Stay safe out there! And I’m loving these videos of Gucci GTR upgrades, I’m looking at doing a similar setup for mine so it’s nice to see these parts being unboxed. Keep it up!
Love these vids! 🙏🏽 stay safe out there. Can’t wait to see the install and your reaction to the power difference. I’m doing pads rotors and brake lines during quarantine and then Next is a link ecu as well! Reliability is my goal too
Thanks, I doing what I can to keep myself safe. I am going to get the turbos port matched to the manifolds. Once done I will install and post the video!
@@JDMRightHandDrive .I want to ask, people say the stock turbo rb26 is quite a bit not good, so I intend to replace it. but I don't know what makes the standard turbo rb26 engine less good. could it be because the turbine is made of ceramic? and if i install the turbo version of nismo r1 as in the video, is it plug n play on the standard header? and how to set the boost?I'm also targeting 450 whp like yours. Sorry if my question is too many, because I'm a bit confused
@@mr.eervianlesmana9263 You are correct about the stock turbo having a ceramic exhaust turbine, which can break off when you turn up the boost. The advantage of the ceramic exhaust turbine is that it is light weight spool of quickly. I would actually choose a different turbo than the R1 nismo turbos. I bought DR500 turbos out of Canada from spectrum motorsports. These have billet compressor wheels and newer technology out perform the R1 turbos. My car was making 405tq at 3800 rpm at 24psi of boost. Made 450 whp from 5000 to 8000 rpm
Yes, agree with you there with the BNR32 platform GTR. But, I believe the HNR32 non turbo base model headlights are the same as the N1 because they are reflector and not projectors.
Great parts selection. I would heavily recommend doing head studs and head gasket all at the same time though. That way you could put the oil restrictor in at the same time. Walbro fuel pump will be good and Bosch injectors.
I have never replaced a head gasket or studs before, but I am sure I can figure it out. I will do some research. Thanks for the tips in the fuel pump and injectors!
definitely port match the manifold to the inlet on the turbo, taper the turbine housing as you can take that off and machine it. don't bother with the sard injectors they aren't as good as the drop in bosch 1000cc injectors. with regards to the fuel pump you'll need to rip out the fuel pump power wiring and insert a proper 30amp relay and power it directly off the battery, if you can replace the bulk head on the fuel tank with a frenchy's performance garage item then you can ditch the factory power connectors which restrict current flow (learnt that from experience)
Thanks I appreciate that. I hope to stay safe at work. I hope this build goes good. I am sure Nissan's Omari Factory knows what they are doing in Japan. This should give the community some good data on what the R1 turbos can do!
I have the same turbo's I believe. Ball bearing HKS GTSS kit with the -9 turbos? I also haven't installed it since its such a pain to do! I'm also needing to upgrade my fuel system and ECU, so I guess this will be a much future install for me. Can't wait to see you install this, both for how much of a pain it is to do, and the power/spool difference!
They are simular size, the GT2860-7 is a Nissan N1 turbo. The R1 compressor and turbine size and trim is different and they flow slightly more according to the information provide by Nismo Omari Factory in Japan.
I will be running the Link G4+ also, highly recommend Deatschwerks 1000cc injectors. I believe I bought mine at THMotorsports.com, any tune specs you can show will be appreciated as not many tuners for Link here where I am and very expensive rates to tune. Thanks, Thumbs up.
i have these turbos just installed with a fresh v-cam build. they are not that exciting to be honest. they are very old school specs. 20psi is all these turbos can push, anything higher the boost fall off sharply high end. they made about 420whp at 20psi. expect 20psi at around 5000 rpm. with v-cam i'm able to make 20psi at 4000 rpm. nothing to be excited about.
Nope, I review several customers cars dyno charts at UP Garage who had Nismo R1 turbos. The charts were very disappointing. Lots of lag and not much high end power. I sold these on ebay and bought different turbos! Going with DR500 turbos from Spectrum Motorsports in Canada. They come on boost just like stock ceramic turbos but make 450 wheel at 20psi. Turbos are based on a rebuilt and updated OEM R34 GTR turbine.
@@JDMRightHandDrive nice, can't wait to see how it turns out. I just ordered a couple of Garrett GT2860R for mine. Read up on it and theyre supposed to be really good and direct swap.

Thanks, I will keep sharing my unboxing video of new parts. I spent all my money, so It may be a while for new parts.

Actually I am interested in the TOMEI M8260 Twin Turbo Kit. Is that good? And worth it for the money spent?
The non-projector N1 headlights are actually an upgrade. The headlights with projectors were the base option.

Build plan looks awesome dude! Will be a great street weapon!
Thanks, I am pretty excited to get it finished.

Thanks for the tips on that. I will definitely contact a machine shop to get the port matching done. I will check out some Bosch Injectors!
Oh nice choice. I was thinking of those.

🤩🤩🤩
Bring on the boost!!!!
I am pretty sure these are the same turbos as the garrett gt2860-7, they just cost more for the nismo tax.

Maybe they are the GT2860-9
Those are nice, but damn they are so expensive... This is why I'm going single turbo.
Price is not to bad if you order directly from Japan! Under $2500
How much did the turbo kit cost?
I got it on sale for $2450 including shipping at the time i bought it.
JDM Right Hand Drive right on boss! I’m saving for these turbos now cause that ceramic wheel is a no no lol
