greens are usually fine, there 20x better right now currently I played yesterday. And the course is super nice to the highschool kids when I was on the team they let us play for free. And Cathy and Tim that own it gave me my first set of clubs when I started playing.
I play here regularly, and it is in very bad shape right now, but it gets better when it comes late summer-fall time. Also I love your vids and how quick they are and having them not be 30 mins long.
Can't argue with anything you said, your descriptions are spot on. I've quit inviting people who have not played there to play with me, because of the conditions. The one caveat would be that it seemed like you laughed more filming this review than any of the others. (maybe to keep from crying). With all its faults, Winn Mtn is still a "fun" course to play. It's great for beginners, and those that don't have the distance to play the "longer" courses.
I have played this course myself, a buddy of mine told me he had some family that owned a small course in Mountainburg so off we went, can't beat the price, but the course is not the best.
Wow…..I can’t believe for someone that is trying to highlight Arkansas golf courses you would do what you just did. What could you possibly gain from smashing a small town business the way you just did???? I know the couple that own and operate this course and you wouldn’t meet nicer more generous people in your life. They offer affordable year round golf for blue collar small town folks. It’s unfortunate they have lost there greens this year…but speaking as someone who as played this course 3-5x a week for the last 5 years I can tell you that has not always been the case. This is the only place around that will let you show up late and play till dark. At affordable prices that means a lot to the working man. I’ll challenge you to come back out when the greens are back. Either late this year or early next spring and do another review. We can make it a match me vs. you 500 dolllars a side and 500 to the overall winner.
That is good that the owners are good people. I literally said in the video “I don’t like to talk bad about courses” and also said “super nice lady in the clubhouse” warned me about the greens. This doesn’t change the fact that the golf course is absolutely horrible. Tee boxes, fairways, greens all of it was not good. I will always keep my reviews 100% true and honest and it’s not in any way trying to talk bad about anyone personally. It’s just the reality.
@@drewfortsongolf5529 I watched your review of other courses in the area I would disagree that it seemed much more intentionally derogatory on this one. That’s okay though you reap what you sow….what about my challenge you in? Should make for good content.
@@dylanjackson2682 lol sounds like you have a very deep personal connection to this golf course and are taking it way too personally. But yeah I’ll take you up on the offer if the greens ever come back to life.
@@drewfortsongolf5529 Of course it’s personal for me bubba. But also think it’s pretty disgusting to post a review on social media or any business on there worse day. But I hope you live up to your word and when they come back I can expect you back out there.
@@dylanjackson2682 I had no prior knowledge of this course. How am I supposed to know it’s the worst it’s been. First time ever playing it. Nothing at all malicious with this video it’s just the truth. Take it with a grain of salt.
Ive played here several times and this is by far the worst it has ever been. Every time ive played here greens have been great this is really surprising to me.
I have been missing your vids and wondered where you were. As for that course. Whew.....where to begin. The greens look like they haven't watered them all year and the fairways have NO definition whatsoever. It actually looks like you are just playing in a pasture for real. I never believed there was another course that was even worse than Southern Oaks in Jacksonville. But by gosh you found one. lol

Lol. Although I do enjoy playing here I do always have my worst putting days here. And the people that run it are super sweet.

Thanks for the feedback and for watching Cade! Much appreciated
first vid I've seen on yours. Great stuff, man. Good course or not it's a nice format you have. Good editing too. Cheers!
Thanks for watching, Ed! Appreciate the kind words! 😁
Just started back golfing haha you gotta great swing big dog!
Thanks Ethan! 😁
Love the content. Keep it up homie
Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching 👊
Good to see ya again!
Thanks for Watching again John! Sorry for the delay in video posts life gets busy! Lol
Brutal conditions. Where should you play next Tannenbaum or Mountain Ranch
Great recommendations! Hopefully get there soon!
Also you should check out eagle crest in alma again, the greens have grown in and don’t “zoom” anymore and the fairways are much better.
😂 good to hear! That one did get rated a little too early in the year. I’m sure it will make more appearances on the channel
@@drewfortsongolf5529 Awesome!

That’s you!
You going to play River Valley in Dyer?
Plan on playing nearly every course in the state. It’s on the list I’ve heard bad things lol
@@drewfortsongolf5529 lol it’s better than Winn Mountain and Greenwood to me but it’s not great 😂
Last time I played at dyer a few weeks ago the greens were dead
@@chipper0834 river valley video going live at noon today 👍🏼
gotta get down to waldron
I hope to get down that way soon!

You were very courteous, referring to the area around the flags as "greens", rather than "browns".
Haha very true!

If you want to play another horrid course, The Creeks in Cave Springs is brutal
Lol why are there so many horrible courses in Arkansas?
Ive played here several times and this is by far the worst it has ever been. Every time ive played here greens have been great this is really surprising to me.
I know weather hasn’t been the best so probably just a bad year for a lot of courses

😂 I’m Finding all of the gems in the state so far! Lol
I can deal with poor fairways on crappy courses, but greens like this ruin the game.
I agree! It’s a must to have greens that at least roll somewhat true.
What in the world happened to those "greens"?? Wow. They shouldn't charge more than $5 to play there. Lol..
😂 I agree! Brutal winter in Arkansas I guess ruined a lot of Bermuda grass on most golf courses in the state
