Thanks for posting this video. It really isn't that bad of a job. Bikes with this much plastics and fairing seem daunting until you can see someone take it apart. I really appreciate it.
Great video! I found it really helpful. But there aren’t any videos regarding valve adjustment on the AT. Can you do a video on that? That would be awesome. Thanks!
Thank you the tutorial. Now i appreciate more my AT than my vstrom650xt..😅.the Vstrom need to remove the casing and tank before you can reach the ail filter.
Great video. I had no idea THAT is how you remove a push rivet >,< Here I am just prying them out like a barbarian during my 12V socket installation - not being an idiot would have made that task 3x easier!
Please tell me what to hold the power supply cable of the GPS also need to remove the fairing. And can I connect it directly to the battery. I have Adventure sport. Thank you.
Can this be done without removing the Honda light/crash bars ? Also since required some work to get to the filters it would be nice to have a air filter restriction gauge, similar to what's on my diesel truck. When I have do the filters on my 22 AT I'm going put a fitting on the back side of the air box
It depends on the filter you plan on using. The OEM filter doesn't require oil while something like a K&N would. Read the instructions in your owners manual or on the replacement filter you plan on using.
Went to dealer to buy one. After seeing what a pain it is and how so many others bikes are easier, quicker, and you don't have to worry about tearing the fairing clips I decided life is too short. Got a yamaha.
I found that adding some vaseline to the grommet tabs helped a lot the next time i removed the fairing. The first time you remove them it feels like you are going to break it, just keep pressure on try to get your fingers behind it. And go slow.
How many miles did you actually have on the bike? Just curious because the filter looked moderately dirty, but not terrible. Wondering how long it can be pushed since it is a bit of a chore and Honda does recommend a very long interval of 12k miles.
I keep hearing people complain about the airfilter being "at a stupid location" so I had to check it out. THIS is what they're complaining about?! few screws and clips, fairing off and it's right there with few more screws! such an easy 5 minute job.
No way I'm doing that ever 10000 miles. I might do it at 20,000. Then again I would just run the bike till I notice a power loss due to low intake pressure. Come on Honda, make a bike which takes 5 minutes to change an air filter.
Just curious, What is it that you like better about the Super Tenere? I traded a 2012 Super Tenere in on my Africa Twin Adventure Sport and don’t regret it. The Super Tenere was a great bike and I never had an issue with it. However, the AT motor is so much smother and has better low end torque. The ST was probably faster on top end but I don’t usually run that fast. I don’t think you can go wrong with either bike as they both are excellent machines for the price. I will say the only thing I have noticed on my ATAS is the cross winds really effect it on a windy day if you are on the highway. Cheers!
You are correct. You guys with crash bars: you do not have to remove that center plastic panel. Just remove the ONE plastic rivet that holds on the faring you are trying to remove. 4 plastic rivets total per side. You can carefully remove the faring with he crash bars still in place. I just did it. Both sides total 30 minute job.
Terrible design by Honda. There are worse, but I expected better from Honda. I broke one fairing tab right under the headlight, cos it doesn't come straight out like the others, but rather has to go a little sideways first. Total PITA when it does not need to be. Nice video though. Thanks.

We are cyborgs! Watching a pro do it as we stand at the bike... Priceless
Great video! I found it really helpful. But there aren’t any videos regarding valve adjustment on the AT. Can you do a video on that? That would be awesome. Thanks!
Your instructional videos are excellent. Easy to follow with the sound muted as well.
Best video with clear and practical description.. Thanks!
Straight to the point and no BS. Perfect!
Nice. Can you make a tutorial how to change spurk plugs?
Thank you the tutorial. Now i appreciate more my AT than my vstrom650xt..😅.the Vstrom need to remove the casing and tank before you can reach the ail filter.
thanks for the help. but you couldn’t show how to replace the air filter on Africa Twin Adventure Sport. Or is it the same. Thanks in advance.
Seeems like the spoiler is kind of a PITA sometimes, tips or tip for easy replacement?
Rocky Mountain SUPER and Thanks Dustin 👍
I bought a 2017 africa twin last year that had 1400 miles. im at 6700. should I switch em out now due to their age or should i wait till 8k miles? TIA
Great video! Right on the money!
Thanks man. Given me the confidence to do mine 👍
Geeat infos! Thank you!

Thanks so much - Turns out that it is not as a big deal as everyone makes out 😉
damn thats a high air intake, great for river crossings
Great video , super easy to understand.
Thanks, very concise and helpful!!

Continued, to monitor the air restriction.
Lovely vid. Plain and simple! I feel confident to go ahead with mine now. One question - did you use a JIS cross head screwdriver?
Great instruction. Thanks
Thanks, I just bought an AT and didn't even know where the filters were, do you oil the filter?
It depends on the filter you plan on using. The OEM filter doesn't require oil while something like a K&N would. Read the instructions in your owners manual or on the replacement filter you plan on using.
Great informative vid. Still way easier than a KTM 1090.

How to change the tire tubes!
Who’s going to develop a new fairing that makes filter changes easier then removing crash bars and the entire fairing?
Thank your video, i Just change The hiflo filter in my AT. Im from São Sebastião-SP/Brasil.
Hallelujah! I don't need to remove the tank in order to complete basic maintenance!!
super helpful. Thanks!!!
Thanks... also handy to know when installing gps cables.

Yeesh. Great vid, but you skipped over the hardest part -- getting the front spoiler in straight!
Can you do spark plugs?
i'm also interested
Great video
good jobs jessy big up bro
Love the Honda but as its takes 5 min to remove a F850 filter I will stick with the BM.Thanks.
nice job
Muy buen video.facil y sencillo👍
Do this on the desert
Thanks!
Thanx for this great video. This helped a lot!
Greetings from germany

You forgot to do it on a bike with crash bars only 10 more steps.

I'm getting power loss @ 18k miles commuting including rain. 2 years isnt too bad. I would wait again the next time.
Mine have been in 24k miles and it runs perfectly

Honda really makes it easy don't they? 😳
way easier compared to replacing tracer 900 air filter where you gonna have to remove almost everything including the gas tank. tsk tsk..
changing air filter for AF takes much time for an ADV bike. much be better if Honda changes it.
I should have kept my super tenere

I would think you don't need to remove front spoiler under the headlamp, just unpin it.

Nice video though. Thanks.
For a bike meant to be ridden in serious off-road, dusty conditions, this design is not great.
Dam, too much work.
That cover does not come off that easy BULLSHIT! lol at least mine wont
Not buying an africa twin anyway, such bullshit to change an air filter. great vid though, thanks.
Wow what a bad design
You think that's bad, you should check out the KTM adventure 1090
@@TheAstraeuss yup... complete tank removal...
Vstrom also tank remove
Why are your ears in your cap?
that is just rediculous
Нудятина
Terrible design all that just to change the air filter
