I think Mike Tramp did an excellent job with what he was presented from Vito. I remember talking to the drummer ( he said they didn't think he was quite good enough and was fired and they got Greg D'Angelo), he said that Vito's family were sort of 'mobbish' or something.....said one of Vito's family members owned that club where they rehearsed in the basement. He said that Vito was TOTALLY self centered and didn't really seemed sincerly close to anyone. Regardless of whether any of that is true the fact is that Vito had truly INCREDIBLE songs, so his talent outweighed his personality, at least back then.
Well I remember an interview with Tramp where he said Vito was the type of guy where you wouldn't know anything personal about him such as his birthday. Seems pretty cold bro.

I started playing in 1982 at the age of 12 and was in my first actual money making bar band 2 years later at the age of 14... Obviously things have changed since then but I wanted to share that part because you dont get anywhere without paying your dues... And being in working bands for almost 40 years,,,, I do know a thing or 2..... And dont think im a crappy player because I never made it big,,,, Came close a few times,, but there is a lot more that goes into these things than just talent... I can play all the greats,, from Hendrix to EVH to SRV to Angus to Vito but my all time fav is Randy Rhoads... I have joined bands and I have put bands together,,,, One thing I have learned through all these years,,, If you come across some schumck that thinks his/her shit dont stink,, that thinks they are God's gift,, and that anything anyone else does is beneth them,,,, I dont care how good they are,,,,, Throw that son of a bitch out on the street and let him/her watch from the cheap seats as you keep playing... Its hard enough to get 4 or 5 people to be on the same page as it is,,, it just makes it that much harder and unnecessarily stressful to have some wannabe with an attitude throwing a wrench in your spokes every time you accomplish something good and to be treated like you are POS when everyone puts in 110% is enough to start fights that end up bloody... I know from experience... And no,, its not that I have anger issues,,, its I have a very short tolerance for imbeciles that deserve everything they have coming to them... There are plenty of good talented people out there who are dedicated and willing to treat everyone with the respect they deserve.. Save yourself the trouble and kick them to the curb before its too late.. Having a band that is cohesive and respects each other,,,,, thats the difference between a good band and great band...

It was more the way you carried yourself than anything and it didnt hurt that the other guitarist in the band,, his mother owned a bar called The Yankie Clipper.. It was well known as the Skanky Dripper with a strip join she owned right next door... Talk about a childhood.. I could tell you some stories.. needless to say,, I didnt have to chase high school girls.. Just about every stripper wanted a piece of me when they found out how young I was.. I loved every bit of that attention too... I have always been very careful of who got to hear my music and I am very careful about putting my music on the internet.. I learned very early how other musicians steal your ideas and try and pass them off as their own.. Back then you didnt have the home studios like you do today, so what we did was record ourselves on cassette and mail it to ourselves and never open the envelope.. With the post office stamp, that was proof of when we recorded it in case someone tried stealing ideas... I still have a lot of those envelopes... Some day they will make it into the hands of some youngster thats hungry for fame. and I must admit those are some very good songs that would still be relevant today.. I can sound cocky but im realy not, Im a very humble person. in fact most people today dont even know I play guitar until I pick one up in front of them and start whaling some flying high again or Panama.. The music scene in my area is nearly dead and the bars that do have live music dont pay enough to even cover drinks and gas.. so I havent played out in a few years now.. Not sure I ever will again but I will always play.. Thanks for the interest tho

Great interview!! Huh I've never heard about any of this but close followers of the band might have been aware.. Sounds like a common occurrence with new bands,some tweaking of band lineups etc.. Doesn't surprise me in a sense because we generally hear about these things more these days with social media,where behind the scenes articles a thing understandably.. Bruno sounds like a very constructive contributing type of player,very interesting Oh I read about Hotshot too. Well glad he made some decent money through his writing for Danger Danger beyond his White Lion experience.
Cold? Perhaps. But there's a reason Vito was able to retire young and live very comfortably. And it wasn't by splitting up songwriting credits. He was the rare young musician who clearly understood where the money is in the business.

Vito is an astute business person. He was in a field that he knew was going to disappear (earning money from hair metal) so he got out of it. White lion is one of the very few bands that never made a bad album.

Now I heard Vito’s running his family’s pizzeria in New York. So he isn’t that great of a song writer. Great guitar player thou, good tone and style.

Vito didn’t retire. He quit because he hated being categorized as a being a guitar player in a hair band.
