Ive learned from having made this mistake. I got a plane ticket to Germany, then called in to say i quit. I had a new per Diem job, but i was too optimistic early on, and lost it. Since then I always do just a little extra at my new job, and keep building an emergency fund. I sometimes work an extra seasonal job just as a back up, and even made a few friends at side jobs
