I guess that depends on who is driving, but again Matt is a very competent driver and I only started getting a bit nervous towards the end as he got more comfortable and started pushing the car harder…
I love when you get people like Joel who know so much about their build and are so excited to explain all the details they've done to their cars. As always another fantastic one take!
MunroM84 for an street legal road course race car it is soft, but for a street legal half/full mile race car, it's just right and well sorted. You don't need super stiff suspension if drag racing is what you are after.
JohnnyNr5 that color I believe is unique to the 50th anniversary addition. I forget the name of it but it's very distinctive color and looks much better in person.
DeOndré Anderson to Corvette enthusiast though this particular color has significance though. You need to see the color in person it really looks better in person.
I've known that car for 20 years. Good to see he still has it, gotta be one of the most expensive c5 builds I'm aware of. Not sure if that is a good club we are in our not.
The fun part is when Matt hits the go pedal completely. I can't even imagine what a car with that power level feels like. I've experienced 676 whp in a coyote mustang and thought that was nuts. This? Next level stuff!
Joel and his Vette are legendary. I was watching his insane canyon driving vids on the Vette Forums a decade ago. Joel is a master driving in those canyons. His vids are much better than having to watch Farrah.
You know he's driving a fast car when you get nervous just watching the video. Very rarely can you get a good sense for the speed watching a video but the way everything was flying by and the car was soaking up those bumps made it so real.
I've been watching Joel's RUclips videos for a long time now and have even purchased Torco Accelerator from him. Really down-to-earth and awesome guy to deal with. Love his car.
Joel is a great guy! I do a lot of Airstrip Attacks with him & also use his product, Torco on all my Vettes. Glad to see you do his Vette in your episode, great work Matt & Joel!
Good to see he has it still. I used to talk to joel quite frequently on a small corvette forum we were on. He certainly got his use out of that car. And still hasnt really changed it in the last ten years much from what I can see.
If I were to do a C5, it'd be like this. Probs in silver with some aero lights, but that engine, the body work, the running gear.....thing's a beast. Love it. And its properly sorted, too. Very impressive car here.
I only dislike 1 minor thing... The filled in corvette logo on the rear.. I realize it kinda matches the custom paint which normally I might not like but it follows the lines pretty well and Im ok with it, but those letters bother me on any c 5. If your younger and want to go fast you can find c 5s for 10k all day, they rattle, the window seals stink but the stock stereos are loud, they are light and get 30+ Mpgs Hwy. The hatch fits lots of stuff , LS 1S Run good forever (stock anyway) and the car is relatively inexpensive to maintain. Many great well taken care of examples with low miles to chose from. You also get a removable top. Really a bargain if you don't have big money and want to bang gears and go around turns pretty well.
This car was in a video game. I cant remember which one, but I remember a video the owner posted of the car getting recorded for a game a few years ago.
5:25 you make the point that it "masks speed". I just picked up a C5 Z06 and compared to a regular LS1 C5 car, the suspension in the Z06 REALLY masks speed. That's a great way to say it. It's just so composed and controlled that a low 12 second car feels as easy to go fast in as a mid 13 second car.
Most drag/straight-line guys have no idea what downshifting is. Its not like they ever have to do it. Why do you think Chevy had to put auto-rev matching on the new Corvettes and Camaros? They are keenly aware that nobody in their target market knows how to manually perform a downshift correctly.
those downshifts are hands down the loudest and most aggresive ive ever heard.Thing picks up speed in a scary way.Just pulls and pulls relentlessly it seems
I rarely comment on these videos but this is in my top 5 favorite one takes. This is one of the only videos recently where the speed actually translated on camera! This thing looks absolutely bat shit, like 675LT fast. Owner was cool af too!
I'm not surprised if the owner is terrified. That much power with a guy who likes to drive fast in a canyon where if you lose it your life is over going down those cliffs. I like Matt but you have to have balls to do this, he may be a great driver but all it takes is the rear wheels to break a little traction. I love straight line speed but driving this route it'd be like a grandma.
GO up to fifth gear Matt " RAMS it into third gear ,. Owner has heart attack.
He was done talking to him. He was like “this is a clown”
“Hey honey, why can’t we pay our mortgage this month?”
“But did you see my standing mile time?”
😭😂🤣🤣
Haha
Best to buy something that's already pretty close to where you want it
Well By that guys face impressions I'm pretty sure That's going to be the last time the owner sits on the passenger seat of his own car!!
rabin2026 your car always feels faster and you are nervous when you are a passenger and not in control of your car
I think most people would shit themselves being passenger in an 800 whp car.
Mojo 😂😂
I guess that depends on who is driving, but again Matt is a very competent driver and I only started getting a bit nervous towards the end as he got more comfortable and started pushing the car harder…
It's hard trusting anyone else that is driving fast, it takes a lot of getting used to, to be a passenger. I'm terrible at it lol.
I love when you get people like Joel who know so much about their build and are so excited to explain all the details they've done to their cars. As always another fantastic one take!
Thank you Jason, I’ve got a lot of blood sweat and tears into this car…
prettyfast1000 You built an incredible machine your passion and knowledge of your creation is inspirational
Thank You!!
@ 5:42 does he say : What are you doin?! Hahaha
Mr_Lundax LMAO
lol, well heard
most def
😂😂 All he did was blip and down shift to
Mr_Lundax it was at this point he knew he fucked up
Chills inducing sound
When he said “they will bury me in this” I felt that in my soul 👊👊👊
The downshift to third was such awesome angry fury
You know a car is fast when your not even in it but still giggle from it
That seems like a well sorted race car, good job!
MunroM84 for an street legal road course race car it is soft, but for a street legal half/full mile race car, it's just right and well sorted. You don't need super stiff suspension if drag racing is what you are after.
MunroM84 soft?
MunroM84 a 3000lb go kart with over 800 wheel hp? Soft? What the fuck do you drive?
Lmao 3 years later this guy was chosen to be in the show “Sorted” with Matt Farah
He was so nervous lol, another great one.
Mod2Fame Vlog its intense being passenger. You're not in control.
it's even worse at the track. I'll never get used to it.
Good hearing car owners that aren’t meatheads
Over 800hp will makes ya nuts go in ya chest😂 he’s clearly a dyno racer because a real racer wouldn’t get nervous.😂🤷♂️
@@lpjzfan05 omg spoken like a true arm chair racer...
Those rev matches are insanely good sounding.
Not too in love with the colour scheme, but love the lines. ..and the build..damn. Mr Feingold has build one hell of a car. Nice work good sir :)
JohnnyNr5 that color I believe is unique to the 50th anniversary addition. I forget the name of it but it's very distinctive color and looks much better in person.
Jeff Eppenger yes, it’s called ruby pearl mica...
Depending how the sun hits it, you can change a little
DeOndré Anderson to Corvette enthusiast though this particular color has significance though. You need to see the color in person it really looks better in person.
This guy is so nervous to see someone drive his baby. I know the feeling! Sick car man and thanks for featuring it Matt & Co.
I've known that car for 20 years. Good to see he still has it, gotta be one of the most expensive c5 builds I'm aware of. Not sure if that is a good club we are in our not.
Rob Ferretti calm down wanna be lol
Spaghetti your burnt meatball isn't even in the same league as this spicy salami
Today, we find a wild Rob Spaghetti comment
Rob Ferretti Thanks, I hope to have it another 20…
prettyfast1000 fantastic car mate and hello from New Zealand. Very impressive!
The fun part is when Matt hits the go pedal completely. I can't even imagine what a car with that power level feels like. I've experienced 676 whp in a coyote mustang and thought that was nuts. This? Next level stuff!
The Dutch Texan highly hp in a corvette is a completely different beast no comparison at all
"It's planted, it's a quaiffe, it's been on fire five times"
pretzil16 all true LOL
Lmfao that's hilarious
3 years later and this is still hilarious sir.
Pre RUclips that thing was the star of a site called Corvette Kill Stories. I'd always wondered what happened to it.
Yes, I remember that site, I was a bit crazier in my younger days....
Joel and his Vette are legendary. I was watching his insane canyon driving vids on the Vette Forums a decade ago. Joel is a master driving in those canyons. His vids are much better than having to watch Farrah.
Thanks Buddy, you're too kind...
Serious car. This guy's personality perfectly matches his car, awesome video
“Holy shit!” I still kinda want a c5.
Honestly it’s a tie between those two models, but it definitely has to be a z06.
You’re right, I’m leaning towards the c6 but it’s just something about these late ‘90’s to early ‘00s cars.
those rev matches are fucking LOUD.
probably don't have to be if he did them softly
uber sucks that car and quiet don’t belong in the same sentence. God himself couldn’t keep that Car quiet on heel-toe downshifts.
Houston how wide open the throttle is makes a big difference, I've had loud cars.
The engine rev's super fast because of the lightweight flywheel, so his first few rev matches I think he overdid it a bit.
Yep, that first downshift scared the shit out of me! I had my speakers up WAY too loud for that!
Guy's like this are rare now days, buy their dream car and enjoy it for 20 years.
I just can't help but to smile when Matt rolls into it..
Woah, what a brutal car! And a cool long term development with the owner and all.
Great vid!
That rev match actually sacred me
The owner when he Mat goes into it. His awkward laugh and scared face 😂 10/10 reaction
You know he's driving a fast car when you get nervous just watching the video. Very rarely can you get a good sense for the speed watching a video but the way everything was flying by and the car was soaking up those bumps made it so real.
Mr. Cornbread
Thanks, here’s a pretty fast video of me driving one of my other cars
vimeo.com/233037262
I did 180 mph in the standing mile in my C5 Z06 with a built 402 LS2 naturally aspirated.
Jesus Christ that sound...like an angry bear!
A BURNING BEAR!
That is a VERY accurate way to describe that sound
The graphic an everything makes it fit so well in its time I love
Daaaaaaaaa Bears
Sounds like my MIL...
Incredible sounds. A proper way to wake up.
Holy shit what a BEAST!
15:37 one of the most exciting few seconds of any one take. Damn i got scared just watching...
Thanks Buddy!!
Owner looks nervous
bod95 being a passenger is scary lol.
Nervous? Dude looked terrified!
$200k nervous
I would be too! Corvettes are notorious for overseer stock...
800WHP on a rear wheel drive car from the 90s, hope his life I Durance is up to date.
Bad ass ride! I’ve seen the car on instagram a few times, but didn’t know the story behind it. He sure was nervous in that passenger seat, lol.
Good to see he has it still. I used to talk to joel quite frequently on a small corvette forum we were on. He certainly got his use out of that car. And still hasnt really changed it in the last ten years much from what I can see.
No doubt Buddy, she does require a bit of TLC, but the power is elusive, and I still chase it...
Impressive stuff for sure, seems like one of the most well sorted cars you've featured.
In 2020 watching Sorted now:
That's one of the best looking and sounding cars you've featured on here. This video was a great watch, thanks.
Naefukabootio Nice to hear
Now that's how you build a car ! Incredible 4:55 (that downshift sound)
Had the pleasure to see this car at a few runway events, and let's just say it's fucking loud and fucking fast, it's insane.
Seen his car a bunch of times over the years. It is an absolute monster!
Vinny Diesel 👍🏻👍🏻
Most insane car I've ever seen on this show. Sweet.
I can say that this was a real treat to watch, im not a big corvette fan but this is something special!
Joel, this car makes all the right sounds. Congrats on the car.
David Peterson thanks David
I remember this car from back in the day. Used to watch his videos all the time.
If I were to do a C5, it'd be like this. Probs in silver with some aero lights, but that engine, the body work, the running gear.....thing's a beast. Love it. And its properly sorted, too. Very impressive car here.
Been watching videos on his channel for years. Awesome car
4:11 That guy is nervous as hell! Sick upload!
Matt good to see you LOVING this Car!!! Great video!
Finally, not some tuner hack job 6 month rushed build. So nice to have a long time owner that actually does real man stuff with it.
Probably the best corvette I’ve seen the c5 is the greatest corvette
This guy actually knows how to do flybys! Very nice.
You also get a removable top. Really a bargain if you don't have big money and want to bang gears and go around turns pretty well.
This car seems like it could be a NFS boss car
Isaac Garcia Need for speed is a supreme joke. FM or GT or iracing on PC is where its at. NFS was good in the 90s before Gran Turismo was released.
No one is even talking about that shit ya geek
that would be awesome fuck these gatekeeping fucking retards hahahaha
This car was in a video game. I cant remember which one, but I remember a video the owner posted of the car getting recorded for a game a few years ago.
That is correct, Need for speed, Carbon Canyon... They put multiple mics on the car, street and dyno, used the sound in the game!
Wow, love seeing this car on here. I've known this car for years.
This is one of my favorite reviews from you.
JaggerWolf Good to hear…
That is a beautiful f#ckin performance build (and coincidentally expensive). Easily amongst the best looking C5's i've seen. Delightful indeed Matt.
real talk appreciate that, thanks👍🏻
I think this is one of the best One Take cars so far.
Mohamed Ibrahim thanks, that’s cool to hear!
New camera? Looks like a much wider FOV than normal
No it looks the same as before for me. Still, they really should put the camera pointing to the road on the passenger window for better angle.
this was recorded a while ago
You can alter how wide a GoPro shoots, from 'regular' flat to basically fish-eye. I'd assume he altered it to fit everything in the frame.
catnapwat yes you can, kind of.
Never been a fan of vettes AT ALL tbh. But this one in this colour with this build + sound does it for me, I'm seriously in love.
Oh my god! I’m inspired! Just bought.a C5 and still haven’t driven it. Thanks for the AWESOME ride along.
This video should have a 1/2 million views! One of my favorites so far. Hell, I was sweating in my office chair!
peacems thank you very much, I’ve watched it a few times, and while I’m quite biased, I find it enjoyable to watch!!
Seems like the owner was unhappy about your downshifts lol
We're All Thieves They don't even seem bad to
Sounds like he says "What are you doing?" at 5:39 lol
No he isn't... 12:08
Most drag/straight-line guys have no idea what downshifting is. Its not like they ever have to do it. Why do you think Chevy had to put auto-rev matching on the new Corvettes and Camaros? They are keenly aware that nobody in their target market knows how to manually perform a downshift correctly.
Blake McDonald yes he did say “ what are you doing”
Those downshifts sound evil!
Joels nervous laugh on the first full throttle was too funny
Griffin Kambol 😂😂
Thank you Matt for sharing all the video coverage, from JHB.
Not sure if it's as fast as my Civic, but a nice car regardless.
cookybiscuit you make me civic
But mom it's a race car
Nothing could beat a civic, and I wish more people like you would understand that.
based
even stock corvette is an ultimate pleasere car
This guy is terrified. The Engine sounds amazing .
What an absolute machine.
Prob the most epic downshifts I have ever heard
I think dis one gon be gud
those downshifts are hands down the loudest and most aggresive ive ever heard.Thing picks up speed in a scary way.Just pulls and pulls relentlessly it seems
That road is fantastic. As a child I would have so enjoyed cruising it on my Big Wheel!
:0)
I liked his Style. No lag, Smooth!
Look like a well sorted car, love it!!
So much ‘Murica in that sound, love it!
Jesus, the sound of that overrun!
That is a well crafted speed machine.
4:55 Loudest Downshift on this Channel.
I rarely comment on these videos but this is in my top 5 favorite one takes. This is one of the only videos recently where the speed actually translated on camera! This thing looks absolutely bat shit, like 675LT fast. Owner was cool af too!
Thanks for taking the time!
Not kidding around Joel!
Nice one throwing Julio Don a mention.
stilsonian He is a standup guy, I have his kit on all three of my Corvettes
I'm not surprised if the owner is terrified. That much power with a guy who likes to drive fast in a canyon where if you lose it your life is over going down those cliffs. I like Matt but you have to have balls to do this, he may be a great driver but all it takes is the rear wheels to break a little traction. I love straight line speed but driving this route it'd be like a grandma.
This car sounds badass wow what a monster
Matts such a likable dude.
Yes, he's very good at what he does...
Great review Matt ! This is why I love c5's!!
Man, i remember seeing videos of this car on streetfire 10 yrs ago. Very cool to see the owner
NWI yes, I remember that site, used to post a lot there...
This Vette is Smokin'!

Love this guy and his vette!!
Tristan Bastiani 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻
wow,
the sound as it goes by
wow
Damn!!! now thats a really impressive car! My respects to the owner!
1 of the coolest owners ever on here!
Very kind...
I’m jealous. It looks like a well built car.
This guy really doesn't like other people driving/thrashing his car lmao you can tell .... but then again who does
That beast sounds amazing!
Really awesome getting to see this car upfront at Shifts3ctor! Amazing car! Joel is an amazingly nice guy aswell!
NargisTheViking thanks, really appreciate that!
Anytime Brotha!
