I recently bought a 2003 C5 Convertible with 49500K miles. 6spd manual and I am still learning how the computer onboard works, and traction control,etc. I previously owned a '76 L48 Stingray and sweet Baby Jesus! How times have changed! I gave $23k for the '03

Great car, own a 00 myself with a big cam and 400whp. The only thing that annoys me about these cars and C4s is the SMC material they are made out off, not a lot of panel shops are willing to touch it if you have any damage to fix it's not like fibreglass to work with.

beautiful C5 with tasteful rear wing, looks fabulous! I have an 03 black Z06 with red/black interior. She's built, blown and lowered about an inch. 580 RWHP. Bought her in 2012 for 25K. Stock rims and tires so she cannot do a proper dig. She loves embarrassing Hellcats on freeway rolls.

I bought mine a 2001 torch red 6 speed with 42 k miles in 2011 and then I bought new a 2014 7 speed that I have now have had for 10 years The things I like better is the brightness of the headlights and more comfortable seats on long rides that I have done 3200 4200 and 1800 miles !!!

Nice! 353 RWHP is right around where a stock LS6 C5 Z06 makes. The Z06 is lighter, but you have better 4.10 gearing. You should be running mid 12's @ 114+ mph with this C5, on average. The 2001-2004 LS1 C5 MN6 runs about 13.1 @ 110 stock, so that's a nice power upgrade you have! 👍

My 2001 Z06 was one of the best, most reliable cars I have ever owned. Great power and gas mileage. When the window seals go, it drips right on your crotch. The computer is mounted very low in the passenger footwell and moisture can become a problem. The seats are shit and should be the first thing replaced when buying one. Other than that, they're a blast.

Don't put spacers on the front. It's gonna mess up the handling

just got a job at a hospital im gonna save up for a C5 but i dont know how to drive manual is it really worth it to get a manual and learn it or would i not be missing out on much if i got automatic

Don't bother going LS9. Just build the LS1 and super charge it. By the way.. highly suggest some real tires. Like a Nt05 or equivalent.

Aside from the popping, that sounds almost exactly like my C5, which has a street-legal stainless steel racing exhaust with high-flow cats. The sound it makes on throttle is addictive and invites you to floor it. Smiles per gallon is off the charts.

I don't see many regular C5's running around here in the midwest. If I did buy one it would have to be at least a Z06. IMO if you want a cheap vette I would opt for a C6 preferably an LS3. I hear you on trying to keep a black car clean. Its impossible. You can spend hours cleaning it the minute you drive it its filthy again.
