Ouch!! You won't make that mistake again. Don't know if you've already bought a new charger but if not look into one by the AA, I got one reasonably cheap on eBay and I'm sure it covers every kind. Haven't used it on the bikes yet as I haven't needed to but it's done an excellent job of maintaing the battery on my late father's car which has sat in the drive for two years. It even has a winter setting to boost charge in freezing conditions as well as a Recover setting for dead batteries. Suitable for both bikes and cars if set accordingly.
@@AndyGSATractor A normal charger won't fubar your battery or bike Andy, the CANbus will just refuse to play and shut down the accessory socket, if that's your charger access point (it's what I use on mine). I have the same Optimate 4 CANbus edition to save arsing about.
Well that's bloody annoying, to be fair I don't think anyone would of known it didn't support lithium batteries. Started first time on the button, lovely stuff mate 🙂
Ouch indeed, that's a pain in the ass mate. Bloody expensive for the original, can't see many people buying that one when that other is a third of the price. I bet you weren't the first, you won't be the last Rob
Yikes. But glad you got a new one sorted. Handy wee button to tell you what the charge is. 👍 what do you do with the old one ? You think you’d get cash back for recycling
Your bike wouldn't start & that's the dealer/supplier who sold you its problem surely...Is the story i would have tried my hardest to unravel mate! 😉 Honda in Glasgow wanted £250 for a new battery for my CB500F & i wasn't offered any alternative! 😮 I did instantly phone MCS Kilmarnock, who offered me the same £250 battery that Honda had offered me, but they also offered my a half price alternative which i took! 😉👍
Oof, that hurt! Ridiculous OEM prices though. Glad you found summit more reasonable.
Thank god 🙏
You Saving almost 400$ good job. 👍

Too right nige but thank god for aftermarket parts 😂
Where do you find Shido Lithium Battery? How much in US Dollars
I got mine from the dealer but it was about $200
Thanks for the heads up I would have used the 12quid aldi one I've used on previous bikes.
Expensive lesson 🙄
It’s the 4,5AH okay for the African ? Because the old battery habe 6 ah ..
Yes i had no issues with it.

Doubt it but why is it so expensive when something 1/4 the price does the same job.. 😳😳

You know i would have contested it and tried but i was 2 days away from the weekender and needed a battery quick. All good now.
I told you.... 'fancy pants bike' with a 'fancy pants battery' 🤣 apparently needs a 'fancy pants charger' Glad you fixed it but that sucks.
😂😂😂 Yes a costly lesson but thank god for aftermarket parts. 🙏
I really like Honda bikes, but why on earth are the spare parts so horribly expensive?
Great business model 👍
Hat die Shido immer noch genügend Power zum starten ??? Bist immer noch von Shido zufrieden?
Ja, es ist stark genug und es gibt keine Probleme
@@Lochwood92 THANK U BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you mind giving some feedback about the Shido battery?
Just as good as the original bud.
By any chance you recall the Shido Model No?
In the description buddy. Sorry I can't copy and paste it for you at the moment.
How is the voltage stability with that battery?
14.4 but it seems to fluctuate really quickly dropping average 10 times a minute. Don't know if that's normal.
What is the size of our battery?
110mm width 110mm High 68mm deep
That's a bit of a bastard mate you would think they would ut a warning on the battery ta tell ya .👍
Yeh there should be a different type of optimate connection for lithium so you don't make that mistake.
