the fact is, the machine shown in real footage at 03:54 is actually an EDM machine, not a cnc milling machine. So the liquid is named "dielectric liquid" which make EDM process is possible. Coolant liquids are abit different.
Thier making a hole cnc machines can use different coolent liquids. You can see the bit coming out a little with an edm machine (wire edm) you would see little sparks and the process is usually done completely under deionized water
It's because employers don't value us. I've been a machinist for 15 years at job shops and unless you get into a good company it is incredibly stressful and underpaid for the mental strength and experience needed. Also, being an operator can be a difficult even more thankless job and you should walk a day in their shoes before saying they don't count. We're all machinists, you've just been given the opportunity to strengthen your abilities.
@@tibontibon5772many reasons, but I think it's because we're a very broad career pay wise, you usually start very low on the pay scale (which can be lower than a forklift driver), but eventually make our way up to great pay. However some people cannot afford to invest in themselves for that long, whether it's from bills, mistakes, or systemic poverty many have to take the deadend higher initial pay.
@profpinch yeah I was looking into going the 5th axis or metal 3D printing and cutting route. Now I'm applying to be a heavy equipment operator because it was my childhood dream and I might as well try now.

He makes it sound so simple LOL. Just give it code. It takes alot of skill to get great finishes even on the best machines. In the past one had to operate manual mills before operating cnc. But now the 2 are so different. Even at the best shops they can scrap alot of metal a week

Thanks for this video. I only know of "CNC" because of Haas F1 Team (fr Haas Automation). Sooo I guess Haas makes the CNC machines, then JLCPCB is the one using them. 🤔
This is how a lot of ancient vases and statues were made from very hard rocks. Then Egyptian kings found these vases and statues and scratched their names on them. And for some reason people think the Egyptians created these things because they scratched their names on these precision made objects.
The inside of pump blades is far more aggressive because it covers a smaller rotation area. If the outside of faster spinning blade was as aggressive, there would be cavitation of fluids.
While this is a great basic course on the subject and should suffice in 70% of all of its content, it lacks some key components for a proper understanding of the subject if it is aimed at someone with little or no knowledge. Also there's a major explanation error on 2.5 vs 3 axis CNC. Here are some suggestions from me on those parts. - Add a line on what machining actually is: Removing material, usually very precisely, from metal blanks. - Add a short section on lathes and routers, as CNC machines combine these two technologies. - Note that CNC is basically the use of a drill to remove material from a workpiece of any kind by very precisely pointing it and holding it very still. - Add an animation of how a 2-axis CNC positions its router using simple tapes, because 2.5, 3 up to 5-axis CNCs are more or less just adding specific mechanisms on top of each other, each with its own speciality. You don't need animations on these higher-count axes in this video, but I would prefer an explanation of the principle of how the router just moves around. - G-Code: Add a line to show the X-Y-Z positions in space. - Animation error: M code makes the 2nd and 3rd line appear immediately after the 1st line. - Slow down the animation or repeat it with arrow pointers when you say that on the 2.5D CNC Z movements exclude X and Z, as the movement ends too late there. Also, the following plunge of the cutter into the material is for 3-axis machining, which falsifies the previous sentence. The cutter suddenly moves in all 3 directions in this part of the video. - Add a line about 2.5 and 3D machines not being able to remove material from underneath the workpiece because the cutter head cannot rotate and is fixed in its vertical position. This is important to understand the difference to 4 and 5 axis CNC machining. - 3-axis machining is not explained as the animation on 2.5 is simply inconsistent as stated above. - Regarding G-code from CAD software, please explain that G-code is a kind of "list of where to move things in the machine and in what order". I would also add that CAD software can translate 3D shapes into a "recipe" for a CNC machine. You can modify this "recipe" by hand. - You might want to add a note that certain CNC machines offer templates for simple machining tasks such as "make a screw hole there", "make a cube this size", "make an engraving from an image" and more, which do not require any special software at all. However, this is optional. - For the 5D explanation, add its operation like a traditional lathe. On a lathe, everything has to be measured to within a thousandth of a millimetre or even more. Changing the tool with this precision requires several manual steps to maintain the accuracy, which the CNC takes care of by using electronic measurements everywhere with extremely high precision. Automatic tool change is nice to know, but it's more important to know that there is hardly a manual lathe in the world where you can go from turning to milling (manual machining) on the same machine, virtually instantly. This is what makes CNC so amazing: you can 'print' parts in batches with high precision, as opposed to manual work, which takes a long time to produce very few parts, albeit with similar precision, without the need for a highly experienced machinist - but most of the time you need a machinist to write a programme (CAD) for a new part. - I'd add a banana for scale for the tiny 5D machine, or somehow compare it directly to the big regular machine. Visually, I could not see the size difference in the video because of the monotone background. Please note that I still think this video is great in all aspects I did not touch! I just think the explanations here were not up to your usual standards.
Plenty of machines you can go Manual to cnc. Milltronics built their whole business on it. Same as hurco. Both have a conversational type programing where input answers to questions and don't need to know g code.
I think showing the 2 axis machine would have been better displayed with a laser engraver. Using a mill like that is using the third z axis to lift the tool in-between cuts.

You simplify so much that even though I am a software engineer and has no relation with mechanical engineering, still love you to watch these videos.
I wish you had a step by step online program with these videos, where I could learn mechanical and electrical engineering from the scratch.
Check the channel engineering mindset. It explains from basic to intermediate stuff
you should rename the video something like "2d vs 3d vs 4d vs 5d cnc explained !", you also need better quality more intriguing thumbnail.
Best kind of ad: educational.

I built CNC plotter last year. Using stepper motors from two DVD drive and servo motor.
More people need to understand Cnc because no one wants to be machinist anymore. Also operators don’t count toward that anyone can do that.
why people dont want to do it anymore?
"anyone can do that" wow I wonder why no one wants to work in machining anymore with altitudes like that towards the people they work with.

Machining compressor impeller is kind of a marvel engineering.
Video this very good.Thank you.
As a professional CNC machinist this video is like 50% accurate
Can I learn it and how long?
and what about the video is inaccurate?
Great Video Sir, 👍
You need to declare your sponsorships, this was bad
Lesics, the topics you cover are mind-blowing! Thank you!
Wonderful explanation 😊
Can you make a video on "How Chandrayaan 3 works" and the challenges in landing a spacecraft at south pole of moon

I wish he would use the word complicated as often. It's all very logical.

My friend! What program did you use to make the models and kinematics for this video?
You are doing an amazing job, thanks for sharing
Haven't had JLC anything yet but I will, thanks for the video.

How about a Moon lander or rover??
Try discussing Sosrobahu pierhead method, it looks interesting!!
not detail enough, you barely scratch the surface
Take a full course at 5-axis machining, or 5-axis modelling. You'll get all the detail you need! Duh!
