I went back and the demo after two Atlus patches to the Metaphor ReFantazio Prologue Demo and compared it to the original version. Seeing Atlus patch the PC demo was nice to see but are there any major differences and will this version be representative of the final release?
Is this the demo version? Indeed you have a very good cpu so it would nice to see how performance is with a mid tier cpu, something line a Ryzen 5 5600 or i5 11400/12400
@@TerraWare Well, you are the only one at least on RUclips talking and showing in a video how performance is after two months. So it was very helpful, honestly this game is kinda weird as far as performance is concerned
On several PC's there are problems with the sound. On many, all sound is really low. On others (mine too unfortunately) the sound dissapears entirely every few minutes. Haven't heard anything from Atlus thus far. Would be nice to know if they are working on it or not. Because if not, I need to ask for a refund.
Using riva Tuner for frame limiting when you use special k anyway is pointless and just increases overhead. Special K has great frame limiting options.
Right but most people are familiar with RTSS, it was a way to show a method that more effectively caps the FPS instead of using in game vsync or the framerate limiter built in the game.
@@Xbob42Running 2 programs without any need instead of 1 creates more overhead and it may be small but it's definitely not zero. Riva tuner is not better than special k at frame limiting. And you don't need it anyway when you are already running special k, that's my point.
@@MrHorst38 I didn't say the overhead was 0, I said it was essentially 0, because it is. You can test this yourself by running both Special K and RTSS, then closing RTSS. There will be no measurable performance difference on any PC. You don't need a source for something any idiot could test in literally 5 seconds and get empirical, inarguable results. Go on, don't argue with me, go do it and record the results. RTSS *is* generally better at frame limiting than Special K, RTSS will more often result in perfectly flat frame time graphs provided you have the hardware to keep up with your chosen FPS. Special K's framerate limiter is very good, and is perfectly acceptable, but RTSS will almost always produce a more desirable result. Special K's limiter will often result in a lot of small frametime spikes and can interact strangely with many games, and can even crash many games it's not meant for. But in the case of a game where it's already running, sure, it's ok.
@@Xbob42 Like I mentioned in the video first time I used Special K was 2 weeks ago when looking at this demo and have been looking at some of the settings and features. I've tested many games that have had inconsistent frametime issues and RTSS does an excellent job capping the FPS. Silent Hill 2 being a recent example, Once Human and many others.
I’m undecided as well. I have a 1660 that can seemingly hold 50-60 fps at 1080. I’ve heard the ps5 doesn’t hold frames well, but is a higher resolution so I’m not sure which way to go.
