@@emmanuelleroy2915hopefully i can get back to that feeling of not giving af. i lost myself along the way but now im on the road to finding that carefree part of myself once again😊
This was so interesting but we need to include how Kelis actually shaped A LOT of his style identity shift that you speak of, she deserves her flowers for this and for helping his trajectory into high fashion
Pharrell deserves all his flowers when we think of streetwear!! One of the original sneakers, jewelry and raw denim king! He has exquisite taste. Let’s not forget he’s been working with Chanel since Karl Largerfeld
I cant really talk about pharrell's history but ever since i found out about him from Happy , i took interest , what a living legend he really isn't spoken about enough.
Pharrell been out since like 98 and been on top as an artist , designer, producer, just all out curator of all things timeless...super super SUPER legend also a case to be made that hes done everything Kanye aspired to do before Ye did and (MAYBE) even better....
Pharrell was ahead of the curve musically and ESPECAILLY in fashion i dont think a single person was doing the Skateboarder streetwear trend before Skateboard P or the Japanese crazy wild colors before Bape and BBC. literally every single person bit P waves a true style god and innovator in all aspects and fecets shoutout to the gawd!! seen him doing so many creative things before they became cool AND he ALWAYS did it best 🙏🏾oh and lastly all of his work has aged SOO gracefully i still see people wear Bape BBC Ice Cream Human and anything else he touches like it never went out of style stuff he not only gets copied but gets recreated and worn like it just came out today because his genius is NEVER questioned..to me hes the most fashionable Icon weve ever seen in the culture point blank the ony other person giving him a run for his money is Kanye and itd truly be a fight to the finish.
It’s like you don’t know how to disappoint, this was such an obvious choice to do, yet I never even thought about it. May God Bless Thread, always enlightening us 😮💨
Thank you for this. I was watching a bunch of fashion documentaries and Pharrell was right there front row but no one really talks about his influence in the fashion world
My role model. Always been a major influence in my life. Whether it's the music he makes, clothes he wore or even the things he says. Love this dude to bits.
Absolut master piece bro ur content is such a work men u should be in netflix wtf never i rarely comment but i have seen every video keep it up i love research but this takes so much time nice work
I genuinely think we will see a revival of Billionaire Boys Club in a few years like we’ve seen with other 90s brand, it was so much in the zeitgeist that itd be a shame if it was missed from the nostalgia wave
Damn I thought BBC has been back since 2016. A lot of people around my area still wear hella BBC / Ice Cream they even sell that shit at Nordstrom on the discount racks for like $30 bro
This is such a great video, the story so well told and researched. Much respect! I'm following Pharell since his first Neptunes times and really looking forward what he'll do at LV.
If anyone found this interesting I highly recommend the Jimmy Gorecki (JSP / Standard Issue Tees) episode of Throwing Fits podcast (originally called Failing Upwards) hosted by Jimmy Harris and Larry Schlossman who you may remember from Complex's "Fashion Bros" show. It's a great podcast, the guys are hilarious and if you're into menswear and pop culture it's a good listen. But anyways, the Jimmy Gorecki episode is tangential to this Pharrell video as he talks about his time skating for Ice Cream and shares some stories of Pharrell at the time. He goes on to talk about starting his own clothing companies JSP and standard issue tees (which I highly recommend the latter for high quality sweats).
Great & unexpected video.. learned even more about Pharrell & a lot of this brought me back to a few years back.. great content & knowledge as always… if I can plzzz request a video on YSL, Dior, or Chanel
Pharrell inspires me so damn much because he just trys his own style and everyone jus loves it so much and his interview with rick rubin is a nice look into his mind
Seriously THANK YOU as I learned alot from watching this. Now I know the whole story about Reebok which is crazy and being from Australia when BBC / Ice Cream originally dropped it was near to impossible to get. Good times though.
bro i just woke up and got breakfast, sat down at my desk to playt some games and i see this on my home page, never have been so happy to watch a video lfg

The Pharrell and my mind avatars actually came in during social media era. It came out during the MySpace era, which I seen people on other social media sites that did not last long using the avatars. People often forget about zynga and black planet. I've had the internet in my household since 1995 I know a lot of kids my age weren't blessed that way. But the very first social media I knew of was called our town it was an AOL only social media and I created my profile in 1999. I've had a Zynga since 2001. I signed up from MySpace either the end of 2002 or the beginning of 2003.
I see why many artists looked up this man. He is a genius and a talented artists. His capabilities of being creative and as well creating many teams to create music, clothing pieces, and of course skin care.
Had a BBC sweater with the OG font and logo format my freshman year of college, girl I know said she was cold, lent it to her…never saw that jacket again…still remember it to this day
Was hoping for you to speak on his association with Christian Louboutin. He claimed to have been rocking the brand before people knew what it was on an A$AP Rocky track
I always loved this kid Pharrell from the first time I heard his music I remember thinking to myself there is something special about this kid. Real rap if you were a true fan of hip hop and R&B in the early 90’s you could not listen to Pharrell’s music without noticing there was definitely something different about him and his sound his style was unique from the other rap artists of that time. I ain’t gonna hold you dude was the last person that you would think was a rapper if you entered a room filled with rappers. He was very unassuming low key looking type Katt. My first impression of Pharrell was the skinny scrawny nerdy type kid that got picked on a lot in grade school coming up. LMMFAO look at this brother now this brother has to have the best juju karma or whatever you wanna call it when your that person that consistently was in the right place at the right time at every step in your life. Like Teddy Riley picks your high school to judge a talent show and give the winner a shot at getting into the music industry and even when he loses Pharrell wins because his little crew lost but TR saw something special in Pharrell and the rest is history. I know I’m on the outside looking in but damn he made it look easy from a talent show this kid has literally conquered everything he touched from music to fashion to designing shit . Just saying this man has broke into industries that people have gone to school and studied and trained for years just to get noticed in their field and it never even happened for them and bro just like stumbled his way through and met the right people at the right times and I have to say when these opportunities open up for him he was prepared he knew his shit
This man just figured out how to be a kid his whole life
