Turning off 5G really does save a lot of battery I reset my Google Pixel a few times thinking it was a issue with Android itself but I looked up 5G coverage in my area and I only get fair 5G coverage in my area and as soon as I made 4GLTE the default my battery has been lasting way longer because it's no longer looking hard for that 5G signal so if you don't have good 5G in your area definitely turn it off because it really does drain a lot of battery.
I have a Samsung regular S10, and I love it, because it was possibly the last Samsung model to come with everything included, including a headphone jack. I have incorporated almost all of your battery saving tips during the last 2 years, and recently noticed one day that my screen time was reading 7 hours and 29 minutes, and I still had 13% left. Not bad, for a 4 year old phone! You guys are the best, and keep the learning fun, too! Thank You! 🤗

I had a Samsung phone and I upgraded to a Motorola phone and it's running so much better than all the Samsungs I ever had combined. To get to my point. This video that I just got done watching I followed along with everything even made footnotes and went back to do these different settings to get more battery life and preserve my battery. Basically the majority of these have nothing to do with Android it has to do with Samsung software not Android software just wanted you to know that. There were a couple that were very beneficial I thank you

I have an LG 158VL Tracfone. It has very few of the settings recommended to be turned off for battery saving. I have just replaced the LG 45F1F battery and notice that it seems to be discharging rather quickly. I have uninstalled a number of apps and changed display settings, hope that helps. Want to avoid getting a new Tracfone and transferring contacts, etc. It may be that the new battery needs a number of charge/discharge cycles to develop full capacity(?) Apparently not all android phones have same settings.
My Motorola phone is not set up/setting are not the same as you are showing but I did what I could. Now I'll work on my hubby's phone. Thanks for all the info. :) Hubby's phone has even less so didn't make any changes on his :(

I am functionally illiterate when it comes to smart phones , basically only use mine as a phone , voice text , camera and juke box , thanks for all the tips my battery was going dead overnight and wasn't charging correctly . PS - I subscribed .
Darkmode only works on amoled displays, darkmode on ordinary screens won't save battery because simply those tiny pixels still generate colors including black, amoled displays just simply turns off those unused pixels that doesn't use vivid colors.

Hate when I look or I order something. Then I start seeing ads after the fact. Didn't realize how many apps run in the background, or had access to my cam and mic. I disagree motion smoothness doesn't save enough battery to justify turning it off. Remember it's adaptive, so it changes the hetz based on what you are doing. So keeping it on might save battery if you're watching a 30fps movie.
What the craziest of all is that when I bought my phone and I was setting it up Google asked me if I want to use my microphone and I said no. Now I went to see if it's actually off as you guys have suggested and it was on always allowed wtf 😱

Imagine you bought a phone with a powerful chipset, high framerates screen, smart, listening and using sensors 24/7... And then you turn all of them off for battery.
I go back and forth on updating apps. sometimes I will only update an app when they come up to a major whole number update because I feel like it is at least substantial at that point. but every now and then I'll update one of my apps when I see that it has a point number update because I think oh they must be improving it lol at the end of the day I kind of update my apps individually as needed 🤷🏽♂️

Im glad that other users can learn about these settings that I use. Good video, informative and useful. My current beef is that on reboot, I'm losing my restricted list, and have to manually re-add 57 apps to the battery restrictions list. U guys have that issue. I have pixel 6a a13. There needs to be a way to bulk add apps to the restricted battery app list. I sent feedback to Google regarding this.

I force 120hz everywhere i cant live without it. Its so much smoother. I also have memc on which doubles the frame rate of supported platforms (wish there were more supported) that makes this video look 60fps. Battery life is still fine but it does trigger my ocd when its wasting battery. I choose the smoothness anyway. I dont consider worth 30min battery life over the whole day of choppiness.

I've heard that theory, and it makes sense, but I'd have to test it. Again, in theory, it would only work when not touching the screen.
