    This is unbelievable. I recently made an eye of agamotto with opening eye., but i always thought the rotating parts were impossible to fit in such a tiny space. I will DEFINITELY be building this. Well done, and thank you for releasing this work to the community. You have a subscriber

      Thanks! That means a lot, I have literal bins of test parts while figuring out how to get the rings moving. Please post pictures when you get yours together and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

      @@enza3dllc731 the only thing id say is it would be awesome if it was smaller. I totally understand how much editing is required, but im tempted to give it a go
      id love to do a colab with you sometime.

      @@DynamicEllieCurrently the limiting factor for size is actually the servo motor, I had to pick something with enough torque to turn the whole gear assembly while still being battery powered. If I could find a smaller motor with sufficient torque I would be happy to make a smaller one!
      If you are willing to let go of the servo motor and crank it by hand (the parts to do that are included with the file pack), you should be able to scale the whole thing down to 66%. All the hardware and shafts are 3mm, so you would have to use 2mm components. The existing stone wouldn't fit, and you may need a smaller non-RGB LED, but other than that it should work. We haven't test printed this yet, but if you do, let us know how it goes!
      We'd love to collab sometime too - feel free to DM us anytime :)

      I'll play with some ideas and if i figure something out I'll let you know. I defo want it all motorised though. I use a reed switch in my current set up so that my GF cam do the spell actions with a magnet on her finger.

    Is it possible to make an algorithm, in order to pause the rotation of the gears itself for maximum of 3-4 secs? I've been wondered for a long time now.

    Amazing work, and fantastically detailed instructions. Well done. Any tips on how to stop the rims on the holes for the gears on the baseplate (eye-main-plate-3-2mm-holes.stl) breaking off when you ream them out to 3mm? seems like the wall depth is too shallow to cope (but you clearly did!). Thanks.

    What kind of pins and screws are used? They're not specified in the kit, which is currently sold out.

    • @enza3dllc731
      @enza3dllc731  2 года назад +1

      Hey Max! They're 3mm pins and 3mm screws. The kit is sold out because I am on the very cusp of releasing an entirely new design, with more features, simpler electronics, simpler assembly, and 1:1 design. I'm hoping to release it in the next 2 weeks or so.

      @@enza3dllc731 Thanks for the information, but what lengths are the pins and screws? I’m interested to see the new design, but I’m building this one for the premiere of multiverse of madness.
      That said, I’ll likely make the new design for an MCU-inspired doctor StrangeFate costume I have planned but on the meantime knowing the lengths (and gauges) of the no -printable parts is essential.

    any way you can link a control board to get the servo to activate?

  • @tlagrei
    @tlagrei 4 года назад

    Hi!
    Just want to thank you for this, it's great!
    I have one problem, the 180 deg turn og the servo is not enough to turn the eye all the way. Not even close. What am I doing wrong? Everything works fine (after some adjustments) but it simple not turning all the way because of the gears. The servo goes all the way from 0-180. Everything printed as described

    • @enza3dllc731
      @enza3dllc731  4 года назад

      Hi Terje, Thanks for checking it out! For the servo, this unit requires a continuous rotation servo, these are a special variant of servo that dont have positional control, they instead rotate in a direction based on the PWM input but instead of position being controlled their rotational speed is controlled. I dont know where in the world you are located but here is an example of one. www.robotshop.com/en/9g-continuous-rotation-micro-servo.html
      Alternatively there a lot of good youtube videos on how to modify a normal 0-180 servo to work like a continuous rotation servo (since you already have one) Let me know if you have any questions

    I'm really wanting to buy this to print my own but I have a kind of small printer (it prints 220mm wide at the largest) so could you tell me what the dimensions of the largest piece in the kit are just so I know if it will fit in my printer?

    • @enza3dllc731
      @enza3dllc731  4 года назад +1

      Hi Taylor, I believe 220mm is plenty to print these, I did the whole thing on a Prusa i3. The files to print are completely free on MMF if you want to give it a shot, link is in the description
