Two years later this motor is going strong ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
Thank you for the video.i just bought a Seahawk 3 and the same motor you have.looking forward to taking my grandson fishing.I can tell by your video you are a super dad!
Hii, I've never had any kind of boat before and I want to get a similar boat (Seahawk 4 cause I read it's more durable and sturdy) to drive if along the coast at the beach and maybe sometimes beach it, go lay on the beach for a bit, and drive the boat back home (I live next to a river that connects to the sea). Do you think a trolling motor would be powerful enough to make sure I don't get sucked onto the ocean by strong currents or some wind? It would usually just be me but maybe some passengers every now and then, but idk if I'd take them out to the beach so probably just me. Any advice? :)
id suggest a 40 pound motor if possible just to make sure but if you really need the 30 pound you can try putting some stick on fins on the bottom of the boat for extra control when your in rough waters (i know this works with kayaks but I'm not too sure with these inflatable boats)
Question. I noticed that after transporting my Excursion 5 with the ratchet straps. It has become flaccid. Seems like the rubber/vinyl stretched. Did you experience the same?
I own them both the excursion 5 is awesome for calm lakes like the one shown in the video as long as u don't over inflate it or drag it on the ground it's solid had mine 3 years no leaks used it about 10 times!!!
Does the motor and battery run ok with long cable. My motor only has 4 foot of cable (8AWG Cable) out of the box but I'd like to extend it so the battery could atleast reach the middle of the IE5.
@@memike9621 I was advised by a 12v electrician to keep the cable around 7ft because there could be a voltage drop. I'd like it 8ft or 9ft max, whats your thoughts?
The Tequila Hour I see it for around the same on Amazon. But my frugal heart won’t let me pay as much for it, ow that I know it was available for around $130 pre COVID. Soon hopefully. Enjoy.
@@vishalpmehta I'm really frugal also. I needed to get on the water this season, so I spent the extra $$$. If it last me at least 2 years, I won't regret it.
Hi. Would that 30lb be enough for an Excursion 4 for 2 adults and 2 kids...? I see it moves pretty fast with you 3 on board. Which battery are u using? Thanks!
@@memike9621 Hi. Update, I bought a 34lb/36in MinnKota. I'm powering it with a Group 24 Duracell HP24DC deep cycle battery. It proved to be amazing with two adults and two kids. Went camping for a weekend and the battery lasted the two days, about 2 hrs in the lake each day. Of course, I wasn't going at full sail 100% of the time, but on day 2 I was actually trying to discharge the battery... Thanks!
They sell Motor mounts for these boats.. they're really only meant for trolling motors I think. I bought this boat at Academy Sports & the motor mount was only about $35 good luck ✌❤😊
@@InsertFXVlog Hi😊 I’m doing this myself & know nothing about boat motors etc.. Do u have any tips/advice on an Inexpensive trolling motor and small battery to buy? & What I could put battery On or IN for stability? I’m not ready to put a hard floor in, If I even do, so trying to think of a small area where the battery could sit. I plan to order the Intex motor mount & want to keep everything simple for quick easy setup. Ive used the boat as it comes 3-4x’s & really enjoy it. Easily launches from & beaches up on sandbar while kids swim, I would LOVE to not Have to paddle all over the lake! Lol 🥱 thanks 4 any input ✌️❤️😊

The carpet looks amazing
What materials did you use and how you did it?
Could you please tell us more about it?
Thanks
What if people splash water on the battery? Or the motor? Does it fail after that? And how do you charge the battery and how long does it last
