Front glass is removable on the H9, but is a pain to do so. Remove a couple o screws from the corners where it meet the side TG panel, and you're gold. The issue is that you pretty much need to lay the case on its side to do the bottom screws. Basically, only do if you really have to.
I have a black O11D Evo right now. It is truly a stunning, well-made case in almost every aspect. That said, I do think NZXT did a great job with this H9 Flow. Pros right out of the gate would be it has the "fishtank mod" stock and the bigger mesh holes do help with air flow. Price is right too. But I can't same much else beyond that because there are areas where it just doesn't surpass the Evo in my eyes. The case simply has too much dead space inside of it. Sure, a loop could use up some of that space but still. No grommets was a poor choice in my opinion. I see way too many builds in the Flow where I can literally see cables through the holes. And honestly, looking at it, the whole thing feels a little less spectscular looking to me. Not that it isn't a nice looking case, just that it looks like someone tried to copy the Evo from memory. Not a good or bad thing, just an observation. Whereas the Evo just looks so sleek and the components fill the space so well. I like that it is lower sitting and the RGB strip in the front is such a nice accent piece. Plus, the case is modular. The front glass can be swapped out for mesh with more fans. You have a GPU mount for the side. The case can be flipped. I/O can be moved. And after watching other build videos comparing the two, I just really liked that everything in the Evo felt like it has some heft/quality to it. As far as price, I know pricing fluctuates alot, but I paid $170 for my Evo at Newegg last December. I see that price frequently as well. So for that price, it would be a no brainer for me. Sure, you don't get the included fans, but chances are, whomever is buying one of these two cases is doing so because they already have a build in mind and have replacement fans already picked out. So overall, I prefer the Evo in almost every sense, other than the fact that the Evo has to be modified to look the same. Not hating on the Flow though. Solid case. And for those that don't want to modify their case, this case gives them the option to avoid that. Plus it is always good to have more options on the market.
I totally agree 😊 I haven’t seen too many cases that I like more than my evo. I just finished an NZXT H9 Flow blackout build and it looks…stunning. Such a great case, the airflow in particular is the icing on the cake, I can run my fans on much lower curves and still have really good CPU temps. I’ve got a Palit Gamerock 4090 Omniblack vertically mounted and it just looks lovely. They’ve honestly hit it out the park with the new case.
Really is an amazing case! Showcases all the parts inside really well and the airflow is definitely such a huge plus! Congrats on the build and thanks for watching 🙏
Generally hate seeing AIO tubes, and you did a good job at hiding them. Might have to try that approach in the Asus TUF GT-502, which is a more rugged clone of the 011.
Just finished building my h9 flow yesterday. Now I have better cpu temps than my 4000d airflow because I can mount my 240mm aio on side as intake. I did manage to overclock 13700kf to 5.6 and 4.4. It stayed around 60 when gaming.
Great video! Both rigs look awesome. Tbo, I've never seen an aio cooler fitted with hidden hoses before. The fact that the LL chassis made that mod possible has surely made it stand out from the crowd. Muchly, enjoyed all content :-). Cheers - Jass.

The reason for the “dead space” you mention is really obvious. White interior. There’s no visual block like there is in your painted Evo. White walls always create the perception of space, it’s why home interiors are painted in v light shades. If you get to work on the H9 with your spray cans you’ll all but solve the dead space issue since both cases are pretty close in volume.
Both cases look amazing but the CPU AIO on the Lian Li will have any air be stuck in the pump and will eventually damage/destroy it. Visually that is AMAZING to hide the tubing but I would be concerned about ruining the AIO pump.
I have that case and it's a great case to build in. But the front glass does come off, if you take the side glass off, there are 4 screws holding it in. There are also screws on the top and bottom that have to come out to remove the glass.
Thank you so much 😊 it’s a very custom PC with painted gpu, painted inside etc. glad it looks great to others as well! Funny enough, I copied the black inside for my case from NzXT and now they no longer do it 😂
@@BuildsWithV i like the idea of hiding aio hoses behind verticaly mouted gpu. Little detail but it enchances the clean look of the case. Not gonna lie, im inspired to build my own in a similar style.

Thanks for this video! I'm building mine next week and your video answered a lot of my question. BTW do you think it's possible on H9 to set the AIO waterlooling from NZXT like your Lian Li, I mean is it possible to hide all the pipe from the bottom like you did on Lian Li on this H9 ? Or pipe is too short maybe on this case ?

Hello. Im planning to paint white some fans (AQIRYS Aries) from black to white. The thing is that they have a rgb ring on both sides and I'm not sure is it would be possible to paint them without affecting that ring. Any tips?
@@JRDE56 that would look awesome. That was my debate back then too. But ended up with the black inside since I really enjoyed the look of the previous nzxt cases.
NZXT H9 is a cool case but with Lian Li getting ready to release the O11-D XL evo. The H9 is going to just be that probably cheaper case that’s less functional. So Lian Li is going to have the best Large, Medium and eventually small case for this kind of layout. Also when are they going to make the O11-D mini evo?
Is the h9 flow a solid choice if you don’t want to get the lian li cause you don’t want to modify, I heard a lot of people saying get the NV7 but heard it’s difficult to build in
@@BuildsWithV definitely set with that been watching your video a few times, for what I want it would be good, would you say the case is sturdy ? I heard people say it was flimsy
So on my H9 that is true but only because of the fans I chose, the back isn’t nice looking so I had no choice. Had the fans for a couple months and decided to use them for this project. On my 011 case, I have intake on the side and bottom and then the top and rear fans are exhaust
if im gonna put 2x 140mm fan on the side does it gonna look weird? I searched a lot but couldn't find any picture about it, everyone installing 3x120 on the side... talking about o11 evo btw :)
That's probably the one place I wouldn't put the 140s. I put two 140s towards the back on the top and they look good because they don't run into my side mount rad. Two 140s is about the width of the mobo so it doesn't look out of place.
I built in the H7 flow a while back and i hated that little bar they put where the 24pin goes it just gets in the way if I remember right it can be removed, I struggled! I was using white antec 24pin cables, i do like NZXT's new case but that bar would get me so mad lol.
@@BuildsWithV very late reply but the cable bar in every NZXT case can be removed. It is mainly a branding element but also a throwback to a time when NZXT was one of the few case companies people were building showy custom watercooling loops in. The "cable bar" as it is called was actually intended as a reservoir mount, hence the vertical slot to adjust the height depending on the size of the reservoir. only Olds like me will remember this tho.
@@lonefrontranger I did not know that, thanks for sharing 🙏 I’m 31 but didn’t get into full on building until my later 20s so that might be why I have no clue 😅
If this video did anything it made me cancel my order for the NZXT F120 RGB DUO fans and orde the Lian Li fans instead. I couldn't decided so it came down to which one wasn't on backorder.
temp decided by ambient temp sensor inside case/motherboard, good ones usually around 33c-40c, sufficient airflow usually 40-50c above that you need more fan those 20c will raise every single component temp inside case so really not a thing to ignore esp if you oc
I so appreciate this video but it's also confirming exactly all the things I like less about the H9 compared to the evo. I bought the H9 (but haven't started by build yet) because I figured it'd be much easier than modding the evo, but damn, I really do like the look of the evo so much more when comparing them directly >.
I feel you 😅 if it makes you feel better tho… if the h9 was out before I ever modded the evo, I’d have gotten the h9 and called it a day. It’s a wonderful case and I really liked it! But, since I have a modified evo, it’s hard to say the h9 is my favorite 😅
@@BuildsWithV That does make me feel better....but still, I wish they'd just make an all-glass evo lol. The height and depth of the evo just seems so perfect and symmetrical where as the H9 just feels like it has some dead space in it. But alas...I'm probably not going to return mine at this point
@@MichaelKahn89 yeah, the fact that the beam is gone and it has good airflow I would pick it. If it had bad airflow then it would be a no. (This is if I wasn’t able to mod). If it’s me right now (I’ve done the mod like 10 times already 😅), I would get the 011 and mod it. The proportions of the evo are better imo. It’s a hard choice because on one hand, h9 is cheaper but the evo is nicer overall but then again no mod required for the h9 and the airflow is also great. I hope lian li releases their version with the corner gone!
@@BuildsWithV Honestly the removing the bar I feel confident doing, it's the removing the paint/repainting of the glass panel that I just "know" I will mess up or make imperfect in some way and then I'll be salty about how my PC looks forever 😂
@@BuildsWithV yeah I decided it would be fine after doing a bit more research. Would a 13700k be ok with an air cooler like the ak620? Deciding on that or an aio. Rn I got a 3800x system and can’t wait to upgrade. Was going to get the o11 but it’s a decent amount more than the flow
I like the Evo for 1 thing only and that is the AIO either on top or the bottom for on the floor or on the desk top. Who wants to stand up to plug something in when it is on the desk. I don't like any NZXT cases for their cable bar that just gets in the way and the flimsy metal mainly in the back and like you No Grommets. I like high air flow with a real filter or at atleast come with a filter instead trying to buy one on line when it should come with it to begin with Lian Li.
The 011 fits radiator ls the same way. The issue is the fans sit towards the motherboard vs the 011 they sit closer to the glass (when using 120mm fans). 140 fans wouldn’t make any difference
Yeah I figured that out afterwards. Still a pain to take off but it’s no big deal lol you only build in it once. I still prefer it to come off easily like the 011D but that’s just personal preference, and I’m just used it that I guess 😅

@@JRDE56 that would look awesome. That was my debate back then too. But ended up with the black inside since I really enjoyed the look of the previous nzxt cases.
How did you mod the evo? I love my case but I wish I could get rid of that bar
Dude my mind is blown with how you hid the aio tubes. Youre cooling temps are fine though?
Which gpu holder is that ? I know its the ezdiy, but cant find it
I just got the h9 elite and the front glass does come off by lossening the top screw
Bro, it should be small screws to get the glass off
How’d you mod your O11?? Is it custom or pre fit piece you can switch out?
It’s custom, I cut the beam off, cut the glass brackets, scraped the paint off and then painted the inside of the case black
Is the h9 flow a solid choice if you don’t want to get the lian li cause you don’t want to modify, I heard a lot of people saying get the NV7 but heard it’s difficult to build in
Yeah the h9 is a perfect option. I enjoyed it very much.
@@BuildsWithV definitely set with that been watching your video a few times, for what I want it would be good, would you say the case is sturdy ? I heard people say it was flimsy
@@Grinch92 imo it’s pretty sturdy. Definitely more flimsy than the 011 but when not compared it’s perfectly fine
May I ask where is the AIO loop on the O11? Thank you
how do you have you air flow set up, are you pulling air in from just the bottom and everything else is just an exhuast fan?
So on my H9 that is true but only because of the fans I chose, the back isn’t nice looking so I had no choice. Had the fans for a couple months and decided to use them for this project. On my 011 case, I have intake on the side and bottom and then the top and rear fans are exhaust
Where are your aio cables on the lian li ?
how did you remove the bezel ont he lian li 011 dynamic evo
How did you put the USB ports to the side on the Lian Li case?
You can move the usb hub to any side, just need to unclip it
@@MrRickPatel Thank you! You are the best Mr. Rick!
whats modded in your o11 ? you removed the piece of metal that was in the front left corner ?
Yeah I removed that, removed the paint in the corner and painted the inside of my case black. That’s about it for the case.
I lost track of which cases are which. You referred to them both as this case which didn't help me at all. Couldn't follow along.
if im gonna put 2x 140mm fan on the side does it gonna look weird?
Yeah that bar is quite annoying 😂
How did you do dual rbg with the lian li daisy chained fans?
You can change individual fans color in the software. I have a recent shorts video explaining how. Check it out to see exactly how I did it
Очень красивый корпус получился) Будем и себе делать так же! Спасибо за видео! :)
If this video did anything it made me cancel my order for the NZXT F120 RGB DUO fans and orde the Lian Li fans instead. I couldn't decided so it came down to which one wasn't on backorder.
decided to go with the phanteks nv7 got my pre ored in last night
What are the temperature differences while gaming?
temp decided by ambient temp sensor inside case/motherboard, good ones usually around 33c-40c, sufficient airflow usually 40-50c above that you need more fan
those 20c will raise every single component temp inside case so really not a thing to ignore esp if you oc
by i mean need bcs 50+ usually will raise gpu temp to a point it wont boost (and lower perf)
@@BuildsWithV Ok last question, but out of curiosity....if you had to choose between the H9 or an unmodded Evo...would you still pick the H9? 😅
Well depends what fans u use for the AIO
Stupid question. How do you get a black interior for your White 011D Evo?
I painted it because I loved the look of the older nzxt cases with the black interior. Also hides all the cables a lot better
@@BuildsWithV Oh, cool. I admire the dedication. Great job!
Only way to vertical mount in the NZXT is if you spend almost $100 on a bracket
O11 Dynamic or h9 flow in black or h6 flow?
Does anyone happen to know the name of the ram in his Lian Li build?
Also the bar you dont like in the H9 is removable
I love both cases and the h9 flow is cheaper but it doesn’t have a reset button. Is that a deal breaker or am I over thinking lol
If it makes you feel better, I’ve never used my reset button 😅 it’s up to you but I definitely wouldn’t call that a deal breaker
@@BuildsWithV oh yeah for me it’s like a £50~ difference in favour of the H9 flow- I’ll have to get the top mounted io kit with is part of this cost 😮
I like high air flow with a real filter or at atleast come with a filter instead trying to buy one on line when it should come with it to begin with Lian Li.
the front glass does come off screws on the top
Is that Lian Li Evo modded? I've never seen one with a white exterior and black interior plus the no support beam on the corner
Yeah I painted it and modified it. I have a few videos of the process on my channel
@@BuildsWithV Oh cool
H9 vs EVO XL? almost the same size, no front bar. pleas3e check it :)
seems like a great case but still holding out for the o11d evo xl
Yeah the evo xl gonna be worth the wait I think!
What do you use to clean the glass?
I just use a foam spray glass cleaner so it doesn’t drip and a microfiber cloth
why h9 has a side filter for 2 coolers when there is 3
Can compare with Phanteks NV7
Is the seamless mod possible on the o11 mini ??
I’m sure it’s possible but I haven’t done it myself so can’t say for sure
With a grinder anything is possible 😅😉
@@BuildsWithV lol
which one is the lian li? 😅
The front glass has to be screwed off in the top
2:10 totally disagree with you here, that makes room for a radiator.
The 011 fits radiator ls the same way. The issue is the fans sit towards the motherboard vs the 011 they sit closer to the glass (when using 120mm fans). 140 fans wouldn’t make any difference
the front glass does come off tho
Yeah I figured that out afterwards. Still a pain to take off but it’s no big deal lol you only build in it once. I still prefer it to come off easily like the 011D but that’s just personal preference, and I’m just used it that I guess 😅
