Was stationed in Hawaii, went hiking quite a few times by myself. Yeah, got lost in bamboo groves, got lost probably less than a mile from beach, got lost near a waterfall, got stuck in the mud about waste high, etc....
Just excellent. Pete is such an approachable guy too. I love the Man Against Horse t-shirt too. I ran that race with him in 2021 and he gave me some awesome advice for dealing with plantar faucitis I was experiencing.
Pete is an enjoyable athlete to follow. I enjoyed the Cocodona recap with his observations and this performance was fantastic. I am fairly sure the chicken is now the state bird of Hawaii. I am not sure I am joking. They are everywhere.
This is where I train and love the technical parts of it. 30, I can, 100, certainly will take a lot of training. These trails are really technical in a different way that European or mainland are.
Congratulations to Pete! The terrain and the distance is challenging enough before factoring in the humidity (ugh!) so to my mind, even a bigger achievement when you don't live and train in it!
I was fortunate to visit Oahu (same island) recently and get some running in... video on my channel ;-). It was so pretty there! I was amazed at how green everything is! Watching this video makes me miss it. Please keep up the "Aravaipa Racing Team" spotlight race videos!
Wow, sorry but it took me two minutes to decide that the style of this video was too hokey and the main person profiled was completely uninvolving. Pass.
Pete Mortimer does the hardest things in the world with a smile on his face. Congrats on the huge effort!

This was awesome! More of Pete, please. Perhaps a trip with him up Humphreys this winter?
Enjoyed this! Would love to get videos on the other Aravaipa runners and the races that are doing, too!

Where can I find the music in this video?
Cupcake Delivery by Dylan Sitts
Anybody know the song name?
Nevermind. Found it: Cupcake Delivery by Dylan Sitts
the ubiquitous royalty-free stock music distracts a bit from the narrative
Had turn it off half way through because the music was making me nauseous and angry.
