Ingredients for the recipes written down, since I couldn't find this written anywhere: Method 1: Maple miso tofu steaks - 1 tbsp oil to cook the tofu - half thumb-sized piece of ginger, finely chopped - 2 cloves garlic - 1/2 a chilli, optional. - black + normal sesame seeds Cook the above in the frying pan for about 3 minutes. Empty pan and set aside. Chop tofu in thin slices (about 1 cm thick) To make the glaze: - 1 tbsp maple syrup - 2 tbsp miso e.g. barley miso. - 1/2 tsp mirin or vinegar - Bit of water Mix ingredients. Add sauce on top of tofu, spread, flip, repeat. - Diced spring onions (add to tofu pan when tofu is nearly cooked). Serve with the previously cooked ingredients. Method 2: - Tofu, cubed. Sear in some oil. - 2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce, add to the pan, stir. - Nutritional yeast, add to the pan when nearly all the moisture is gone, to 'breadcrumb' the tofu. Method 3: Sweet chilli - 3/4 tsp smoked paprika - 3 tbsp tomato puree - 2 tbsp tamari (or soy sauce) - 2 tbsp maple syrup - 1tsp dried chilli powder Mix ingredients to make a sauce. Sear tofu, turn over. Add sauce on top, spread, flip, repeat.
I'm thinking that dish will be a great "Protien bites" type snack. with all that Nutrional yeast, the vitamin B's boost would be great post workout/ night time snacks.
Just tried the second dish with soy sauce and nutritional yeast it was beyond good . I also added 2 tablespoons of bbq sauce at the very moment I added the soy sauce and cooked it until it was pretty much absorbed. Turned off the heat then added a lot of nutritional yeast . Mixed until coated and it was soooooo good . Thank you
I'm an amateur cook and just become pescetarian. I'm eating more veggie and vegan, and tofu I'm cooking couple times a week. Can I recommend to take moisture out of your tofu you pop it in the microwave between two plates for a minute or two. I flavour tofu with rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder and paprika, or oregano and parsley. You can marinate it in the mixture for an hour in the fridge in a bowl to intensify flavour. I enjoyed this very much, the lads are funny and make cooking easy and accessible.
My favourite way to cook tofu is to cube it and lightly fry in a little oil and chicken spice till crispy. Perfect for buddha bowls or on a salad. And any leftovers get chopped and mixed with mayo and spring onion on toast. Yum!
So guys, I'm a really bad cook, like 3 years ago I didn't even cook pasta by myself. now I'm trying to get Vegeterian and Vegan and your guides are so good for me! You give everything, even (and really important to me) the right heat. Thank you, really love to watch!
I´m sure they´re all delicious but (unless you burn the tamari or garlic) I´d say the second version is the healthiest as I definitely take oil over sugar. Which really just goes to show that "healthy" is not a very clearly defined term.
I would make both versions but oil free and sugar free because oil increases the risk of heart disease and stroke and sugar increases the risk of cancer. I don't want to suffer from either. It's only refined/processed sugar that increases the risk of cancer, it doesn't apply to natural sugars in fruits, vegetables and other plant foods.
I'm not a vegan but I like variety and a big range of flavors. Thanks for the great recipes! The most I've done with tofu was slice the block into 1/2" thick slices, coat with corn starch (corn flour to you guys) pan fry to crisp and dip in a sauce. I'm excited to try these.
Love the recipes as well as the chemistry between you two, haha! Myself - I don't use oil (at all) so I will try these recipes baked in the oven. Cheers!
I don't think ppl care but I'm going to give updates on my veggie transitioning to veganism. So today I bought sweetened soya milk that's all have a great day or year or life!!!!! THANKS DUDES!!!!!🖤💚💛🧡💙😀
TallBoy thanks I messed up and bet myself up about it. But I need to start again which I have thanks so much for replying and wish u all the best!!! Brídx💙❤🧡👋💛✌🏻
Brid Mcgrath It's a journey, Brid, don't beat yourself up! You've started ahead of the game, as a vegetarian: I'm transitioning from a lifetime of meat eating 🙁. Still, five years in and my 'backsliding' is increasingly rare! Good luck to us both! 🙏🏾✨😄💖
That's about the same for me time frame for me as well. Ive slipped here and there, but you know after i get meat products and actually eat them, it not as good as i used to think they were. The gross factor really kicks in hard, and of course i begin to feel more and more guilty about eating animals each and every time i have slipped up. As time goes on i slip up less and less to the point where now I wouldn't even consider having an animal product, even if it was free and right in front of me when i am starving. I still go to my cafeteria at work and smell the meat based foods almost daily though, but i wont dare touch them now. hahaha
Thanks guys. Fun to watch but also well needed knowledge at the moment. I have just discovered an Asian supermarket in my City which sells 600g for just few pounds so i need some ideas. I have some of that pongy salt as well so am glad you put that recipe up last week.
Thanks guy for this. Most vegan recipes call for tofu, but they don't add much flavor, but I add them all the same, but your recopies look like a game changer.
You two always make me smile 😊 and y’all make me hungry. I can’t wait to have a kitchen that I can actually cook this type of stuff in! Love you dudes!
Love tofu! Just made vegan bulgogi with crispy tofu and shitake mushrooms instead of beef, definitely on our dinner rotation! Looking forward to making the nutritional yeast one
I thought I'd try all three but I can't get past tamari and nutritional yeast. It's delicious! I tried mushrooms this way and they are also amazing. I'm sure I'll get round to the others. One day.
The only problem with having a twin is that many of them are more attached to another person than any of us are ever familiar with!! That can be hard sometimes, especially if one dies.
Wow 👍 It looks so yummy 😋 I will definitely make it! I’ve just ordered your book “The Happy Pear, Recipes for Happiness”. Just wondering if these Tofu recipes are in your cookbook?
hahahaha, that was beautiful! You are wonderful guys, loads of fun. Otherwise, I shall decide for myself after I try the three options. Have a good week
This is awesome! I have to be honest tofu is not my favorite plant based protein source (it is actually my least favorite!). In most situations, I would prefer tempeh tofu simply due to the texture difference. But there are great ideas! I will have to try them on my own this coming up. Perhaps I'll shoot a video on it!
In my opinion tofu prepared at home just cannot compare to tofu prepared in an authentic Thai or Chinese restaurant. However all of the tofu you cooked in this video looked great. My favourite tofu is either deep fried or in a hot-pot with 3 cup sauce OR black bean sauce.
I have an idea for a future post based around your love of fiber. Basically, it is to help us avoid being bloated, flatulent and running for the toilet after eating foods that are very good for us but sometimes explosive in the stomach. Years ago a vlog of yours changed my experience of tinned beans when you instructed to thoroughly rinse the fluid from the beans. I did not know this before. A famous chef with the initials JO promotes using the juice in the can to get all the nutrients so I used bean water in my cooking and regretted the aftermath. Since your vlog I rinse a lot and am in love with beans again. But I still have the same problem with other veg high in fiber and would really appreciate guidance on why these give gas and poop and how to avoid this. Brocolli, green cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, white cabbage and greens in general. I love the taste of all these and I know they are pack with goodness but play merry hell with my stomach. So teach us how to cook these high fiber foods to eat safely please.
Thanks guys - been enjoying your videos always interesting and fun. oddly the advert that appeared afterwards was for BEEF? how clever of RUclips to marry the content and the piss poor ad so well...?
I would be way more likely to try the second one, because I’m lazy and there were I Lynae three ingredients and less fussing. It probably needs a sauce to not be dry, though.

Dave's nutritional yeast hack is GENIUS!!!

What is a good brand in the US of Nutritional Yeast? Thanks.
All three of the tofu dishes look delicious, will definitely try making them on separate days of course.

Oh wow that sounds incredible Deidre!! We'll have to give that a go some afternoon. 😄😄
i love that you two get along so well. Your chemistry comes across in your vids and the food looks yumcious
I just made Dave's nutritional yeast tofu and it was easy and delish! Thanks.

All 3 recipes look delicious! I’m excited to try them all!
That red stuff in the squeeze tube is tomato paste in the US. Tomato puree is more liquidy in the US and comes in a can or box.
Right on

Suzette ANSAH thanks so much I really appreciate it. Im slowly getting there!!!! Like u said prayers to us both!!!!!!💜💜✌🏻😀🤞🏻

I am salivating watching this, will def try one or both ways!
Thanks guys. Fun to watch but also well needed knowledge at the moment. I have just discovered an Asian supermarket in my City which sells 600g for just few pounds so i need some ideas. I have some of that pongy salt as well so am glad you put that recipe up last week.
You guys have inspired me, I love your content.
Thanks guy for this. Most vegan recipes call for tofu, but they don't add much flavor, but I add them all the same, but your recopies look like a game changer.
Nutritional yeast lover!! I think this would be great on a massaged kale salad 🥗 🤟
Lucky kale!
Love it! With those forks in the air my Mom would have said " you're going to put an eye out!' All three look quick and taste! Thank you.
Thanks guys! Looking forward to trying these. Would I follow the same method if using Tempeh?
"It's a little bit bitter. Not bad for you tho." lol
"Not bad for YOU, though, (Steve)." lol. Bro love. 🤙
😝
and the bitterness is probably coming from the burnt garlic, which was technically steve's job. xD
"Get your twin brother to spread it out". You guys crack me up. 😀
So far just tried the nutritional yeast crumbed one. A bloody revelation. Had it over sauted spinach and scallions. Delish!
I don't know what I like more, the recipes or the vibe in general...i laugh so much watching these videos ! Culinary comedy, thank you guys :)
That was so fun. Loved the recipes!
Tried the 2nd recipe and I added a little mape syrup in with the soy sauce and omg came out so good.
You two always make me smile 😊 and y’all make me hungry. I can’t wait to have a kitchen that I can actually cook this type of stuff in! Love you dudes!
Thanks so much Ryan!! A kitchen is what you make of it. We used to shoot our videos out in the back garden of our shop on a camping stove, haha .😄😄
The tiny purple spatula gives me life
Love tofu! Just made vegan bulgogi with crispy tofu and shitake mushrooms instead of beef, definitely on our dinner rotation! Looking forward to making the nutritional yeast one
"Get your twin brother to brush it out, to spread it out on top of it"
But I don't have a twin brother. 😢
These all look fabulous. I wish you would include links to recipes or come over and make it for me.
Hey Guys, I like all three and for something quick the nutritional yeast one is great
just add your own vegan sause
Legit cooked tofu tonight and was thinking how I could do it better. You boys bought the good. Thank you
Where did you get the black spatula/brush? It's so cool looking.
I've gotten big into my tofu lately, so I'll be trying all of these!
Can’t wait to try all 3 ... u guys are fantastic 💕
I’m going to try this for breakfast, looks yummy !
5:45 Steve quickly hiding his secret drug stash there?
Lol
Hahaha
Love all 3 definitely going to try
Hi there,so i have just made the first one, delicious 😋 but my “firm” tofu wasn’t very firm, fell apart🤨is it best to freeze it first?
they all look delicious - the pans you are using look like the secret - do you have any links to the brands of pans?
I'm going to go with the second one simply because it was so quick and easy to do.
Great ideas, thank you!
Where did you get that pan? Looks cool!
Lovin the recipes guys! Already tried the simple one, loved it :) any chance of ye ever doing yere take on misir wat? :) Would love to see it :)
I love this video! Thanks guys for the simple but unique recipes! I also, love the "love affair" between you too guys! Too funny! Thanks!
Thanks a million. Being twins gives you a powerful connection. :D

"Dave's dog food" 😂 All the recipes look so good and very unique! Will definitely give them a try
Thank you guys. Very useful.
Great recipes guys, the first being my favourite 😋🌱
Dave won't be pleased, haha. 😄😄 Thanks so much for watching.
Great recipes. i cook for myself. how long can I keep the unused tofu in the fridge?
i love you guys :) i allways get into a good mood watching you . Greetings from germany
could you guys do a vegan toaster strudel recipe? i think you'd really knock it out of the park in terms of creativity
Love these guys and how informal they are :-) just an FYI, Mirin is not vinegar.
Wow, I'll try this for sure 😋
If it's any consolation I am going to try the second one.
I thought I'd try all three but I can't get past tamari and nutritional yeast. It's delicious! I tried mushrooms this way and they are also amazing. I'm sure I'll get round to the others. One day.
I flipping love tofu! Thanks Dudes for the new approach!
Thanks so much for watching 😀
Aww I wish I had a twin!
The only problem with having a twin is that many of them are more attached to another person than any of us are ever familiar with!! That can be hard sometimes, especially if one dies.
You guys are so entertaining. I was wrong about tofu: It doesn't need to be boring thanks to you three, haha! Thank you!
Just adding to my tofu skills! Woot!
Love you guys
I'm just learning how to cook tofu. These look good.
Thank you for recipe
These two brothers are amazing together.
What kind of pan is that? I also LOVE nutritional yeast, or nooch as it's known in some areas of the world. I always use extra when it's called for.
when they said ''ok'' at the same time, my heart droped!! 6:52
Miso looks tasty 😋
The first one would be my pick too, it looks delicious 😍
You guys are so charming and lovely! 😍
My favourite is miso paste and honey glaze. Yum
This is awesome! I have to be honest tofu is not my favorite plant based protein source (it is actually my least favorite!). In most situations, I would prefer tempeh tofu simply due to the texture difference.
But there are great ideas! I will have to try them on my own this coming up. Perhaps I'll shoot a video on it!
i'm vegan already. always looking for great recipes. i'm going to try make all 3. thanks for happy vegan recipes.
That miso and maple tofu was 👌

👍😘Love your cooking show.
I like this competition thing, it’s fun
I like the 1st one with all the veggies oh and the delicious pan to cook it in 🤣
I am using temari often when frying tofu. I really need to try with nutritional yeast as well. I am also curious to try the miso version 😍
Thanks so much! The nutritional yeast version is really nice.
Good job
What brand of knives would you recommend
Thanks guys - been enjoying your videos always interesting and fun.
oddly the advert that appeared afterwards was for BEEF?
how clever of RUclips to marry the content and the piss poor ad so well...?
what's the firmest brand of tofu in the UK? Every kind I try is wet and mushy.
I’ll have to try all three and let you know :-)
I love you guys!
I would be way more likely to try the second one, because I’m lazy and there were I Lynae three ingredients and less fussing. It probably needs a sauce to not be dry, though.
all Look great! Like to see more!
It's good to see this and I cook somewhat of this way =) Good vid =) fyi I had same pan.
is Tamari really that much better / that different to soy sauce? only found it at one store and it cost 2-3x as much
i think it is better/nicer
It's wheat free for those with allergies. It's usually more traditionally made than many soy sauces that speed up the process through chemistry.
I knew it awesomeness thankQ
Always go with the nooch!
you guys are the best
What brand of pants the copper pan?
I'm going to try them all and vote 😂
