@Realityy308 think about what you're saying. Of course C5 owners would say that, that's why they own one. What you're saying is exactly the same as the 'stupid' phrase 'why is it I always find it in the last place I looked?' When was the last time you saw someone keep looking after they already found it? If a person believed a C5 is the best Vette, then why would you expect they'd look for a C7 or C8? Otherwise I understand your point, beauty is objective and the very reason every manufacturer plays with designs and aesthetics, in an attempt to appease the greatest number of buyers.
@@Realityy308 Uh, read my comment again. Did I use the word "better" anywhere?? Exactly, no I did not. So, speaking of people who say "stupid shit".... I used the objectively provable term - "cleaner" - meaning fewer jagged lines, sharp edges, folds, and creases in the body shape - in other words "cleaner" or "less busy". The shape also has less overall drag but does sacrifice body lift advantages at high speed. To most designers and purveyors of "art", elegant simplicity is a timeless attribute. This is why some of the most iconic auto shapes ever created (Ferrari Daytona, C2 Corvette,, AC Cobra, Mercedes 300 SLR) share similar attributes with simple flowing body curves that blend together seamlessly. The C7s and C8s, as nice looking as they are, have a definite "transformer" look to them that places them firmly in a specific time period - not very timeless. In 20 years, they will look dated and ordinary and the graceful, simple lines of the C5 will hold even stronger appeal.
Nice video bro! Love these cars! This was the last year and most Nostalgic before Chevy went cray cray! Nothing says Corvette more to me than the 4 tail lights and pop up head lights. My personal fav was the 1988. Last year of the digital dash!
Im so close to getting a c5, ive got 3 picked out all around the same condition mileage and price, ones black ones grey and ones that magnetic red color.
I have a 1999. k & N intake, stainless steel headers, Magna flo exhaust. Other than that, I try to keep it original as possible, for someday possible a good selling point. You don't want to many Modifications.
My 2001 Z06 was one of the best, most reliable cars I have ever owned. Great power and gas mileage. When the window seals go, it drips right on your crotch. The computer is mounted very low in the passenger footwell and moisture can become a problem. The seats are shit and should be the first thing replaced when buying one. Other than that, they're a blast.
I got a Millennium Yellow 2004 C5 Corvette Base for $16k… Idk if I paid was way too much. 😅 It has a 6 speed, all stock, owned by a 73 year old old man and luckily it has a 41,000 miles. Registration and taxes was nearly $1900. Spent $2400 for all fluids to be replaced, 2 belts replaced, the steering rack position sensor replaced and service active handling to be fixed. i also had them tighten the end links. I love my car but still, I don’t know if I paid alot for it. 🤔
Well if it makes you feel better I just picked up a 2002c5 torch red,manual,37,000 miles 18,500 but it's in very good condition.I want to put headers and exaughst, tune, and enjoy it.I had one ten years ago and I payed 18,ooo for it.They really are amazing cars, very fun on the street.
@@jaedin716swthanks for the reply. I love my vette. I’m thinking of getting a duck bill, billy boat exhaust, long tube headers, arp harmonic balancer and other things after 6 months.
I WOULD NOT LOWER IT BUT ITS YOUR CAR I HAVE TROUBLE SCRAPING speed bumps pot holes pulling in and out of my drive way already it would be nice to have that device the c8 corvettes have that will raise up at the press of the button
I don't see many regular C5's running around here in the midwest. If I did buy one it would have to be at least a Z06. IMO if you want a cheap vette I would opt for a C6 preferably an LS3. I hear you on trying to keep a black car clean. Its impossible. You can spend hours cleaning it the minute you drive it its filthy again.
5:14 "I can't believe more people can't have these", really? That would simply be because these are out of production. Every C5 that exists has an owner so to increase ownership would require GM to make more. The only otherway to get more people in the game would be part ownership but that is not technically 'owning' but sharing (possibly 'having'). Great video though, just a point on wheel spacers, shifting the centre of the wheel outboard risks placing much greater load on the wheel bearings. To fill the fenders we really should be playing with rim width and offset to keep the wheel centreline over the bearings.
Get the hang of easing off the clutch from a stop, that’s the most important step. Do that in a parking lot until you feel comfortable in first gear at low speeds. I will post a how to drive manual tutorial this week!
Bro does this car really only have 353 HP? I really must get one, but 2001-2003. And it's good in one sense to be old. I know how to drive a stick. This one would be a dream.
So much cleaner looking than the newer C7s and C8s. That's why C5s are called "timeless".
C5s look sleek and good but saying it looks better than a c7 laughable 😂. It’s always people that have c4s or c5s that say some stupid shit like that

It's actually the best Corvette, it really was the peak.
C6.
You're not lying.

355 crank hp from factory, headers, intake, tune, that brought me to 355 whp. Pick up that c5 bro trust me!
Try to get a 2001-2004 avoid the 97-00 if possible

Don't bother going LS9. Just build the LS1 and super charge it. By the way.. highly suggest some real tires. Like a Nt05 or equivalent.
Don't put spacers on the front. It's gonna mess up the handling
do you have a burble tune on it or is this just how the car is with headers and straights?

Nice ride, and the spoiler is great addition. Sounds Bad Ass. It would be Very hard to not get a thousand tickets.😂
The famous Justanotherdayinacrazyworld C5 🗣️🗣️
Welcome to the club 👏🇬🇧
I know I'm getting old, I prefer this type of interior to a wall of touch screens for everything.
Again the C5 is pretty fast already and traffic is miserable already our country should have more race tracks
hey man i just got one but i suck at driving manual and im scared im gonna break it any tips?

why you blocking the speedometer?

Does your interior or targa top rattle or squeak?
Adjustable screws on the sides will help
Yes and especially since lowering it more
Cause there f…….. awesome
Do they crackle and pop naturally lol sounds like a v8 bmw
They do with headers and exhaust, but I think this guy has a burble tune on his
Not on any other video of these that I've watched.
Love the car, hoping to get a C5 vert. Not a fan of the exhaust, prefer the four tips.
Great video, from factory chevy claims 355whp
Factory advertises crank horsepower. Stock 2002 makes ~ 300 whp.
Why are you covering the cluster.
Speeding, bro.
I have 02

GM has to abide by regulations, we don’t.
