Lovely old timewarp hotel, too, complete w/creaking floorboards, skeleton keys, & your very own chifferobe! Marvelous. Even your run-of-the-mill new chifferobes go for around $1500. My Mississippi grandma had one when I was little. I always wondered whatever became of it ... I'm a sucker for antiques, I suppose because I'm fast becoming one. Anyway, I hope u get some good footage on yr haunted WV tour. Enjoy!

The floors in my house creak like that too. They are the original hardwood floors from when the house was built in 1945. It's my favorite part of the house.
Everything is so beautiful and quaint (not in the condescending way, just to clarify). We may move to WV in a few years, and being a fairly inclusive city girl, few things frighten me more (What is there to do? Will I miss all the good concerts? What if I need some pens at 3am? etc.), but I look forward to seeing historical, offbeat, and beautiful things there now. Thank you. Also Will has been a great addition, and I hope we can keep him!

my husband worked in point pleasant for a couple months around 4 years ago , I went up there to visit a few times and stayed for a few days at a time. it was definitely a weird place, I went to the moth man museum and all that, I would recommend stopping by there. it's pretty interesting, that town is pretty weird though. just an eerie feeling there.
Dan if you ever get down to Louisiana you should check out The Myrtles in St. Francisville. It's an antebellum plantation house that's supposedly one of the most haunted houses in the country.

Two years ago I stayed in an abandoned 1970's hospital turned into a hotel-supposedly haunted. It didn't look like it was a hospital because it was very well flipped. It's in a very small town right outside of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. It was really cool to stay in and I would go back.
I grew up right across the river from there. West Virginia is chock full of places like Point Pleasant that seemingly never progressed past the 50's. Especially Logan. Very cool to see you're doing a video there. is the Cincinnati Mall video coming up soon?
My boyfriend and I stayed there for the weekend once. It was amazing! Was hoping to catch something on film but didn't. We explored it an in some spots it felt creepy. And I always felt a presence but never seen anything. I would love to go back some day an stay for a whole week. Point Pleasant has allot of history. AND! My bf is the great great great grandson of Chief Cornstalk. Truly an amazing place!
I really need to visit this place sometime. I would feel right at home there as the place I currently reside in is a large mansion built in 1885 that was turned into some very nice apartments. So basically it would be like where I live X 60.
I think the best documentary as far as the Mothman goes would be "Eyes of the Mothman", it was very well done, and basically left it open to interpretation. Creepy Hotel by the way!.
Thanks a lot. I'm going to have nightmares about that elevator for weeks now. Room isn't so bad. Like a little apartment. That elevator creeped me out. I hate elevators. Always film the bathrooms...it adds a nice creep,factor lol! 👍😆
I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this particular hotel was haunted. It looks to be quite old, and definitely has that great charm the older hotels have over modern day hotels. Enjoy your stay.

loved it! but I love those type of hotels. if you ever go back to NYC visit The Merchant House museum. A home from the 1800s and I use skeletons keys to open and close doors. And yes it is haunted.
Maybe somebody could answer this: Is this the same hotel from the Mothman episode of the show "SciFi Investigates." The show lasted for a few episodes about ten years ago. This paranormal investigation show included Boston Rob who was supposed to be the token skeptic. I remember a scene where the team has checked into a hotel in Point Pleasant and Boston Rob starts yelling that he saw a ghost (off camera). What really happened who can say but I wonder if this is the same hotel.

Look around and after 4:35. There clearly appears to be one of those shadowy figures sitting on that bed you're pointing the camera at right in front of you! Possible ghost? Or is it just your shadow casting on to it? I just find it funny that you mentioned that this hotel is supposedly haunted and it appears you have evidence right there!
