Wow Alot of winter lovers here. I guess I'm the only one who notices sweat more in the winter than In summer because of having to keep putting on and removing layers. Since everyone is listing pros for winter let me just say in the summer, the day lasts longer, more activities, the ground isn't slippery, I don't have to wait 20 min to leave my house, plenty of natural vitamin d, and any heat exhaustion can be fixed with a swim and or chilling by the AC.
I mean personally my body is always just naturally releasing exorbitant amounts of body heat simply due to having genetics prone for colder environments. I can barely survive during summers; Winter is my one time of reprieve.

Its the other way around, the human body is badly evolved, we should be able to go around naked like any other animal, not costantly be too cold or too hot during 2 of the 4 seasons
@@federicor9956 we're actuelly some of best adapted animals to heat, because that's where we evolved. In warm climates. Our bodies are made to expel as much heat as possible.

I have lived in places that the seasons don't really change. So the people there don't respect nature or the seasons. Now my issue with the cross country skiing comparison. Who said down hill skiing was fun? Put two sticks on your feet and get pushed down a mountain. Try not to die. Hes kinda right about those ancestry tests...after being told i was a quarter cherokee indian my whole life my test told me i was only .05% native american and that a woman i was raised with as my sister was actually my cousin 😳 thankfully it was after my dad died so he never knew his ex wife had a baby by 1 of his brothers...
As woman without Nordic ancestry (however, born and raised in Sweden); I must agree that the women here are beautiful - Think Elsa Hosk & Zara Larsson for instance.
I love Jim Gaffigan and think he's one of the most hilarious stand-ups around. And I'm actually from the same town he grew up in in Indiana... But I don't agree with him at all, I love the seasons. It's summerfall Winterspring i-don't-care! I love them all.
I'm in Buffalo. Here's more or less how the seasons go around here. Fall = Oct through Nov. Winter = Dec to mid-April. Fake Spring = Mid-April. Winter II = Late April. Spring = 1st half of May Fake Summer = 2nd Half of May. Spring II = 1st Half of June Summer = Mid-June to Sept.
I love his observations with an underlying narrative of his inner chatter ....both worlds melt together perfectly❤ also the reference to ikea at the end🤣😂🤣😂
He's right. There are about 3-5 genuinely good things that people are always quick to list to defend fall and winter. They'll talk about cozy sweaters, hot cocoa, skiing... That sort of stuff. Which is all cool don't get me wrong. But compared to fucking SUMMER?? The season where we get to do 99% of the fun things that are available in life and be out in the fresh air every day and night? Like what are we even talking about here.
In defense of winter, it's much easier to warm up when you're cold than it is to cool down when you're hot. Summer heats can be oppressive in some places, especially it's really humid, forcing people indoors anyways, but it's not fun indoors, just sticky. In winter, I have an excuse to stay inside, where it's comfortably warm, and enjoy all of the fun things to be had. Not everyone likes going outside, so I feel it's unfair to claim summer is better just because you prefer it.
I'm not a sauna expert, but just based on logic people go into sauna naked because they're sweating a lot. Wearing a jacket in there wouldn't make sense to sweat in a jacket. That would just feel awful. Just like when you're hot, you're taking your clothes off because you want to cool off. It wouldn't make sense to put on more clothes in a hot environment. That's just common sense. As for why Jim Gaffigan doesn't understand winter people, I can't speak for everyone, and I'm not a huge fan of winter as in 0 degree either, but I would say I would much prefer having colder temperature than hotter temperature because at the very least I can put on more clothes in cold; whereas in hot summer, I can't take off anymore clothes after I'm butt ass naked already unless I start peeling my skin off.
Swede here. Most of our bath houses do also have saunas and i have been to several bath houses where it is forbidden to enter the sauna unless you are completely naked which makes zero sense. Like my swimming trunks would ruin the experience of the others.
ugh that feeling of wanting to peel your damn skin off, I understand. You can't even get to butt ass naked because you get arrested unless you're at home. Or if you're German I guess?
Winter is just winter but for all those people who say they love winter don’t work outside just saying go outside for 10 hours a day five days a week and have a talk about how much you love winter
Still love winter but yeah dry skin is what I think off when outside daily for long periods. I've done construction a good chunk of my adult life now I work an office job but winter never bothered me while hot days killed me. So I guess it's all perspective at the end of the day.
I'm a UPS driver and I work out in the elements all year long; rain, snow, heat, humidity, and the nice days too. I'll take a cold winter day over a hot humid day EVERYTIME. I can always wear gloves, a hat or more layers.
I love winter, but I've never worked outside full time. Though, as a redhead that is so pale that I barely freckle, an outside job wouldn't be wise regardless of the weather. I just rather smell the crispness of the winter air in all its its deliciousness than smell sweat and garbage bins in the summer. Plus feeling the need to shower 2-3x a day in the summer so I don't have flies swirming around is not something I miss in the winter snuggled up in gloves, scarves, and earmuffs.
I live in Arizona & i agree i rather it be 115 outside than 55 degrees at least we can go too the lake & make a carne asada i love that 80 degree afternoons Arizona is beautiful past 4pm 🥰
I like winter better summer makes me tired all the time and the heat gets my temper up alot faster...but winter it's nice and cold and the air feels fresher and stuff feels cleaner after rain. I like walking and doing fun things in the cold more then in the hot whether. Plus less annoying people are out in the cold which makes me feel better, I don't have to talk or acknowledge their annoying existence.
I enjoy winter, because you’re not sweating your ass off, from the beginning to the end. You sweat a little, then you dial back on the work, the sweat disappears, and then you start all over again. I can work hard, but not feel like I just ran a mile.
I grew up in Minnesota and it's around 7 - 8 months of winter, then construction season. Winters did seem far more brutal 20+ years ago but it is still no picnic now. He hilariously mentioned several cold weather sports but there is also the dream some kids have when they are skittering down a frozen slide at recess thinking, "I think I'm going to grow up to race down a giant frozen waterslide on my back going 200 mph". That sounds fun!! Jim G. is a hoot. I just love his "confused" observations of the world.

When my son-in-law (Army) was stationed in Alaska he had to do a week's worth of survival training during the Winter in negative 20 degree weather. It was a mixed group of Army, Navy & Marines. His group ended up doing the best out of the group & me made some sort of contraption that got put in the Fort Wainwright museum. He told me about their week & it sounded horrible.

I don’t understand people who like the heat. Who likes being sweaty all the time?
We dont but nudity is nice way better than wearing a ton of clothes and still be freezing

Those of us who have Nordic ancestry, we tend to release body heat in such a way that makes cooler weather a relief for us.
I didnt get that one. My Nord/baltic blood wants to be in a sauna or sweating in the sun
@Son Darui Its just a certain gene yk.

I physically can't take heat. I sweat, it's hard to breathe, my energy levels are close to zero and I may just faint if I walk in heat. You can put on warm clothes if you're cold but what are you gonna take off when you're hot? Your skin? 😂
You just have to move fast when youre nude. Works best in public😉

Unless you work outside like I do, shut up!
My favorite seasons in order: Spring, Fall, Winter then Summer. I love being comfortable outside. Spring and Fall are obvious favorites. I can dress properly for Winter but, the Summer heat drives me crazy.
I loved the Ikea joke at the end, hilarious

People who live in extreme hot weathers, like me unfortunately, enjoy cold weathers immensely. I HATE the sun too :)
Born & raised in the Midwest...I *LOVE* winter! 😁🌬❄
Can walk out in a tee shirt.
Love summer
SUMMER IS THE FUTURE
I hate winter clothes. So uncomfortable having to wear layers to stay warm abs wearing a winter coat in the car is torture.
Thank youuuuuu
I mean personally my body is always just naturally releasing exorbitant amounts of body heat simply due to having genetics prone for colder environments. I can barely survive during summers; Winter is my one time of reprieve.
Same
I can barely survive summer either. I live in florida (been stuck here 30 years ) the few days off cool we get are my only reprive.

Where can I watch the whole set? Netflix? Jim is one of the my favorite comedians he's a master at his craft. It's honestly beautiful how good he is at stand up. I laugh and love him more each time. Who knew "live, laugh, love!" would make me think "Jim Gaffigan". Should post a picture of him with those words on it like some Tumblr artsy fartsy blog except people would probably think I was joking. He's so funny even sincere compliments about him are funny. I'm sorry this is so long. I don't get to say that often. Have yourselves a happy New Year full of cheer
Oh dear! I love winter. I bundle up and walk in the cold with my dog. Not to mention how invigorating cycling into the wind is!! In the city I also find that people are a lot nicer in the colder weather.
yeah? then we hope you also dont eat anything that needs sun, light and warmth to grow! eat your dog and set urself on fire!
Thank you! When people talk about how they love winter it’s just so odd to me. In winter, I am just trying to hang on long enough until spring. I feel like winter and below zero temperatures are barbaric and the human body shouldn’t have to go through it. It immediately makes me feel really down emotionally. Freaking horrible.
Its the other way around, the human body is badly evolved, we should be able to go around naked like any other animal, not costantly be too cold or too hot during 2 of the 4 seasons
Just wear clothes and stay in motion; like every other person when they’re outside
Cold showers are actually great for depression. Ice baths are said to be best but I'll leave that to the RUclipsrs I learned all this from
@@federicor9956 we're actuelly some of best adapted animals to heat, because that's where we evolved. In warm climates. Our bodies are made to expel as much heat as possible.
@ObsidianSugar112 : You might want to try out a light box. A lot of ppl with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) find them really helpful 👍. Just make sure to follow the directions about what time to use it (ie early in the morning), etc.

I love winter. More excuses for hot drinks. The changed season brings that fresh pretty snow. And it makes you really appreciate when spring comes. I have lived in places that the seasons don't really change. So the people there don't respect nature or the seasons.
Now my issue with the cross country skiing comparison. Who said down hill skiing was fun? Put two sticks on your feet and get pushed down a mountain.
Try not to die.
You take me skiing I am going to by the fireplace in the lodge drinking cocoa and coffee. Thank you.
I'm black and love the winter and cold air, but when I tell people this I get "looks" 😂

If Jim Gaffigan can do hilarious, intelligently silly and clean comedy so can others -- with a little effort. Love him and wish there were more like him.

Hes kinda right about those ancestry tests...after being told i was a quarter cherokee indian my whole life my test told me i was only .05% native american and that a woman i was raised with as my sister was actually my cousin 😳 thankfully it was after my dad died so he never knew his ex wife had a baby by 1 of his brothers...
can you imagine the amount of family drama and divorces these tests must cause
😮
I found out I’m 2.2% Neanderthal.
The ancestry kits you can buy are notoriously inaccurate and this exact situation happens a lot. You should get tested properly.
My results said I was 40% irrelevant.

I'm in Buffalo. Here's more or less how the seasons go around here.
Fall = Oct through Nov.
Winter = Dec to mid-April.
Fake Spring = Mid-April.
Winter II = Late April.
Spring = 1st half of May
Fake Summer = 2nd Half of May.
Spring II = 1st Half of June
Summer = Mid-June to Sept.
I love his observations with an underlying narrative of his inner chatter ....both worlds melt together perfectly❤ also the reference to ikea at the end🤣😂🤣😂
The best part of the DNA test segment is that he was on an episode of Finding Your Roots on PBS
@@ThatReplyGuy in the south its hot and humid. You feel like a bear with wet fur. At least in the winter you don't sweat often.
Clearly you're not from a country where summer means that the entirety of outside is a sauna
@@ThatReplyGuy exactly, it's nice to not sweat constantly in winter like I do in summer. I'm in Vegas

Dude.... maybe listen to more stand-up.
This is fkn awful
I hate heat, humidity, sweating, dehydration and mosquitoes.
He nailed this one all around!
He goofed one about the East Europeans. We are smarter and savvier than we appear
Hot weather makes me dizzy. You can always add layers and there's no bugs.
"Cross country skiing is the least fun thing you can do in the snow. And that includes freezing to death!" - Joe Stapleton
California native, just moved to Montana...I’m all for snow now 🤣😂
"This isn't Rome!" lmao

I enjoy winter, because you’re not sweating your ass off, from the beginning to the end. You sweat a little, then you dial back on the work, the sweat disappears, and then you start all over again. I can work hard, but not feel like I just ran a mile.
Sounds like you like fall. You won't like winter in Chicago.
