So hooked by this Dudes. I just discovered them on my plant-based food route. Great guys. Finally, someone who cooks really tasty foods with super easy instructions and with ingredients you really can get ;) Keep this Videos coming, you rock
I actually ate a Better than Sausage version of Tortiere (sp) and the spices were perfect I'm not so much into mock meat but you think about food you ate as a child … appreciate vr much your comment
OMG! Merci from Montréal (Québec) for this recipe! Lots of people notice the sweet potatoes instead of white, but it's really good this way too! We have a vegan restaurant chain here in Montréal who do this with sweet potato fries :) (La Panthère Verte/The Green Panther) In fact, there's so many possibilities with this dish. Potatoes, gravy and curd cheese are only the plain base
Much Love from Canada!! You are partly responsible for me staying Vegan, I’ve learned so much over the last year 1/2 of being vegan ❤️ 👍💪currently trying the low carb vegan lifestyle. Would love to see your take on some low carb recipes! Cheers
I am from Montreal Quebec and the best vegan poutine I have had was from my favourite Vegan restaurant Lola Rosa. Everything there is great! Love your RUclips videos! Love love love your tasty yummy recipes! Keep up the great work!
Cindy Pownall Thanks. I looked up their current menus and it looks like they already became about 95% vegan. The only poutine I found was in their du Parc location and it’s already vegan. I guess, I’ll have to go there and try :)
i havent eaten poutine in years!! for sure, i will try this version. looks real tasty and not too indulgent like traditional poutine. merci de montréal!!!!!!💘
@@JVSwailesBoudicca they're sweet! You don't want to put gravy on that ( or maybe you do, I'm not one to judge). But I would use regular potatoes like traditional
@@b2h316 Ahh yes...of course. I hate to offend anyone but I don't like Sweet Potatoes very much anyway !!!! I don't use gravy but I just LOVE potatoes, there are so many things you can do with them and they accompany almost everything. I eat new ones just on their own with a little salt. Thank you for replying.
Was the vegan poutine Dave had here made with sweet potatoes?? I'm a Quebecer and poutine is typically made with white potatoes, so watching you make it with sweet potatoes is.... Unnerving!! 😂😂 So that being said, I make so many of your recipes and they're always amazing so I'll try this and report back!
I said the same thing. Never had poutine with sweet potatoes. Not entirely convinced that I want to. But I will definitely try this with normal potatoes
My friend, poutine is one of the most unhealthy things in the world, white, Yukon Gold Sweet Potato I don't give a flying fuck. Those 2 guys are such Good People -- try it out! There are other recipes from Quebec, Habitant split pea soup without the pork rind, you got me thinking, actually quite a few brilliant things….. maybe they'll do a short series, who knows.
Finally some anglophones acknowledging that poutine is from Quebec. Nothing irritates me more than hearing people calling poutine a traditional canadian meal...👍
They said "healthier" obviously if you're dousing something in gravy it's not going to be something you'd want to eat daily. But depending on the oil being used, yes, it would have better nutrition than a traditional gravy made using animal fats.
I love those guys but they sometimes don't get the fat/salt content stuff; I just take their great ideas and adapt; still inspired by their example, always, but yes agree totally. Their metabolism is definitely on another planet from the one I live on, so modify everything; still learning.
Feeling useless in Montreal with a Pekingese named Kiwi sleeping on my leg who thinks she is Northern Dancer for anyone who ever followed horse racing. Why would you guys EVER want to replicate the most unhealthy food in the entire world, I love you guys, obviously my sister more; don't understand why Rich Roll is still living with an obviously abusive wife, this was a well-meaning, probably successful attempt at making something radically unhealthy , healthy. There are good points to be living in Canada: if you want you can be bilingual; Justin Trudeau, compared with south of the border and frankly Brexit -- totally get why John Cleese renounced the UK, which may not last much longer by all accounts. There are really good Canadian dishes; not sure what you call Rutabaga; turnip family I think; my mom thought it was stuff to feed to cows and horses. If you're good at caramelizing onions and ok at vegan cheese sauce. which is not rocket science, you have the best holiday dish ever cooking this root veg over low flame for a while. Were you really born in Canada???? Unbelievable. Well, so was I, complicated European background which really did make me a foodie -- Wonderbread was strange stuff you rolled into small pellets when you were about 6 and threw at your sister and everyone fell about laughing. Do you want me to rewrite this whole spiel in French...…...
I made this last weekend, and oh my sweet swaddling baby Yoda, that gravy. You two are now in my will.
Nice to see so many fellow Quebecers fans of the happy pear. Great videos mes amis !!!
C'est hallucinant à quel point on commente ici!

Quebec loves you too, guys! Since going vegan, the thing I miss the most is poutine. Well, not anymore! Poutine is back on my menu. Thanks, boys!
I live in Longueuil Quebec so I really appreciate this vegan healthy version.

Does the rice flour trick work on regular potatoes as well?

Cindy Pownall wait Lola Rosa used to be vegetarian. Did they go full vegan?
@@Limemill you now have the choice they can amend the vegetarian dishes to be vegan. Sooo yumm!

I was born in Quebec! This version of poutine looks awesome!!! 😁❤🇨🇦
You just sound like a great person. I live in Quebec City, Ave. du Bienville, so we could do this in French but bless those guys

Perfect dish! Thank you very much for sharing!
Very nice comfort food! Please, can you lovely chaps come up with a vegan Banh Mi baguette recipe?
Le Québec vous aime aussi
Merci de Québec!
Any left for me? Looks yummy!
The best vegan poutine I've eaten was at the restaurant Nooch in Windsor, Ontario.
As a Canadian I'm not sure I can approve the sweet potatoes, but the finished product does look pretty tasty 👍
Brittany 2H But why don't you approve Sweet Potatoes ?
We can't argue with that. Thanks for watching. 😄
Brittany 2H I agree, what’s wrong with proper spuds?

I'm from Quebec and really like vegan poutine.
Do you have to make it yourself or are there places near you you can buy it from?
What did you do to make the mozzarella so white.? Mine goes rather yellow
Yessss! This is why you guys are my favorite, i wish i could find ypur books in the US, could you just come to the twin cities for a cooking show?! XD
Victoria Cross Hi! Really? There are three on Amazon. You have to do the conversions or use metric scales, etc, but it’s worth it.
Canadian approved!🍁 The sweet potatoes are a great idea! 🍠
Can you please link your cheese video? I can't find it. Thank you!!!
Click on the "i" at the upper right hand corner of the video
Fab! Cant wait to try it!
Canada has joined the chat room:D

Damn -great guys, thanks

The ultimate comfort food is Aligot made in the south of France.
Why the hell are you eating it with your hands? Poutine is not finger food.
That gravy has over 600 calories in oil alone so maybe not so healthy! 120 calories in 1 tablespoon of oil!
i will put less oil in the gravy. as long as theres a little, it will still be very aromatic and tasty.
They said "healthier" obviously if you're dousing something in gravy it's not going to be something you'd want to eat daily. But depending on the oil being used, yes, it would have better nutrition than a traditional gravy made using animal fats.

Fat and calories aren’t necessarily bad for you, but as previously pointed out this is only “healthier “ and it is a comfort food.
