I saw Crue open for KISS on the Creatures of the Night tour in April of '83 in San Francisco. At the time, the only song I had heard from them was Live Wire. While my buddy and I were walking from our car to the venue, I realized that the ratio of Motley Crue shirts than KISS shirts was easily 5 to 1 in favor of MC. Then about half way through their set I remember thinking, "I don't know WTF I'm watching but I absolutely love it!! From that moment on, life would never be the same. Within a week, every inch of my bedroom walls and ceiling were covered in Motley posters.
Saw motley when they opened for Kiss- Creatures of the Night tour. Motley is a joke these days, Tommy Lee is one of the biggest POS liberals out there. TDS syndrome to the Nth degree.
The black & white suit Nikki's wearing closely resembles the black & white jumpsuit Steven Tyler wore in the 70s. Wonder if that's where he got the idea? He was a huge Aerosmith fan.....
Of course it was and he used Blackie Lawless's Sister stage design for TFFL and Shout. It worked. A lot of people slam Nikki, but that 1st album was all him, and Shout was epic. Regardless of musical talent, he put that band together and was the primary songwriter.
I wonder she ever got paid from any of these bands or if they all just screwed her over when they left. I hope the labels gave her some kind of buyout at least because I just don't see Nikki Sixx giving her a fat wad of cash the moment he gets signed.
