I like the fact that you review budgets drones that are of decent quality, for people who maybe don't have alot of money, or maybe getting their first drone.. You show them the ones that are worth buying.
I own the CSJ X7 Pro and I have to say that I am very impressed. Even with the two axis gimbal the footage comes out well, and crystal clear as well. I didn’t have massive expectations for the camera quality but when I uploaded the footage onto my phone I was mightily impressed, I’d even say that it turned out clearer than the videos and photos taken in this video. Really really good for an affordable price!

I’ve got the CSJ-X7 Pro 2 axis version. It does 18mph max and in wind other day I had 3M/S lol. Drone does return to home after 15 minutes of flight. But if you cancel it, it does last 20 minutes but after a certain time it limits the speed to 50% which is only 4m/s. For the Money they are good. Owned a Mavic Mini but sold it. Mavic did not like wind over 10mph at ground level even when it could do 27mph in sports mode lol
You can fix the jello with a bit of foam and a drop or two of glue but you will void the warranty. You can also stabilise the video with the Google photos app. It does a great job all round.
You can get this and an extra battery with the foam box or the SG 906 Pro 2 for about $260 Canadian . This one ticks a lot of boxes for me since I'm on a tight budget , and I only need the Basic license for it .
Bought the SG906 Pro. Flew once and it flew nice. Had issues getting satellites, would come and go. Flew in optical mode to see if it was due to interference. Drone flew up and it took off into the woods at top speed. One flight, One fly away. Gonna stick with my higher quality stuff.
After lots of debating, I've ordered this... technically not my first drone (first one was a £50 non gps or OFS) bought about 5 years ago and couldn't control, while I buy from Chinese sites, i'm always a little nervous, but it has been dispatched today and £160 with 3 batteries :)
I think this seems to be the best low budget drone on the market right now. Seems to be good quality most of the time and one cannot complain about video or photo quality, although there are some negative details. All of these cheap drones SG906 Pro 2, ZLRC SG906 Pro2, JJRC X9PS, and additional models seem to have the same problem, with it constantly shaking, or appearing to be some form of incorrect synchronization in the engines. You can see that the video image sways sideways even when flying straight ahead. It seems to be the same software that controls all the commands and functions of these cheap drones.. I am convinced that there is nothing wrong with the material or that the arms are loose that hold the engines. Another thing I find sad is that there is a jerk (hack) in the video image when you pan. I also often notice the same problem when cars fit in front of the camera. The cars jerk and hack forward and it seems that there is a fault in the speed of the video storage for memory cards or for the mobile phone. Could it be that there are not enough fast memory cards? Is it the same problem if you lower the video quality? Frame rate: 25 fps should be enough for cars and bikes to pass, without them hacking forward? Is it not possible to increase the frame rate to 50 fps?
Hello captain, great review again, thinking of getting this for my first drone as it seems a very decent starting point. The only problem I have is after reading reviews about TOMTOP they have lots of very poor reviews. No issues that I have heard of. Normally people expect the Chinese companies to act like a European or North American company and they begin to panic. All of the Chinese companies are just big stores like AMAZON, so when you buy a drone, you can't ask for tech support. Also the price is so low on these drones that there is no warranty.

I have the pro model and if you sand the joy stick a litle it fits tight and never comes out. Before I sanded them it was hard to get them in and they would hardly stay in
I noticed that the altitude hold was a little off. It bobbed up and down quite a bit. Once again, your parks are awesome!! I miss your distance flights in real time. It was like flying the drone myself and was interesting to see how far they really went. The first thing I noticed was "it's the beast!" 🤣👍 Great video Capt. And our leaves are turning colors now also..
No fish eye! Lowest price I've ever seen on a drone with no fisheye. This is a great buy for the money - wow! Video and photos are actually decent. And 26 min flight time. I already own a Mavic Mini but may have to get one of these too. :)
I think that sound is a gimbal heating method I believe the company who makes the gimal added a friction heating process by vibrating the gimbal mechanism to heat it up as it needs to heated slightly for operation in colder climates. I could be wrong but I believe I watched a video about it
I tried a $200 drone. Too many issues with the app, wifi, compatibility. And if you diligently search FB marketplace and ebay you can get a mavic air 1 for $400 ish. and I did snag a mavic air 2 for $725. And I gotta tell you, saving up and getting a DJI is WORTH it. The flying smoothness, obstacle avoidance and just overall quality. I like to save money where I can,but there is a reason why DJI is far and away the market leader... and I am anti apple and iPhone... but yeah. the mavis air 1 and 2.. really worth the money. Especially if you plan on making ANY money with the drone, selling photos and or videos.
Since apparently notices don't go out for edited comments let me say this again. I got mine in today and guess what? IT HAS A SD CARD SLOT RIGHT BEHIND THE CAMERA!!!. Also I played with it a little inside, no flying just running through the app and connecting and calibrating and so on. When I hit the record or picture buttons I got a warning there was no media, and there was nothing in the slot. So yea it looks like the PRO 2 has record to SD on board. I will try some recording when I get a chance.
All the "Beast" type we'll lable them are actually really great and easy to modify. I've had mine for a few months now and she's always came back but they're a bit noisy prop wise
Am I correct that these batteries, as received will not fit in any charger you show on your video showing chargers? But they could be modified so they could be plugged into one, letting them be charged faster. Thank you for your earlier fast reply. Tom
You can modify any lipo battery to connect to any type of charger, but honestly it may not be worth the effect unless your drone was massively expensive and so were the batteries.
Another great review, Cap'n! Interesting drone, definitely good for the price. I see a little jello in the video, but definitely far less than my Eachine E511s. That said, the family surprised me yesterday with a Mavic Mini for an early birthday present, so my current drone dreams are nicely fulfilled. Hoping for good weather tomorrow to get out and fly it :-).
depth of field / focal length seems to be fuzzy on cheaper drones? up high looks like stable image but still kinda fuzzy? i'm sure its at least partly due to my screen resolution, but the better camera drones do look nicer on my screen...
It's arrived :) Ive already taken my uk licence test etc. printed labels for the drone, i wont get out until tomorrow or Sunday, all 3 batteries fully charged:) the one downside is the manual, while it looks good its so small i cant read nice its so small i cant read it. I cant find a PDF version

When it says satellites, what is searching for them, my Phone, the Drone or the hand controller? While I did eventually manage to get 7 Satellites showing on the controller at one point I was unable to get the app out of OFS mode (i believe Mode1)

But in the video i see no wind, not like i have here. I can maybe only fly once or twice a week if i'm lucky, due to the wind being too strong.
I forgot to ask. How much power consumption does the signal receiver and transmitter use?? Is it significant enough to deplete the batteries faster with more power?
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 with that, out of curiosity and my lack of your knowledge, how come they can't get use their remotes to get better distances with these drones instead of using our phones. It can't be that expensive to add a few chips and use more power consumption to get better distances. I just feel that with today's tech that they could be doing so much better, or is this what they're actually doing and I'm asking for way too much at this point of the game? Or is it trust they don't feel that it's necessary with these drones?
@@SeasparrowDD979 Correct, it all comes down to cost. This is why budget drones also require a compass calibration each time they power on. There is no great amount of tech in them since everything is on a budget with a profit still to be made.

@@SeasparrowDD979 For wifi units like this there are products called wifi repeaters. Not really worth the expense in comparison to what is paid for the drone.
I am having problems unlocking the drone. Also, when I calibrate it says not connected to phone, but on phone settings it shows the drone connected. I have flown it once.. Just learning all the features.. but now trying it again, it does not go thru the calibration setup.?? Any ideas? Enjoy your videos.. Thank You.
Ok, thanks for sharing your experience. One final question. I have read that a private/hobby drone has to be registered at the FAA that includes a $5 charge. Then one video said they were no longer doing that. Can you tell me the correct requirements. I’m too old to get locked up.
I had similar drone with almost the same remote .on the back the top left button is speedmodes... next is for the landing....on the right are the gimbal controls for up and down
Noticed an odd jitter in the footage. Was that due to 24fps and your video being filmed in 4k? I'm looking for a budget drone for doing some filming that I don't want to risk using my good drone.
All resolutions are checked by me for accuracy in my editing software. What is shown on screen is the correct resolution. Remember that just because a resolution is 2k or 4k it does not mean it is at a high bit rate with a $500 camera lens.

Price depends on your country. It is very inexpensive. I can't help you because you have to click on the links for you to get the price. If you are new to RUclips, you have to expand the section under the video to see the links (every video on RUclips is like this).
Same way you exit any program. Since you did not mention if you are using Android or IOS and which version of each, I’m gonna guess you use only the basic features of a phone. Perhaps have someone good with phones help you out.

I can get the motors to spin the props but even when I try to get it to auto Liftoff...it just sits there... I can't get the motors to Rev up no matter what I try. (I have had this CSJ-X7 for almost a year and haven't flown it yet)...and today I decided to just get the motors to spin so that I could drain the batteries and recharge them...but that's about all I got it to do ! I appreciate your getting back to me !
@@Snailmailtrucker it sounds like you need to be outside in an open area and do a compass calibration. The drone won’t fly unless one is done correctly.

If you are a realtor, then you need the DJI MAVI MINI. If you wish to take photos for realtors and get paid, then you need at minimum the DJI MAVIC AIR 2 or DJI MAVIC 2 PRO. No one in the world in their right state of mind would pay you for photos from this drone. If you have any photography knowledge, you'd easily understand why. This is more of a drone for you to have fun with your family taking video of them and photos of them for your personal use.

Nice drone only 123.99 pounds in UK. Very similar to the jjrcx12 even the carry case is like the jjrcx12 bag. Any way good crimbo pressie for the price.
I keep wanting to get a Hubsan Zino 2, but my savings towards this keep getting shredded by unexpected expenses, so maybe I will compromise and get this one instead -- because of the 3-axis gimbal. The camera on this is adequate, too, so that's a plus.

I'd agree, be great to get to 50 or 60fps. Heck even 30fps for all intents and purposes of most people will do just fine.

Question : the specs list a main camera and a bottom camera. How would I use the bottom camera ?
Just select it in the App. Bottom camera is low resolution. I’ve shown it in other reviews of similar drones.

When it says satellites, what is searching for them, my Phone, the Drone or the hand controller? While I did eventually manage to get 7 Satellites showing on the controller at one point I was unable to get the app out of OFS mode (i believe Mode1)
@@TheBearUK Sats are what your drone is picking up when you are outside in an open area.

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 with that, out of curiosity and my lack of your knowledge, how come they can't get use their remotes to get better distances with these drones instead of using our phones. It can't be that expensive to add a few chips and use more power consumption to get better distances.
I just feel that with today's tech that they could be doing so much better, or is this what they're actually doing and I'm asking for way too much at this point of the game? Or is it trust they don't feel that it's necessary with these drones?
@@SeasparrowDD979 Correct, it all comes down to cost. This is why budget drones also require a compass calibration each time they power on. There is no great amount of tech in them since everything is on a budget with a profit still to be made.

@@SeasparrowDD979 For wifi units like this there are products called wifi repeaters. Not really worth the expense in comparison to what is paid for the drone.
I am having problems unlocking the drone. Also, when I calibrate it says not connected to phone, but on phone settings it shows the drone connected. I have flown it once.. Just learning all the features.. but now trying it again, it does not go thru the calibration setup.?? Any ideas? Enjoy your videos.. Thank You.
Sounds like the wrong app is being used. Read the instructions to be sure.

Ok, thanks for sharing your experience. One final question. I have read that a private/hobby drone has to be registered at the FAA that includes a $5 charge. Then one video said they were no longer doing that. Can you tell me the correct requirements. I’m too old to get locked up.

I had similar drone with almost the same remote .on the back the top left button is speedmodes... next is for the landing....on the right are the gimbal controls for up and down

Noticed an odd jitter in the footage. Was that due to 24fps and your video being filmed in 4k? I'm looking for a budget drone for doing some filming that I don't want to risk using my good drone.
It was due to the fact this is a budget drone with a 3 axis gimbal

Just regarding the video resolution - I think that it is closer to 1080 (1920x1080) - rather than to 2k (which is 2560x1440)
All resolutions are checked by me for accuracy in my editing software. What is shown on screen is the correct resolution. Remember that just because a resolution is 2k or 4k it does not mean it is at a high bit rate with a $500 camera lens.
Is the shudder/stutter I see in the video because of RUclips or do you see it in the sdCard footage too?

How do you Exit that H Fun Pro Program on your phone without having to shut the phone off ?
Same way you exit any program. Since you did not mention if you are using Android or IOS and which version of each, I’m gonna guess you use only the basic features of a phone. Perhaps have someone good with phones help you out.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for your reply...my phone was acting up and wasn't doing anything that it was supposed to do at that particular time....but I am having a problem with my CSJ-X7 not wanting to Fly. I can get the motors to spin the props but even when I try to get it to auto Liftoff...it just sits there... I can't get the motors to Rev up no matter what I try.
(I have had this CSJ-X7 for almost a year and haven't flown it yet)...and today I decided to just get the motors to spin so that I could drain the batteries and recharge them...but that's about all I got it to do !

@@Snailmailtrucker it sounds like you need to be outside in an open area and do a compass calibration. The drone won’t fly unless one is done correctly.

For taking photos for realtors and people wanting an aerial photo of their farm or homestead, would you recommend this drone or the jjrc x9ps?
If you are a realtor, then you need the DJI MAVI MINI. If you wish to take photos for realtors and get paid, then you need at minimum the DJI MAVIC AIR 2 or DJI MAVIC 2 PRO. No one in the world in their right state of mind would pay you for photos from this drone. If you have any photography knowledge, you'd easily understand why. This is more of a drone for you to have fun with your family taking video of them and photos of them for your personal use.

I have not tried it but as long as the battery fits, then it sill work since the voltage is similar.

For low cost budget drones there is no expensive charger included, so you are stuck with plugging them into a USB outlet to charge

I keep wanting to get a Hubsan Zino 2, but my savings towards this keep getting shredded by unexpected expenses, so maybe I will compromise and get this one instead -- because of the 3-axis gimbal. The camera on this is adequate, too, so that's a plus.
Fimi A3? Doesn't fold and 'only' 1080P. But very stable video.
Or get the original Zino/Zino Pro perhaps? Even better, get a used original mavic pro.
