- I test 3 props for both my trolling motors on my Intex mariner 4 boat in a head to head battle measuring speed vs current draw, the results are mind blowing to say the least... if you would like to try these props for yourself, here are the links....

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! if you go to APC's website.... there are two different 10X5 props, make sure you select and order the one in the link.... 10X5m-LH, it is very important so that you may get the correct prop... I'm sorry for any confusion.
If you're handy with a drill, I recommend these props also to try on your trolling motor, just use a 3/8 drill bit to open up the hub where the shaft goes in, and get a small file to carve a spot for the sheer pin!!!

Let me know if you want me to try the APC 10X8!!! This is my first tech vid.... If it gets tons of views and likes, I'll buy and try that prop, and who knows, I'm thinking of building my own electric outboard on a budget.....
Please!
One is on order.... Should be here in a few days...!!!
But just a 10X8 prop, I don't have the money to buy a bigger trolling motor at the moment
dont get the 10x14 it wont work - i tried for jokes. lol. would like to see 10x8.
@@JosephMBoyer how did it go, I'm genuinely curious...lol???
Hi Codyakfishing, I wanted to give you, my updates. I followed your suggestion and went to Home Depot with my prop. Found the correct bolt to simulate the prop shaft and started digging through the washers. Found a M10 that fit perfectly. It took 4 of them to stack to the threads. I just went out yesterday and wow! The prop is faster, but I what I found most impressive was the quiet and smooth ride. Totally different from both the stock prop and the 3 blade Kipewa. I trolled nonstop for 7 hours and usually the battery would be at 70 something percent when I put it on charge. It was at 88 percent, what an incredible savings. I use my motor on the rental boats at my home lake. The boat is a 15-foot, flat bottom, fiberglass Carlonia Skift that weighs over 500 pounds. Thanks again for all your very timely support! You mentioned on a video you live in Colorado. I am from Colorado, a small town in Delta County on the Western Slope. Let for the Navy in 1984 and never made it back home. I do go back for hunting trips when I can. Take care and GOD bless!
That's awesome, I'm glad it worked great for you. Yea I was surprised at the balance of these props. My motor used to shake at full power but these new props eliminated it.
I`m running a Minkota Endura Max 45 on a 14 foot extra wide flat bottom. Not sure how an APC 10 x 5 would work on this setup. Thoughts?
I'm sure it would work just fine for ya
I did about the same for my kayak, with a 40# MinnKota, but I used a 12 x 5 APC prop, because it was beefier, but I cut one inch off each tip, leaving a square end shape. Worked great, but I didn't use it on my kayak much, and use it on my 14-foot aluminum v-bow flats skiff, which weighs around 300 pounds. I use it just as a trolling motor in the marshes, and I've never come back to the ramp with less than 12 volts in my 35-amp-hour battery. Prop cleans itself with a short reverse burst. Good video. TexasJim in Rockport, TX
Thanks for the tip for getting weeds off, I'm gunna have to try that... and these props for sure have much better efficiency than stock!!!!
So u made the 12x5 and 11x5 after it was cut??
I think this is one of the best side by side comparison videos ever put out. I hve both pitch blades for my motors also and I didn't have my meter hooked up but i noticed that the 5 pitch was. Little too much chop for the 30lb. I'll have to try it on my 55lb. I did just mount my 80# 24v to the front of my kayak so I'm very excited to see how that proforms. I just added minn kota quick release plates to both my tri-toon an kayak so i can swap it back and forth.
Thanks, I hope it works out on the kayak, it should do better than on my boat
Interesting! I honestly didn’t think props would make such a difference on electric trolley motors.
Trolley. Trolling
Trolley is way more fun to say.
These are great as long as you don't go through weeds.
Great video and I love how it was straight to the point
We didn’t have to watch him load up the dog air up the boat drive to the lake and help his brother move if all videos were like that that would be great
Lmao oh man you had me cracking up, Ill make sure to keep the videos straight to the point, especially the fishing parts....lmao
Prop change for a Minn Kota on an Intex Mariner 4 is the exact content I was looking for.
Important note everyone!!! Make sure if you order the 10X5 prop, you order the one the link takes you too...... make sure it's the 10X5m-LH, as there is a rc plane made prop of the same number
HI, love the video. I have the Endura 55 Minn Kota. I ordered the 10x5 from the link. When I went to install it, I realized that nut and washer does not snug up against the prop like the stock prop does. I am concerned that extra slop will casue the prop to come off the shear pin. Your thoughts and advice? You did not show the whole remove and replacment so I dont know if you used extra washers to create a stack. Thank you in advance for you reply and suggestions or thoughts on this.
@@chriscarr6392 I should have sorry, so if you got the 10x5m-lh then you would have to add washers to trash the threads of the shaft.. that's what I did and works perfectly fine, there's a couple other videos that show the install of it

@@chriscarr6392 np buddy, good luck with your setup!!!
@codyakfishing8856 Once I go with APC, I will let you my results!. Thanks again!
Obviously trolling motors aren't designed for speed, but it's impressive to see these results!
Agreed, with their stock prop they are designed for low speed tq and ability to be weedless, interestingly, the epropultion has 71lb of thrust and spins at 1500 rpm, same as the 24v 86lb motor I have, I want to try an epropultion prop on my 86lb, possibly my next trolling motor video???

Your welcome man, glad you liked it and hoped it helped you out!!!
Lets go taking this channel to infinity and beyond!
anyone try 3d print these apc props
Man I'd love to try it....
Why? They're so cheap?
Look like model airplane props, who would've thought! Might not be the best choice for a weedy lake. Fascinating thanks much!
No problem, APC is a model airplane prop company, but the props I tested they designed for specifically for trolling motors. I don't think I'll go back to stock
The video I didn’t know I needed. Thank you so much, I ordered right after the video ended.
I'm glad it helped!! Let me know how it works out for u

With out a doubt I liked and subscribed and bought 2 sets of 10X4 props and if I watched all of the way to the end ! I would have bought the 10 X 5 just for what you said the sheer pin being incased in the hub on both sides!🤨crap! I’ll just have to buy 2 or 6 more of the 10X5 s … thanks I look forward to to going faster with less amp draw!!! Awesome man ! Good job!
Hope it works out good for ya, yea the props are so cheap it's worth stocking up on a few different ones
Thanks!! I tested yesterday. It worked very well, was 1-2 gear faster than original one. Hope the battery life can be improved as well.
It very well should, I will add however, that the battery savings are better on the pwm models (no speeds, ones with 1-100%
Great video and great comparison. I do wish you would have ended with a tabular comparison of all the spped/current results. I couldn't remember all 15 of the 30# test runs and the 3 45# motor runs by the end. Still, good video and thanks for taking the time to make it.
If you click on my channel then go onto my community posts, I have all the numbers to compare, sorry I tried a graph app but it didn't work out
How durable are they compared to stock? Like if you hit a rock. Also, weeds could be a problem for those straight props.
I'm not sure how durable they are, they feel pretty robust.... And for weeds they aren't the best in them
Nice to know this info. I think I'm going to get one for my 55lb minn kota endura max.
Nice I hope it works for you, just fyi you will need washers to install, but it's easy and straight forward.....
Your a hero. So glad I came across your video. Ive been looking at E outboards for a while but after this Ill be continuing use of my minn kota 55. Ive been running my minn kota 55 for around 2 years and upgraded battery first and added a PWM. The PWM is huge and I would definitely recommend. Ill gladly show you my setup. I think with the APC prop ill see some big improvement.
That's awesome, I hope it works out for you!!!!
Codyak Fishing - It's been a little over a year since you made this video. Are you still using the APC props? Have you had any issues in that time?
Which prop did you settle on?
@@DeanMk1 I've been meaning to make a follow up, but truth be told I'm a bit low on funds and can't get my little boat registered, I've used it a dozen more times and settled on the 10x5m-lp and haven't had many issues with it, other than some weeds now and again
Amazing speed! Wow! Im sold! Thanks for sharing! Definitely subbed. 😊
Thanks, yea I was pretty surprised on the performance of these props, if there's any other test you'd like to see lmk....
Sorry I feel like I'm late to the party but what app are you using to show the nautical maps?
I'm using navionics, it cost 10 bucks but gives u a topo map of many common lakes along with speed
Well, just ordered both pitch, also ordered the 8 inch pitch but I am afraid it will cavitate. Only one way to know! Thanks for the video!
That's great good luck with em, I ordered the 10X8 already, maybe a video on it Friday, stay tuned!!
Great video! Going to have to test this out on my 14' jon boat with the minn kota 55lb. Will be happy to get to my fishing spots quicker with more energy saved. Have you noticed any real felt difference when carrying more weight onboard?
I haven't tried more weight yet, with the kids in school now and the wife working full time, it's tough to find a day we can all go out together, let me know how it works out on your Jon boat, I'm interested to know .....

I agree I'd love to see how they fair on the river ways.
@@mengkhang1037 I took it out on a windy day and didn't lose much speed, maybe .2 mph, so they defiantly have the push, something I wasn't expecting considering the size of the blades
I also bought the care kit that is a weed shroud since it’s mounted on the rudder I’d have to get out of yak to clear. Opted not to do the drop in so can still peddle up on the fishing spots.
Very nice!!!

APC props are really tough too. They can ground strike and keep goin pretty well. I’ve been using them on R/C airplanes for years
That's great to know, I'm going to use the APC prop exclusively until it breaks
I used to fly 3D airplanes, those look like props for gas engines. Significantly stiffer than for electric motors.
Sorry I'm late to this, these props actually feel more robust than they look, I'm sure if you hit something they would take more damage than stock...
Over 82 stinkin dollars for a Jackson Kayak prop on their website delivered to my door! Under $20 through APC! NO BRAINER!

i like these props, i got both myself. only issue I got is they are far from weedless. lol. but they really are great replacement props for bargain.
That's a bummer, I don't usually fish weeds myself, and I use my motor as more of an outboard, but I think the tradeoff is worth it, maybe if you get the thumbscrew kit and just swap props when your fishing heavy weeds, only takes a minute
@@codyakfishing8856 Thanks for your video. I bought the 10x8M-LH marine prop. I haven't tested it yet, but I mounted it on my Endura Max 55 with a Bullnose rudder and a TH Grass Goat. The Goat is adjustable, so you can set it's blade near the prop.
That's awesome man, let me know how it works for you!! I haven't tested it yet, I had severe weather on my last day off then I got sick... Been a rough week
Was your battery on water life affected? I mean more or less hours on the water
With the 10x5m-lh prop I saved a lot of battery time, I went from using 36 to 26 amps at full power, which is 27% power savings, which in term gains me 27% more battery life on the water
It would be interesting to test them in weeds to see how they handle it. Thanks for the great video
I did off camera, they are worthless in weeds...lol
Thats crazy! Great info! Just ordered one.
Awesome man hope it works out for u!!!
Hi Cody, That was impressive. Please if I am wrong help me understand. From your experiment it seems the better deal is the c2 30Lb. For the gain in Mph the 55lb cost twice as much as the C2 for very little gain. It looks like the 10/4 was the winner for the C2 but both worked better than stock. I just ordered the C2 and 10/5 for my nucanoe unlimited. Thank you so much for doing the research it was very helpful in making my decision.
Np, hope it all works out good for ya!!!!
That intro is pure earrape jesus
I know I'm sorry, I fixed it since.... I was playing with a new video app and I think I accidentally turned it all the way up and uploaded it before I realized it.
Looks great but how durable is it once that thin.prop it's a stump or rock...might break easier vs original props
It would definitely take more damage over stock, but for me the speed and battery savings is worth the trade off.
Before anyone runs out and buys one of these APC props keep in mind that they get tangled in the weeds very easily and when they do they don't want to turn anymore and it amps out the motor creating hot wires and possibly tripping the circuit breaker.
@@WillSelbyKayakFishing 100% correct, I'd only recommend them on watercraft where you can easily get to/clean the prop off. Back of a kayak isn't ideal
@codyakfishing8856 if you turn your prop left or right then gun it in reverse you can clear the weeds but it's a pain in the butt and heats up the wires pretty good.
Jeez, you could go ~15 miles on that 10x5 prop full bore for nearly 4 hours, assuming you have a 100AH lithium. Or 20+ miles at 1/2 throttle probably.
what app are you using on you phone to track the speed?
It's called navionics from the Google Play store, it has (or had I'm not sure now) a one time fee of 10$, and u get speed, a topo map of many common lakes
Holy macaroni!!!!!
You guys just blew my mind. You guys totally blew me away. I’m over here trying to figure out. What am I doing wrong I get a bigger motor. I keep my weight down what I’m carrying in my kayak and I’m never satisfied with the speed and I come across this video .!?!

@@Kathryn-n9s np, I'm so glad it helped you out. I've spent years trying out different things with weight and what not and all it was is a cheap prop....lol wish I would of known it sooner!!!
I have the exact same volt meter. I ended up buying 3 pros with diff pitches.. Will test sooon on my 30 year old but still running string 32 LB min kota.
Awesome, let me know what u come up with!!!
I flew R/C airplanes back in the 80s. I remember when APC props came along and they were a big improvement over the Master Airscrew and Top Flight Props we all used at the time. The only downside was that they were pretty ugly while sitting on the ground.(Beautiful airplane with an ugly prop) You could spend a lot of time getting a prop balanced but the APC props were usually spot on balance wise. I would put a 10x4 prop on my plane if I was doing a climb and glide competition. A 10x4 prop would make a plane climb like a rocket. For general flying I would us a 10x6 or a 10x7 if I wanted a bit more speed. All of that said I have always known that APC made a high quality product. I had NO IDEA they made trolling motor props. I will be picking up a few of these for my MinnKota Powerdrive v2 55lb thrust trolling motor. Thanks for sharing this! On another note you might try and put an aluminum or for simplicity sake a plastic snap on spinner (nose cone) on the prop and see if improves the performance any. More "aerodynamic"...
I'll ha e to make something one of these days and give it a go... I hope the props work out for u
I would love to see you test other props from them especially the one with four blades
I'll talk with APC and see if they can come up with something like that, great idea
0:45 the P designation is for pusher. Remember these are model aircraft props, in the standard configuration can be driving backwards not forwards.
True thanks for pointing that out
I think, the lighter the boat, the better is the air plane prop. for heavy boats the standard prop should be better.
You may be on to something, I'm going to have to test that out....
Trolling motor blades are designed to be quiet. Im curious to know if those blades are any different as fare as sound goes. I know they real loud on airplanes.
Hey sorry I'm late, I agree, in air they are loud but I don't hear anything different from the boat from stock to the APC prop
I would think the model airplane props may not work well if you touch bottom or get into some weeds/etc..
I've hit bottom once with little damage, and correct they are not weedless
I looked on Amazon and what I’m seeing is these props are for rc planes. Are these the same as the ones you’re demoing?
Thanks for the great content
No, the ones I have are made specifically for trolling motors, I have links in the description to both props
You could wrap some braided line around the hub and fix it with some c/a, (super glue), to close off the drive pin channel. APC makes great props for my radio control models as well.
Thanks for the tip, I find the 10X5 prop fits my needs more for my bigger motor, I contacted APC and I'm going to test even more props in the future, I also mentioned to them to make the 10X4 with the same hub design as the 10X5
Make a video trying a “toroidol” prop on a Minn Kota because i think there is a lott to win with these motord
I tried looking for one and couldn't find anything, plus I don't own nor know how to use a 3d printer ..lol if u happen to run across one that would work id be happy to try it
Nice comparison, but I can't imagine trying to go through aquatic vegetation with those props.
Sorry it's late I was on vacation, when I went through weeds it did get tangled a little, but not as bad as you'd think
Do you think the 10x5 performance would extrapolate to 86lb trolling motors? Or do you recommend even higher pitch / diameter?
I'm not sure and I want to try it, I think the 86 has the same rpm, just more pitch to their stock prop, wouldn't hurt to try though
Subscribed! Keep us posted! I want to see my kipawa blade put to shame and buy something better!
Are the kipawa's any good? I hear good and bad on them
So when you added the RC prop isn't the prop facing the wrong direction since you are using the pin????
I'm not sure I understand what your saying, APC is an rc prop company, but they produced these props specifically for trolling motors
If you can get it, try an APC 9X6 prop. it will have the same load factor as a 10X4 an mabe better speed.
I'll see what I can do, I don't have the proper tools to make the sheer pin fit, but..... I have something much bigger planned in regards to trolling motors here in a while
Nice test! The believe the difference would be even larger with a different boat. Your boat probably has a really low hull speed, and thus most of the energy goes into making waves. Standard trolling motor props are designed to have high torque and to cut weeds, so it explains why they're not very efficient.
I thought the same thing, but I recently bought a 12' aluminum v hull boat and have the same top speed...lol but it definitely cuts through the water much better....
Thanks for the video ! We have a 40lb on a raft, a 55 on our sailboat and a 112 on our pontoon. I would be interested if suitable props fit the 112 .
I just placed my order for 4 0f the 10x5's. I saw the 10x8 but didn't order yet. I see you're gonna post a video about the 10x8, I'm really looking forward to that one. Thank you very much for all the info...I'm new to the inflatable boat world and I really don't know much about trolling motors. I share the exact same set up as you (Mariner 4 and Minn kota c2 30) You have a new subscriber...Thanks again!!!
No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed the video, im going to do my best to get out to the lake today and go more in depth with the 10X5 and I also have a 10X8 I'm going to test, you will be happy with the 10X5, but please use either a 30amp fuse or breaker with your setup
Interesting. I don't think those props would last long where I use them on hard sandy and oyster bed bottoms.
More than likely not, just have to be very careful on how deep your fishing, but at 6$ a piece it's not too unreasonable
dam you! things I didn't know I needed and you show me I can get better battery life = more time fishing
Lol exactally, no need for bigger battery, you win twice, more speed and efficiency!!!!
will this fit a minn kota terrova 55 pound?
As long as it's a 3/8 prop shaft it should fit.
I just looked up on Minn Kota s website and yes, it should fit, the enduramax 55 and terroba use the same original prop
@@codyakfishing8856 did the APC require extra washers or just drop in replacement, have you had any experience w the wing nut hand tightened nut, wonder if it really would stay on. Thanks

Sorry this is late I was on vacation, I'm not sure, if I can afford one one day I'd do it
Very strange results on the first half of larger motor with stock prop?????
How so, I'm not sure I understand...
As the battery voltage drops the amperage will increase at the same time as performance drops.
True if your running lead acid batteries, but I'm running lithium, keeps it above 12.5 volts until u run down to about 20% or so
Wonder how they handle weeds. I use the hell out of my trolling motor on my bass boat
I got tangled up a few times as I wasn't paying attention, they are definitely not weedless
Would this work well on a Minnkota Terrova 54LB thurst?
Yes sir, the 10X5m-LH would be the best possible prop
Nice prop but how does it do in the weeds?
I got tangled a little one time so far, but it wasnt too bad
Glad to see the APC props work for you but they are made for RC gas airplanes .
APC does primarily make props for drones/planes etc.... But the ones i tested in the video are specifically made for trolling motors
Is the stock prop designed more for quiet over speed?? 🤷♂️
I think the stock prop is designed for pushing heavy weight slowly, that's just my guess, I don't hear anything different between the two...
The standard prop will shed weed, where the aero props will get tangled in it.
@@peterworsley4699 I'm going to be testing more props in the near future
Was there any difference in vibration. Less vibration and noise is the fish spooker
I had no vibration at all at top speed with any props so far, these props are balanced extremely well!!!
Those are model airplane props... probably fine for pulling a rubber raft around, but not for anything heavier.
I actually want to put that to the test, I was thinking of creating drag by pulling a couple of 5 gallon buckets behind it. My theory is the original prop may have more pushing power, but how much more???
@codyakfishing8856 The width of trolling motor props is much wider to provide much more push or pull against the water during a single revolution. They aren't made for speed, which your test showed. They do provide the additional thrust required to move a heavy object. The RC props are designed to spin about 10K RPM, and they have an airfoil design to create thrust instead of a huge surface area.
@@reyn3545 I agree, for a larger craft the stock prop would be much better due to its greater tq output, although on smaller crafts such as Jon boats and kayaks I believe the tradeoff is worth it, from a speed and efficiency standpoint
not RC props? they are made for marine applications. prop design tools have just evolved considerably with the advent of advanced CAD/CAM fluid dynamics simulations abilities as well as AI integration...
Hi Cody. I found out this secret quite a while ago. Guess what. APC started making a 10X10-LH. I can't wait to put it on my motor. It's for the new Jackson Mark IV and it's turning the correct direction. Hope I don't burn out my motor. Might have to go to my larger motor. FYI.
You'd definitely need to go with a more powerful motor, at least a 24v, the 10X8 definitely came close to the max my motor can handle without more speed, so I'm gunna stick with the 10X5 for my application
👍@@codyakfishing8856
Can not believe the price my torqeedo prop was $140 bucks
That's insane!!!!
I'm sure the kota sacrifices speed for weedless running. Mine came with what they call their power prop and I switched to the weedless wedge. It's actually a slightly bigger prop, appears to be even larger surface area, lower pitch and more rake. It just goes through some of the thickest stuff without fouling. I'm sure that's why they aren't the most efficient design. I doubt that APC would do well in weeds due to 0 rake. Rake may not be the right term, whatever describes the long swept leading edge of the prop.
I agree with you, my sole purpose for my setup is speed and efficiency, if I know I'm gunna fish a very weedy area I'll switch out the prop for my weedless wedge, Im thinking of ordering the finger bolt to make the switching more convenient.
@@codyakfishing8856 oh yeah, I wasn't disagreeing with you or anything. Just stating what I believe the reason for their huge inefficiency is. If I lived somewhere I wasn't weed whacking with my trolling motor I would totally put one of these on. I can't even use the power prop though, it fouls up so much. Also it's on a fishing boat foot control motor. I have a gas outboard so speed is less important to me. It was interesting when I switched from the power to the weedless I dropped almost 1 mph max speed though. One of these days I'll put my amp clamp on and see which one is worse, Id guess the weedless even though it's slower, just a lot more surface area/drag the motor has to fight. Hydrodynamics and propellers are so interesting. I would never guess a propeller as skinny as these would actually produce more thrust with less power consumption.
Curious. I hear a fair amount of wind. That has to make a difference in both amps and speed.
I believe it did, I went from 4.5 in calm conditions to 4.2, not a huge difference but the amps did say relativity the same
Great video. Looks like I might be putting one on my 60lb. Minnkota!
Very nice, let me know how it goes, I recommend the 10X5
I understand why most of your subscribers are interested in gaining speed for there yaks with these props but I am fascinated by what this can do for me using my transom mount Minn Kota on my 16 foot Lund. Currently my average draw while fishing is about 20% of full power or 8 amps to fish at 1 mph. It appears to me that at low speeds this prop would nearly cut my amp draw in half because I almost exclusively backtroll and control drift. With your numbers this means my daily battery life would nearly double. Am I day dreaming or does this sound accurate to you?
It sounds about right to me, I was drawing about 25 amps to go 3.5 mph with the stock prop, and with the 10X5 I was drawing about 15. Now I'm not 100% sure if the savings would be the same on a larger boat, but at only 6$ you really have nothing to lose....
@@codyakfishing8856 This is a really big deal in my opinion! It could mean someone only needing a smaller lithium battery and saving a lot of money. Thank you very much for posting this. If I have a chance to test the % draw difference between OEM and the 10x5 on my Endura 40 I'll let you know my results.
@@DaveReed101 sounds great Dave I wish the best for u!!!
Great idea! Just ordered from APC. Let’s see how it does with these delta weeds!!
Be sure to let me know, where I'm from, there's not many weeds
What map/gps app is that on your phone?
It's called navionics, it has a 1 time fee of 10$
Has anyone done this comparison with an 80# thrust motor?
Idk, but I have an 86lb motor on its way too me I'm gunna test some out on!!! Keep an eye out!!!
Great comparison period
Thanks for the info I will definitely consider it.
Np, hope you enjoyed the vid
Good morning. I just came across your video. I need to look into getting some of these-thank you for showing them. Wondering what app you are using also for the speed? Thank you and have a good day
Your welcome, and hope you have a great day as well, the app I'm using is called navionics, there's a one time fee of 10$ but it's worth it
@@codyakfishing8856 thank you for responding and for the information!
@@rayjrdibenedetto867 no problem at all, consider subbing, when I reach 500 subs, I'm gunna build a budget electric outboard, at 1/3 of the cost of epropultion
Hey, I just purchased the APC 10 X 5M - LH to go on my Newport 55lb trolling motor and noticed the pin is a larger diameter than what is on the APC prop slot. I also checked my Minn Kota 35lb trolling motor and the pin is slightly smaller than the Newport but still larger diameter than the APC prop slot. Did you have to modify the prop slot to fit or just press it onto the pin? by the way shaft diameter is no issue. Thanks for the video, it is great information!
I didn't have to modify it for my minn Kota 30 or 55, but if it's an 1/8 inch sheer pin it does fit tight into the recess.kf the prop, it sorta just pops right in
thank you again !

@@genebradburn8804 np, did u get it to work?
Yes, and I am very impressed with the speed and battery life upgrade ! Thanks !

Thanks for posting this video, I had no idea these were even available.
Np, I didn't either until I was bored one night looking up random stuff....lmao
I want you to run into a few stumps😂🤣 I wonder how it would do on a full size boat and I wonder if they break easy. Imust say, I’m shocked at how tough my minn kota prop has held up to my off reading, stump hitting and rock grinding.
Oh I bet it would break easier than the stock prop, I may get a Coleman crawdad boat tommarow so we shall see if it performs better
would these props work on a Motorguide trolling motor?
If the prop shaft is 3/8 and turns the same direction as Minn Kota there's no reason y it wouldnt
Great video I’m getting one for sure hey what is that app on your phone doing the speed ?
It's called navionics, there is a one time fee of 10$ to access it
@@codyakfishing8856 ok thanks man appreciate it 👍

My 36 lbs minn kota goes faster then my 55 lbs Minn kota. With stock props.
Wow that's wierd, same boat and all??
Yes same boat and all. I bought it thinking more top speed.
These are airplane props, correct? How do I know which one fits my MK Pro 38?
I'm not familiar with the mk pro 38, but as long as the shaft size is 3/8" and your sheer pin is 1/8" it should fit, u may need to use washers, if it's not those dimensions, I have props Ive recommended from Amazon at the bottom of my description, just drill out hub to match prop shaft size and use a file to carve out a little grove for the sheer pin

This is the one I ordered from Amazon.
@@edfitzgerald187 can u share me a link??
@@edfitzgerald187 or did u get it from my description? Sry I have a lot going on. Lol
I don't think that prop will work for you, I'm pretty sure your trolling motor prop turns CCW (looking at the prop) so if you install that one you may go in reverse when you engage your motor forward, the two props at the bottom of my description are both CCW props and should be the correct rotation for your motor
Durability tho with those thin blades would be my concern.
I agree, but at 6$ a pop if I go through 3 or 4 a season I won't be too upset
It would be interesting to see if adding a nozzle/shroud around the APC prop, or even just a top fin would help with additional speed by directing the thrusts.
My first outboard motor for my kayak was a 24v rover push mower motor with a cut down 9x6apc nitro aeroplane prop it lasted for a long time before the exposed motor seized but only after I left it submerged for several day’s
Bro I need a pic of it....
@@codyakfishing8856 sorry it’s long been disposed of, it was originally made for the 2011 floods as a means of navigating the new wetlands lol, it was an easy motor for projects like that having a metric threaded shaft, I have another interesting motor I’m currently refreshing for the next season it’s based on a 29cc pope trimmer and over 10 years old I might put up a video on it being tuned and running the yak
@@needmoreboost6369 I'm interested in seeing this, keep me posted!!!
So what prop do I need or recommend for a 55 thrust foot trolling motor?? & what do you recommend for the 80 thrust on the back of my boat ?? I fish alot of electric only reservoirs
I'm not sure on the 80 yet, I'll be doing a test on an 86 here soon, maybe a few weeks, but for the 55 I recommend the 10X5
