- In this video, YOU get in the driver seat of a cammed, full-bolt-on, LS3 swapped C5 Corvette. This C5 Corvette is not only heavily modified in engine performance, but it also received several modifications to it's suspension, inspired by the C6 Z06. Originally, the C5 Corvette came armed with the LS1 that made around 345HP, which is not bad, for the time... However, the owner decided to take a more devious approach to power, and introduced a cammed, LSA Ported, LS3 engine (along with supporting mods) that makes right around 580 crank HP, or 500WHP! This reminds me of right after I got my c5z tuned on 93, car made 583whp with a vortech blower on 11lbs of boost. Cammed, had headers and X pipe. Put some 200 treadwear tires for autocross and it hooked and booked. Biggest smile on my face I ever got in my life.
Loved it so much that I got another c5z to build, and this time went all out with a freshly rebuilt LS6 with forged rods and pistons and an even more aggressive cam and a clutch. Transmissions already a tick stage 3.
Tentative goal of 720whp on E85 for this one now.

The LS in general, particularly in a C5 or C6 vette. They sound good in camaros and trucks too, but something about the sound of a corvette exhaust system is special. @@josiahthibodeaux

Thank you sir. C5 LS3 gang! NA LS3 usually make best safe power around mid 12s AFR. Every setup and engine is a little different but that’s typical rule of thumb, but most peak at 12.3-12.7 AFR, regardless if it’s 93 or E85.

high 60's in second with stock gearing. I have the same LS3 in a camaro
60 is top of 1st with 3.42 rear end and 7k rpm with the T56.

The C5 base/FRC T56 gearing is same as C6Z gearing. 60 is top of first near 7k.

What's up with that afr? Seems very lean under light and partial throttle. Considering it's in the 12's at WOT that makes me think it's accurate.
Lean under very light load, such as idle or cruising, as long as it’s not super lean like in 18s, is not an issue. It’s an open loop tune, so no O2 correcting and keeping it around 14.7.
Regardless it’s been fine tuned afterwards and corrected to be closer to 14-16 on all cruising, idle and light load conditions.

Yea, If you're going to invest in a Vette, putting a cam in it at the very least is worth it. Problem is, then you can't stop. Next, it's the Pro charger, headers, E85, injectors, low side fuel pumps...etc. It's a very expensive addiction to have...but DAMN, if it isn't worth it!!! 😂😂
If anything just save up and boost it. You really don’t need anything else unless you want absolutely ridiculous amounts of power

I guess…. depends on cam and heads then. My shop keeps telling me it will be very hard to get 500 na wheel on my LS6. Which already dynod at 363 bone stock.

Going to listen to them instead of some doofus online. 550 whp na on LS6 with a street-able idle is not that easy. Joe Cordez has told me this like 4x. Cam, heads, long tubes, 90mm TB, FAST manifold gets at best like a hair under 500 wheel. Unless you get 93 octane. And go with a stage 3 cam. Which won’t idle nice on the street I don’t have 93 octane in Az. This is why I’m beyond confused. Hard to believe internet video with zero dyno proof.
