3am is called the witching hour. It is the time of the day that most paranormal activity happens, so the door making noise at that time makes sense to me.
Jacob the man you didn't know who bbn it was in the sitting room is Lorne Greene. He starred in Bonanza. It was the longest running TV show until the Simpson's blew it out of the water.
I stayed here last Halloween and man, even if you don't believe in such things, this place just FEELS haunted in the best ways possible. It's just so beautifully old, and when the sun goes down and the lights go out, it's a genuinely eerie experience. We were on the second floor with our window directly overlooking the Mothman Museum across the street, which looks downright spooky with nothing but a lone streetlamp lighting it up. Glad you got to check it out! I can't wait to go back!
Omg. That hotel is so creepy and scary! Those pictures in your and Kristie hotel room would freak me out. Fun and scary place to stay!!! Love this video!!!🎃💀☠👻👻
The hotel is deserted when the Mothman Festival isn't going on. The first time I stayed there in 2017, the hotel was empty. The second time in 2019, there was one other guest on another floor. It's an amazing experience.
I feel for you Kristy! My husband was a marine & was basically conditioned to sleep after & through almost anything....He goes to sleep easily if we’re fighting, & I’m the only one that ever hears things at night outside or inside even tornado warnings. I hate it, but always tell myself if being able to sleep is one of someone’s worst attributes your doing pretty good.
When I worked at Cook's Communications in the early 1970's here in Fresno, I worked as a PBX operator on a similar switch board as the one in this video. I'd sometimes drop phone calls as the equipment wasn't reliable, and people would cuss me out!
Love the whole Mothman Legend! We stayed at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park CO. The hotel that Steven King stayed at when he wrote the Shining. Great video as always Jacob. Keep them coming!
This is the 1st video where Ive seen you and Christie in it 2gether all through out. You guys make such a cute couple. I can tell she treats you well, and you treat her the same. I can imagine all of us being travel friends (in my head).
It’s good to see you both doing stuff together! I’m glad thing are going good. Enjoy the Mothman festival. Also please come to Piedmont SC to Mad World! Hit me up and I will take you..
The eyes are closed, that picture is a death picture funerals from west to east in the time of the first pictures, they used to pictures to remember loved ones, the death pictures was cheaper than getting real pictures done, and the chemicals also wont hurt a dead person .. BOO!!!! Cool place to go Mothman west Virginia should be be its name Creepy and enjoyable, thank you and your wife too For filming these freaky fun hotel and haunted pillow room
I really love that your wife is accompanying you on more adventures. 🤔 Maybe you both could merge forces/channels and become the plural, "The CapetbaggerS?" It's an idea!💡 You both truly have chemistry, she is on the down low hilarious, with her expressions and her replies to you..you both are very relatable. Thank you for another great installment to your channel!
My husband and I stayed for a week between Christmas and January 1st 2010-2011. No Ghost was there. But tons of orbs in the 4th floor ballroom. We had a suite on the 3rd floor around the corner from the elevator..Really no ghosts ever bothered us.
Cool vlog and hotel. Looks like you and your wife are having a blast on this trip. I guess you never watched the re-runs of the old "Bonanza" show. That was Lorne Green in that one photo you made a coment about not knowing who he is. He played the dad (Ben Cartwright) to Adam (Pernell Roberts). Hoss (Don Blocker) and Little Joe (Michael Landon). You saw the Bonanza toys in our Toyland. That painting of that women with the eyes thoght were opening and closing was painted to creat that illuision. They use that on alot of those Jesus paintings.
What a neat place. Those pictures are really creepy. Now there is a hotel that embraces its haunted side. That spaniel picture is from the 50s . I had that in my room as a child. Also the girl with a cat /boy dog are old as they were popular in the late 40s early 50s. The man you didn't recognize was Lorne Green and he was an early radio /tv star. His main role as the Father on Bonanza. Have fun. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
It was Really Awesome & an Honor to meet you I’m glad you like the idea of the Collab that I said with me & Friend IG Illusional for Camden Park & Cultural Center We will definitely attend the event that’s coming up at Camden Park
I stayed in that room back in 2017 with two friends. We filmed an EVP session and there are at least two spirits in that room - a woman who identified herself as "Missy" and a man we called "Mr. Hurt" because, when we asked "Are you going to let us sleep tonight?" he replied "I'll hurt you." You can see the footage in the documentary "Homecoming" on the Podcast 1289 RUclips channel.
Jacob, while you're in WV please go by Harper's Ferry to give us a report on the Hilltop House Hotel. Dan Bell did videos from there some time ago and I'm curious to know if it's still standing or torn down. Oh the guy in the photo was Lorne Greene; Bonanza, Battlestar Galactica (the original series).
What is behind the picture? Maybe that pic has cutout eyes where someone in a secret room can watch you like in some of those cheesy old horror movies.😁 Don't feel bad Kristy, I don't sleep well in hotels haunted or not.😉
Hey man! I love your videos, I had a suggestion! There's a haunted house in Ironton Ohio called "Doctor Dekay's House of Screams" and I think you should check it out!
Hey, do you have any plans of checking out the worlds oddity expo in Baltimore this November? It’s in the haunted lord Baltimore hotel and it’s within walking distance of Edgar Allen Poe’s grave.
Hey guys. Jacob that Man on the picture is Lorne Green from Bonanza.😃 Hi Kristi🖐️🌹👋👋👋. I didn't know that there were so many Lorne Green comments 😂. that place is SUPER CREEPY!!!😭😱😫🤢🤬
I went to the mothman festival to see you guys but I didn't see you. I was really bummed. Where was your booth?? Your my favorite RUclipsr, I really wanted to see you, so did my grandkids.
Question: Does the hotel have warm water for showering? Are the beds comfortable? If yes to both questions, I'm checking in. Plus I got earplugs. I'll be fine.
I stayed in that room the next night (Sunday night). I was headed back to South Carolina from Hearsefest in Howell Michigan. I feel asleep on the couch watching Twilight Zone. Woke up took a shower and slept in the bed. Nothing happened, didn’t even hear any sounds.
When I see him I think of battlestar galactica.

That hotel is awesome. I love how they have kept it original all these years. Definitely creepy. Great vlog!
I met n saw you!!!! I'm sooo happy!!!! Thanks for the pic. I just love you n your wife. You guys are awesome!!!
6:58 The decor in this place is like stepping into a time capsule. Love it!
Dan Bell and Will somehow got the whole hotel to themselves for one night a few years ago. Check it out!! Ghostly fun.
Loved that episode!
Yea...it was spooky because they were alone. It was a great vlog
And it snowed lol... They did a nice job as well. I love this video so much because I got to things Dan missed ☺
The hotel is deserted when the Mothman Festival isn't going on. The first time I stayed there in 2017, the hotel was empty. The second time in 2019, there was one other guest on another floor. It's an amazing experience.
That painting of the lady in your room is just plain spooky.
I kept waiting for 2 creepy little girls to pop up at the end of the hallway. 'Come & play with Us, Jacob.'
'Forever and ever and ever.'
LOL!!!!!
Unless it was a compressed air canon he'd just shrug it off with dont jump scare me bro
All the creepy paintings in that room are going to work on your nerves, haunted or not. Cool looking place. I liked your tour!
I feel for you Kristy! I love staying in old historic hotels like this.
The picture you didn't recognize was Lorne Green of Bonanza fame.
omg I lost all faith in Jacob at that point.. no .. I lost faith in humanity ! lol
I was like WHAT ?????
Come OOOON, Carpetbagger...you (HAVE) to recognize Lil Joe's pa
When I see him I think of battlestar galactica.
I was going to say the same :-)
Hey. Maybe he's never seen Bonanza or Battlestar
Kristy shoves the bag in the elevator and was like "have a good time!" LMAO LOL LOL LOL
I've seen this room on other paranormal shows. I remember seeing those pictures. You guys are SO lucky!!
This place is incredible! I’d love to stay there! I’m living for the creepy art around your room.
I remember when Dan visited - it's on my bucket list :)
All the spirits awake when they have the hotel shaking at night with all them skins slappin
Fallout 76 video game has Point Pleasant and an enemy Mothman. Keep the videos coming Jacob much appreciated! 🤠
This is the 1st video where Ive seen you and Christie in it 2gether all through out. You guys make such a cute couple. I can tell she treats you well, and you treat her the same. I can imagine all of us being travel friends (in my head).
Christie pulling out the Amityville knowledge, and I bet that she knows who Lorne Greene is!
We just came back from staying there yesterday. Cute little town and lovely hotel. We actually got our girls to play board games with us.
The “Old Hag” painting looked like Michael Caine dressed in drag.
Michael Caine in drag in “Dressed to Kill”?
i adore this hotel and would love to stay there!! i agree with kristy- definitely reminiscent of a funeral home. strangely comforting though!
Bet they had great sex that night, huh?
It’s good to see you both doing stuff together! I’m glad thing are going good. Enjoy the Mothman festival. Also please come to Piedmont SC to Mad World! Hit me up and I will take you..

I really love that your wife is accompanying you on more adventures. 🤔 Maybe you both could merge forces/channels and become the plural, "The CapetbaggerS?" It was great seeing you and your wife at the festival. You guys are a cute couple. ❤
When your hair stands up on the back of your neck, they say you have passed through a spirit. Not sure if it’s true or not. Loved the video have fun.

I used to work on one of the old plug board switchboards way back in the early 70's! Similar to the one here, but a little different.
Totally going to book a night or two here when it's not packed for the festival. Awesome meeting you in person there, btw!
Those eyes in that pic are crazy!!
Ikr 😱
Walk out the hotel and down by the river and look at the cool painting on the wall at the river walk
Dan bell lowe motel - he went into that same room when the hotel was empty

While typing this. I am across the hall in 316. Captain Jim's room!
Good one Jacob 😎👍🏻

Jacob, while you're in WV please go by Harper's Ferry to give us a report on the Hilltop House Hotel. Dan Bell did videos from there some time ago and I'm curious to know if it's still standing or torn down. Jacob as a VIP is second only to Mothy himself 😎
Wow that's a really nice place. It looks so cool. I want to go there now.
Just watching you two there gave me the creeps, I'm with Kristie i wouldn't of slept a wink, one eye open one eye shut xxx 😊
Good times be had by all
That was funny! Enjoyed the video.
My parents had that same tiger picture! Only theirs had a more ornate frame.
Love Cee from the little haunted cottage in Ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
How do you not recognize LORNE GREEN?! Battlestar Galactica, Bonanza...omagerd!
That motel gives me the creeps
Cool, classy, hotel.
Amityville horror is a great movie. The husband would always wake up at exactly 3:15 am. The time the son killed his whole family there.
What is behind the picture? Maybe that pic has cutout eyes where someone in a secret room can watch you like in some of those cheesy old horror movies.😁
Don't feel bad Kristy, I don't sleep well in hotels haunted or not.😉
Hey man! I love your videos, I had a suggestion! There's a haunted house in Ironton Ohio called "Doctor Dekay's House of Screams" and I think you should check it out!
7:10 how do you not know who Lorne Greene is?
Scary cool fun !!!☻🖤☠💀👻⚰🦇🕷🕸
They're deliberately playing up the "haunted" reputation. They went out of the way to make the place look creepy.
Genius
Yeah, no money for upgrades or deep cleaning. Haunted 👻
Power of suggestion. Got to plant those seeds so people will get themselves worked up and their mind will play tricks on them.
I like your videos good job keep up the good work man I'm only 13 years old with a young heart❤️❤️❤️❤️ and like I said keep up the good work
Did you here the quick white noise at 9:28 in your video when you were talking about the temp difference..
I’m just like kristy, I wouldn’t be able to sleep either
ok for a sec I thought you gone ghost hunter on us lol
During Dan and Will's visit, they step into room 316 and the first thing Dan utters is "This room is creepy."
3am is the Japanese 'witching hour'. They believe that hour is when all the spooks come out.
In Japan, you can also buy used panties from a vending machine. Go figure.
That place looked super creepy!!!
Hey, do you have any plans of checking out the worlds oddity expo in Baltimore this November? It’s in the haunted lord Baltimore hotel and it’s within walking distance of Edgar Allen Poe’s grave.
That's Lorne Green "Ben Cartwright" from Bonanza in the picture.
Awesome video
In the sitting area, that was a photo of lorne greene from bonanza tv series.
I feel like I can smell the "oldness" of that hotel through the video. Awesome video as always Jacob!
It's quite beautiful!
Dan Bell did some videos here.
Yes I immediately recognized it...hey that's where Dan got drunk and goofed off in the hotel!!!! Going to go rewatch that next
@@exoticbutters9867 I rewatched it too!
Even though I don't believe in any of those ghost type things, nor ghosts themselves, I could never stay here it freaks me out
Hey guys. Jacob that Man on the picture is Lorne Green from Bonanza.😃 Hi Kristi🖐️🌹👋👋👋. I didn't know that there were so many Lorne Green comments 😂. that place is SUPER CREEPY!!!😭😱😫🤢🤬

So cool! I want to staythere
I see someone commented before me. I was going to say, you don’t know Ben Cartwright from Bonanza??? That’s Loren Green.
lorne
I noticed that after I hit the send button. Can I blame autocorrect on here? I know it messes with me in other places. Lol
He also told his wife he never watched Amityville Horror
I stayed in that room the next night (Sunday night). I was headed back to South Carolina from Hearsefest in Howell Michigan. I feel asleep on the couch watching Twilight Zone. Woke up took a shower and slept in the bed. Nothing happened, didn’t even hear any sounds.
My great grandmother was from point pleasant
