I never looked up or knew the curb weight of a C5 Corvette but I do know a 2001 Mustang Gt coupe weighs 3,200 lbs so when I looked up and saw they both weigh the same that baffles me.
You can tell this was a review done by true car guys. Not one mention of the C5's dash that gets criticized by the posers. Who's looking at the radio buttons when you're doing 11-second passes? 😎
I've had at least one C4, C5, C6 and C7 (currently on my second C6 Z06) and the only one I actually miss, and REALLY miss, is my 2003 Z06. I know the interior was crap and all that but the car just felt so much more light and nimble than the C6 and C7 models (I've driven a C8 but just a few minutes). I did a mild build on my 2003, taking the LS6 up to 474whp, and it was the perfect daily driver. This one is a beauty. Stay safe everyone. Cheers from Florida.
What a fantastic car! Big kudos on a terrific build. Ride height? Perfect. Wheel offset? Perfect. Exhaust? Umm, what's better than perfect? It is *so* easy to get the exhaust wrong behind a 6.2. This, by far, is the best I've ever heard. I'll take this over a $$$$ Akropovic 100 times out of 100. My only gripe - if I may - is that the center stack deserves better than a universal-fit kit for the stereo. What a stunning machine!

I had a ‘99 Trans Am with an LS1 and 6-speed and it was so fun to drive. I lost my license and had to get a workonly permit because I was always getting pulled over. They could hear me coming and get ready. Ahhh, good times.

He's done so much more motor wise! This thing is absolutely nasty! The upgrades to horsepower is nutts ! Even the avalanche got major upgrades! He's also a incredible tuner! Made my c10 on point!
People can say what they want about C5 corvettes but for being a late 90s and early 2000s car they are quite timeless in my opinion. Such a sleek, powerful, and gorgeous car all around. And at a very fair price nowadays $10-12k for a nice one

That does it. I need a C5 in my life. I'm surprised those hard launches aren't hurting the transaxle. I've heard that's a weak point on these, or maybe it was the torque tube. These look so sleek with the hidden headlights. Better than C6 for sure.

I’m a car guy through and through and a C5Z06 owner. This car is unbelievable and exactly as I would build mine. It would’ve been nice had you put the car on a track to show what it can do versus a bunch of clips hopping first thru third in a straight line for 200 ft. I can only imagine this car’s potential.
A car a lot of people can afford and on top of that you can drive it and beat on it with no worries... Once I get caught up on some things this is what I'm going for... only 2 changes would be sleepy eyes headlight kit and black exhaust tips

I'm old school. I do prefer it that way....costs less...strong AF....and can rebuild it all day long...I tear into engines for a living and I RARELY see cylinder wall issues near the coolant jackets in cast iron motors...
Yea it’s cheaper. We don’t get any iron blocks here in the U.K. in fact Aluminium blocks are more common, they came in the Vauxhall Monaro. I say more common, but still rare.

Is that the stock LS6 intake? Be interested to see how much it would pick up with a FAST 102 at that power level. Also an interesting choice to go with a bored out 6.0 iron block over an LS2 or LS3 aluminum block for a N/A combination (although the iron blocks are cheaper/easier to find).
tbh I have a FAST 102 on my 6.2 Camaro and it doesn't make much of a difference. probably not too much HP gains if you stay N/A. I can imagine if you go procharged it'll be perfect for it
@@fir3gun That's bc you have an LS3 and the stock LS3 intake is one of the best factory intakes ever made. On an LS with cathedral port heads the FAST makes a bigger difference, especially when you're flowing enough air to make over 500 rwhp like this guy's setup.
@@nowayjose596 I wouldn’t say a “bigger” difference regardless. My 6.0 iron block with 243 heads and a Fast 102 barely even pushed out 16hp+ in 80 degree weather in South Texas. Just depends. I’d take the ls6 intake all day but I plan on going boost later lol

I have always gone with borla in terms of exhaust. My 2010 SS has Extremes with cats, my 2007 Corvette has Borla S Type with no Cats and a cam. Cant go wrong either way

I have the same color on my 04.So I have been kind of torn on taking off the center like door guard trim .I have to say after watching this car on video,and seeing Vettes with them off I have to say I am leaving it on.It in my opinion adds to the looks of it.
I have yet to warm up to a C7,C8 Vette with it's angular design language. I always had a sweet spot for C4 and C5 Vettes and this one is truly great executed.
