Love your videos! Just a small correction for you: it’s pronounced fianKetto not fianCHetto. I figured this was especially appropriate since you were playing an Italian lol. Congrats on 2000!!
Hey Richard! Yeah I've heard people say both so I was not sure to be honest. It seems people are saying the same words for others things differently as an. For example: pirc defense, I've heard grandmasters say "perk", but apparently it's "peer-keu" so that's how I say it now... I'll try to remember this but it's hard to change a habit haha
@ oh totally! I get it. I hear even grandmasters pronounce Pirc a few different ways. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter much. We anglicize and adopt a lot of foreign language words and sometimes the mispronunciation becomes the norm. However I feel like in most cases with Italian words, the “ch” is almost always a hard C sound, as in “Chianti” or “Chiara”
He probably wasn't cheating that game. He just played strong fundamental moves, and he activated his final piece with Rae1, which happened to win a pawn. as a logical follow up, he managed to get a fork and 1-0 was to follow.
@@andreureigduart7063 yeah, you're right, I didn't see it for a bit, my brain was thinking of other stuff, I'm not trying to hide my ability, I def have so much to still work on, I think often I'm thinking about the wrong things in a game!
Anyone can definitely get to 2k with a bit of persistene. It's not about one game though, it's being able to play well consistently. Maybe this was just one bad game? I would hope I would spot that kind of thing more often than I would miss it
Owen, what about trying out the best of both worlds with some 10 minute + increment games, like 10+5 or 10+10? I get 15+10 can be long but you can just shorten it a bit and make it longer than 10 flat.
On chess.com I believe the only other format is 10+5, I can give it a go from time to time for sure! I think i'll switch it up depending on how I'm feeling for the day!
@@Blunder_Man ah, right, I think I was thinking about lichess doing the 10+10 but I think trying out some 10+5 games for a video and seeing how you and the audience likes it is worth a shot. It could be the new bis.

@@Blunder_Man Now you may be getting what I am trying to say. Does it really matter if they cheat? You have the opportunity to learn from your loss or mistakes if you will. Ngl maybe that was indeed the game of their life, but holy shit is the queen trap line suspicious... especially only thinkingnfor maybe a couple of seconds beforehand. I get why you think they're a cheater
opponent spent 3 minutes in a 10 minute game with no-increment calculating the queen trap line. that seems more legit than your average cheater. the only difficult move to find in that game from white was the queen trap. the rest i feel like should be very standard for someone rated 2000. f3 is not hard to find because you provoke him to play f3 when you move your bishop to g4. maybe g4 is ok if it actually stopped opponent from playing f3, but it doesn't instead it just throws gasoline on the fire because now f3 comes with a tempo on the bishop. a lot of your play was encouraging your opponent to play the best moves in the position.
Ngl this game was nothing complicated for the opponent, he played the best moves in a position thag never transposed into something more complicated. Now if he played some insane tactical moves that went beyond any 2000s instincts or calculative ability, yes, maybe he'd be cheating.
i checked their games. a lot of it is losing by obvious blunders or sacrificing material for a plus .5 advantage with 10 seconds of thinking. it looks sus i would report
Imagine being your opponent, playing a fantastic game, and then seeing a youtube video accusing you of being a cheater in the title. I much prefer how Eric Rosen handles these situations in his speedrun videos. Doesn't make any accusations and doesn't even allude to the fact that there may be cheating going on. The only time he'll say something about it is when the account is closed for fair play violation. Otherwise, he just accepts defeat, gives credit to his opponent, and moves on.
