Hi Tripta, thanks for your note. Very pleased you are feeling better. So nice to see your condition is being helped. This understanding will stay with you to though thick and thin. Listen to your body. ❤️❤️❤️
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga I bless you every day . I have been doing yoga supposedly since many years now but it is only through you that I understood the asanas in depth . I have introduced it to my teenage daughter now . Thanks for spreading your knowledge . 💐
Anissa, your body is younger! When we take the time we detox the body of the old dead cells to make way for rejuvenation, via oxygen in the cells. Moving forward versus being stagnant. Your body is happier and healthier. 😊😊❤️❤️
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga you are so right! That's why I started yoga 40 years ago and why I'm not going to give up ! I'm 72 now...and always enjoy practicing specially twisting asana. Thank you so much. Namastè 🙏
Curious - when did the cat/cow movements (at beginning of video) become part of Iyengar yoga sequences? When I was practicing regularly (1990-2010) it was not done and even considered a definite no-no.
Hi Eric, If you ever meet Guriji, BKS Iyengar, you would know he was always discovering new ways to address areas within the body and the mind. We are asked to be curious and discover. Such a beautiful way to evolve. All my best, Kathy
Thank you so much for this tutorial video, it has helped me to correct some flaws in my yoga technique. Just a interesting remark, you use tip "compact your hips, bring sides of hips closer together" in forward fold and in trunk twist? What it does, compacting of hips? It provides the lenghtening of torso, I guess? Necessary for these deep stretch positions? Thanks
Hi Robert, great question! Sometimes our language needs explanation to get the full impact and reasoning for the action. In forward folding, whether seated or standing Rolling the thighs in, bringing firmness to the outer thighs while broadening the lower back enables one to access depth in the front groin, space in the back groin and stability in the hips. As you activate the outer thighs you are able to make space for the trunk to elongate. Same for twisting, that stability of the hips provides a fulcrum to extend. Moving the buttocks away from lower back while broadening the low back is helps by that rolling in and compact action. Hope you could understand and can apply in your practice. Always one step at a time, we are continually learning with each practice. Happy practicing! 🙏🏻
Hi Bhakti, try some of the other beginner classes amongst my posted videos. Also the foundational course would be good to start with to guide you sequentially. All my best. ♥️🙏🏻
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga Thank you so much for your answer Kathy! I love your videos! I’m just a little bit exhausted, that after a big surgery I lost so much flexibility and ability. I’ll definitely start again with your beautiful beginners videos! Lots of love to you! Sabina from Munich. ♥️♥️♥️
I suffered from L5 S1 disc bulge issues 3 years ago and I am having a bit of cervical pain also. Can I do this? What sort of yoga sequence do u recommend?
Hi Swati, please look to my classes for low back and also neck and shoulders for these types of issues. Go slow and observe how the body reacts, good or bad. The body will tell you but also these classes are focused for your imbalance in neck and low back. Let me know. 🙏🏻
Hi Yasmina, over the years I have had but through my yoga practice have been able to strengthen my weaker areas bringing more balance, so seldom. My practice is what keeps me healthy. What sorts of pain are you having and what is your condition? 🙏🏻
@@DesaYogiIyengarYoga both chronic lower and back pain, for the past 20 years. No physiotherapy rid of it and whatever I do inflames me more than helps me. I know a little yoga ,practice a little, I cant see where it could help nor why. I only experience a feel good factor ,more energy, but my spine hurts, so are my lumbar joints ,it bars me from dancing for 8nstance.its because I wanted to dance again that I took up yoga.
