      Renaldo Nelson I didn't like it because it was clearly more of a paid commercial than a real raw one take. I didn't rate it but that's one reason people probably didn't like it.

      Agent Orange Selfie sticks aren't useless. It's how people use them. The extendable handle is a bluetooth remote. You can set up your phone in a room and descretely (from your pocket) activate recording. And the part that holds the phone, allows you to mount the phone onto a tripod. Which is incredibly useful for taking sharp pictures. Plus you can use your phone as a mounted camera.

      Aidan red C6Z's usually make ~450 RWHP and ~430 RWTQ stock. This car made 505 RWHP, and probably makes a ton more torque under the curve. Keep in mind this C7 blower is a low-boost (likely warrantied and smog legal) setup with room to grow. A pulley swap and some custom tuning can be worth quite a bit of power. Besides the flat torque curve, that's one of the best features of a supercharger kit like this.

Although you won't get as much torque or the wide torque band of the Magnuson's supercharger, I still prefer the naturally aspirated version. Plus you won't gain as much weight as putting a supercharger since most of the engine parts are replaced with lighter, stronger alternatives.

    Couple of notes:
    1) this car sounds fan-fucking-tastic. Probably the best Corvette I've heard, and that includes that race-cammed LS7 that you reviewed earlier. And that's saying something.
    2) that aside, this kit seems completely unnecessary. You don't need 600hp for the street basically ever (at least not unless it's in a great pig of a car like the Hellcats), so if it's not practical at the track because heating issues, then just... leave it stock. 460hp should be plenty.
    I mean unless you're going drag racing of course. I'm not a fan because it's basically a horsepower pissing contest about little else other than ridiculous numbers, but if you're into that you do need huge hp. But that's the only real application I can think of for this kit.

    Wait - if it's a 2014 it has a 6-speed auto, not the new 8-speed. The 8-speed didn't become available until the 2015 model year.

    85 degrees is a very hot day!? Lol, it's pushin a 100 degrees in south Texas and it's not even August yet haha.

      Alvaro Giron Yes, It's good and bad. It's nice to show people such a beautiful road; however, I don't want people clogging 33 whenever I drive it. I don't want it becoming the West Coast version of the Tail of the Dragon (great road that was ruined by hype and traffic).

    thx for that nice vid.
    i drove the stock C7 and i can clearly hear in your vid a very nice little supercharger whine .....love it !
    And i noticed the 8speed shifts very quick when using track mode and manual shifting mode together.

  • @trmsoundspeed
    @trmsoundspeed 8 лет назад +1

    the shift is very very fast, the problem (usually) is the paddle imput. Trasmission in this car is ok, shift software no.

    • @kubanskiloewe
      @kubanskiloewe 8 лет назад +1

      +TheRaceWriter it depends in which mode you are driving ! In track mode it "calculates" faster or perhaps it shortens the tolerances for shifting for the price of some roughness or more coupling wearing or something.
      But still than the downshifts have more lag than upshifts.

    I find beyond lame the fact that this thing overheats when going spiritedly DOWNHILL. Let me emphasize DOWNHILL and SPIRITEDLY. I mean,it's not like you were driving at the limit,maybe you were at 7/10. The stock car without a supercharger does the same on the track and you are very lucky if you can do 3 laps with the Z06 before the ECU sends it in limp mode. That,if it doesn't throw a rod thru the side of the case 60 miles after leaving the dealership. Do your research if you don't know what I'm talking about.

    I have this car the paddles do not sound like that. The mic must be like right next to the paddles because in the car you do not hear that.
    Now in other news, I totally plan to put this particular supercharger on my 2015 Z51. Potenza RE71R tires will be part of that setup.

  • @CasterTown

    The reaction time on the paddle flick to the actual shift seems atrocious. Do you find that you have to anticipate your downshift points and hit the paddle early for the shift to come in on time? I would go nuts if I hit the paddle in a short braking zone and the downshift didn't come in until after turn-in. That would be unacceptable and downright dangerous.

    prototype...but 100 percent production lol. Personally I don't think 8000 dollars for an extra 100 hp at the wheels is worth it but I guess if you have the money to buy one of these cars/blower kits you don't care about that.
    Sure does sound good though!

    I know the C7 is a solid car but those paddle shifters sounds sooo bad. They sound cheaply made the and the worst paddle shifters I've heard on any car period. Good thing the engine sounds good but those paddles would annoy me so bad. Hopefully they will make aftermarket shifters for this car.
