I’m definitely getting the new 6 series. I was gonna pull the plug on the p605 but I’m glad I didn’t. 120 zones of local dimming. HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Thank You TCL for making a great and affordable product.

Mianlo Mangaing hands down Sony for me I own both A1E 65in, and 900E 65 in .. pricy yes but a better quality.. to me it is. Watching from cable, streaming, 4k to motion I don’t know processor is great if you see it head to head with tcl in person.

I just bought the one they carry in the states in 55", best TV I ever bought. As long as it stands the test of time I'm over the Sony Samsung brand. It's the little things like the ability to check your remote battery % that impressed me so much. They should cut me a check too cuz I'm highly impressed

I was just at best buy to get the p series but didn't have it in stock. Glad they didn't have it in stock. I'm getting this 2018 edition.

Well, even when you consider other brands these tvs are extremely high quality for their price. That they compete tvs that are 500-$800 more is no joke.

Wow, I can't believe TCL is going to price the new 55 6 series the same as last year's. I thought they'd get at least a little more greedy this year. 650 and you get more, plus who knows how cheap the '17 P series will now get.

Finally the TCL p series is coming to the UK in spring hopefully they do the 65 inch inline with the us price .
The TCL C6 looks stunning! Glad it's coming to Australia! Supposed to be between the premium X6 and the new P6 model. Haven't heard too much about specs yet tho. But it does have full array micro dimming, HDR10+ & Dolby Vision and comes in 49, 55 & 65 inches - 65 will be $3299, no other prices released yet. If it has around 100 zones it will be a phenomenal TV. Just hope the brightness can push 1000 nits... The premium X6 (85 inches and RRP of $20,000) is only doing 1200 so probably unlikely.

Does it also have HDR 10, I didn't see that on the specs. Going to get it either way, just a plus. Hope the 65" is a decent price.
Marc H are you from Canada? I think older models support both Dolby vision and HDR 10 too, so the newer models should have it too..

The question is should I get the R6 in 55” or 65” as a PC monitor? I have a 47” Samsung 8 series atm.
I know at this price range it doesnt seem plausible. but that 6 series says 240 motion. Typically that is double what it actually is. Are the new 6 series tvs 120hz?

peak brightness. just shy of Sony 900e 800 peak. For the money TCL is better for gaming lower input lag but not better for tv
viewing but for price it's unbeatable
tv doesn't have a high peak brightness and the processing
chip inside tv is not the best that one of ways they cut cost
to me it a tv aimed at gamers but ok for tv or movie watching.
4k movies will look better but nits need to be higher. Sony 900e is a better
buy if you can swing it or wait for newer TCL r6 models. I just got a p605
will keep it until new models get reviewed if same I will swap for a 900e

Hey Joelster, really appreciate your vids.
I have been holding out to purchase a 65” and was about to pull the trigger on the 930e as it is now priced below 2k. Mostly Tv, Movies and some gaming. Did you see enough from the new 65”TCL 6 series that would justify me now waiting a few months for its release over the 930e? I would imagine even at launch it will still be way less than the 930e sale price.

eincan 13 Thanks brother, at first glance the new TCL looks amazing we still dont know much about how bright is going to be, Sony 930e is one bright tv with great contrast, so I wouuld wait too see how the new tcl turns out and then make a decision.
But why 60hz? Isn't 120hz a must for action and sports? I'm in the TV market and it seems like no TV has all the check marks without spending $2000.
I'm laughing so hard though...you can see on the 65 that the screen is dimmer in the corners.
