- This is my honest review of Bill Von Fumetti's course Booming Bookkeeping Business. I talked with Bill and he gave me access to his whole course. It goes through accounting fundamentals, how to use QuickBooks (and become a QBO ProAdvisor), how to set-up your bookkeeping business and market and onboard new clients. I think this is a solid course at a fair price point for anyone looking to become a bookkeeper. The cost of the program today is $4997, so this is a massive price increase from merely a year ago when you quote $2000.

Sounds like a SCAM
Saw an ad for it, had a selling hook for $47. Knew it was too good to be true. Was most likely a portion of the product to reel you into buying "more" for thousands of dollars

It’s all very introductory, but he does get to you a place of understanding the very basics of starting a bookkeeping business and what it takes to be a bookkeeper. I had zero knowledge before and now I know the basics. The $5997 program is about getting you to mastering Quickbooks and mastering starting and growing your bookkeeping business and mastering obtaining clients.
@@KoiandDragon I'm doing the $47 week challenge and I read the book before it started, he's basicly spreading what was in the book over 4 days. We'll see if tomorrow anything of value is actually discussed.
Morgan, I just wanted to let you know I finally got my first client. It's a local preschool and I am converting their QB Desktop Pro to QBO and then I'll do setup and training with the owner. Then I was contacted by a local non-profit to do their credit card entries into QB enterprise. I have taken the BBB course. Bill is Great! The course handles all the aspects of setting up and running a bookkeeping business. The Wednesday calls are great, and he stores the calls for people who missed the call. The marketing section is great.
I started Booming Bookkeeping about a month ago. I am really loving it! I seriously like the way Bill explains everything and all the marketing knowledge he shares. Ok thank you for this video. This is well needed on my research because I'm interested I'm currently in the life insurance industry and would like to add this to my belt.
Bookkeeping is something that directly affects the customer positively or negatively. My question is one that many people fail to foresee until that dreadful moment and that is accountability. How do we fix or deal with these issues should they arise and they will? So knowing how to deal with a customer so that you end up pleasing them and not paying for it. These things can go to court and are just as important as learning Quickbooks or data entry.

I just completed the course. It’s no longer free, but reasonable ($45). There’s a 2nd layer - a Q&A session. It’s $47 (?) to listen and $179 (this may not be right - but it’s close).
I opted to listen to the Q&A only and I’m glad I did. Many people had exactly the same questions and hadn’t listened in class OR the other times it had been asked.
The class had good information BUT many of the early promises would only be delivered if you signed up for the mentorship program. It’s now $5999 or $7499 if you want to break it up into two easy payments.
Too rich for me!
Was the class worthwhile? Definitely! He sends you a free copy of his book, but I had downloaded the Kindle version for free.
Hi, thank you. I just found out about the $47 week long class (approximately 8hours long?) plus a few extras. He says “everything you need for your book keeping business”. I assume you did the same course that I am seeing. Do you feel you can have a bookkeeping business as a result of this course, or that technically, with the q&a, that it could happen, perhaps with continued review of your materials, without the added 6k or 7k addition?
@@KatJaguar1122 That’s what I’m doing. It’s probably faster/easier if you pay for the mentorship but it just wasn’t possible for me.
I’m studying for the QBO certification exams because it seems to be the cheapest/easiest marketing plan (I’m a major introvert).

Okay. I see the QBO certification is free. So in saying that that seems to be the cheapest/easiest marketing plan, you mean that you would present that certification to potential clients as your marketing?
Also, what I’m seeing is that the 5 day course is next week, however I am wondering how often he does these as next week is not the best time frame for me. Do you know how often these run?

Some say it takes 2 to 3 months to learn bookkeeping for business with QBO. Are you finding that to be the case? I see this kind lady doing this channel has info on a DIY method of learning, as well as a short course.

Great video and insight, thank you. I don't understand when quickbook is advertising how easy it is to do bookkeeping as a small busines owner yourself, why having than a book keeper?
I looked into booming bookkeeping for a while and considering it. I live in CA close to his practice. Only reason that I didn’t take the course is he put address that he doesn’t use for marketing. I’m not sure if he still have practice there or not but to me, it looks like nobody’s there in the office. So I decide not to take his. Thanks for the review. You’re amazing!

Dumb question but when it comes taxes for a freelance web designer and just taxes in general, whenever they're due, it means the taxes for the previous year right?
So the income I earn this year I'd pay taxes for them in 2023?
Also I'm 21, just started working for myself, my parents always handled my taxes since I worked normal jobs back then

My only question I guess is if there are people who do this that aren't already wealthy and/or RUclipsrs before beginning lol. Also, PennFoster, an online college, has bookkeeping courses for less than $900. Also at your own pace, and with a free year of QuickBooks access upon completion.

Looks like a solid course and I honestly figured it would be priced at $2,997. I was wanted to start a business that I could run with my son or bring on someone else to outsource some of the day-to-day work. I’d mostly run marketing and close clients. Is there info like this in the course or anyone in the program doing this?

Hey! Morgan personally LOVES Bookkeeper Launch (sk293.isrefer.com/go/BLFAQ/ML82/) and really hasn't heard of anyone who has been disappointed by the program. They have amazing customer service, they start at the very beginning (for someone who has no experience) and they give you lots of help along the way (group to ask questions, email helpline, calls). The program is quite thorough, so Morgan says make sure you have time to go through all the material. Let us know if you have any questions about the program. Both Bookkeeper Launch and Booming Bookkeeping Business are high quality programs that will successfully train you to be a bookkeeper (if you do as they teach). They cover accounting concepts, QBO, marketing, setting up your business (license, website, etc), and have some kind of community where you can ask questions.
Bookkeeper Launch pros: This program is more robust, has a big network, better known, and a strength is individual email help. I find Ben to be more wordy (I don’t like) & detailed and I like the visuals better in this program. (Sign up here: sk293.isrefer.com/go/BLFS/ML82/)
Booming Bookkeeping pros: This program is cheaper with a focus on marketing (both huge pros!). There is also more personal interaction with Bill (pro/con). I find Bill to be more concise, but I don’t enjoy the visuals as much. (They are currently doing a website redesign, so I don't have the sign up link, please reach out if you are interested in this when they go live!)

Would course be good for person with an accounting degree. Who just need to know how to set up the back office operation? Maybe the marketing plan? It sound like your going to school all over again.
Hmm, I would say yes, depending on what your needs are. I find people with book knowledge sometimes still need the practical advice for being a contract bookkeeper/accountant. Check out the "table of contents" that I showed in the video to see if those things interest you. You can absolutely do it without a long class (I did!). Let me know what you decide!
Dwayne - I have a BS in Accounting but wanted to branch out and open my own bookkeeping business. I researched several programs and decided to go with Booming Bookkeeping. The course is designed to teach people with no knowledge of bookkeeping/accounting to be competent in everyday bookkeeping entries. Once you start the course, you can pick and choose which modules you want to watch. I was mostly interested in the pricing calculator and marketing information but watched all the modules over time to see if I missed anything that could be useful. I started in June of this year and currently have three clients using his techniques. I have also recently made a connection with an Accountant that needs help and wants to subcontract 20 - 30 clients to me. I am starting that soon. Overall, I am happy with the program.

Bookkeeper Launch is VERY thorough and starts at the beginning to teach you all about bookkeeping, debits/credits, accounting rules, etc. They give you a QBO subscription to practice on & hands-on experience. They have a very active, helpful community--along with email support for when you run into issues. It will go over how to start a bookkeeping business, but you can just skip that part.

You don't need this expensive course to learn bookkeeping. Take it from a school or online learning platform. I'm a former bookkeeper

I was never given the option to make monthly payments. I had to pay a lump sum which I honestly regret since right after I made the commitment my husband and I both lost our jobs.

In 2009 I was laid off from a great job. I was unemployed for 2 years. So much had happened during that time. I got a divorce, my father died and I became a single parent. I bought a cleaning franchise and I was in business for 10 and a half years. Now, I want to start my income tax business along with bookkeeping. I was a bookkeeper for 12 years. This guy who's doing this course learned on his own. Yes, you have already invested. Make it work for you. Please do not give up. You can learn also. If you're a praying person,please pray for direction and energy to push forward.

I am military and supposed to deploy in a year for about 8 months. Do you think its worth starting now while i have a full year or do you think i wont be able to maintain this business while deployed? Btw while deployed i will only have access to the app once a month.

Hey , i am from india , can I start bookkeeping business. I am not from accounting background but does have a little bit knowledge about debits and credits. I recently came across ur channel, and ur videos helped me lot about getting started. I have a question, dose QuickBooks works in INDIA, I want get certified but I couldn't able to sign up cause it's asking a phone number of UK or USA to sign up.

I'm not 100% sure which countries are on the list, but that could likely be the issue when you're trying to sign up. The only course available is the $6000 course. I would love to take the $2000 course with just the videos. I did just msg this woman back asking about this cheaper option. Waiting for a response.

What kind of experience is needed to succeed in this business? This is someone coming from working in manufacturing.

I think I get what you’re asking. The payment plan breaks up the payments over twelve months, but the actual time it takes to complete the program is only a few months.

I wil be honest. The people who probably need to learn a new skill that pays decently the most, are those who already are struggling. And cannot afford to go to college. And these people are the ones who may be priced out. The ones who can afford it will be fine. Im sorry though, that some people won't be able to. They will need to find another way. Unless someone can come up with that money. I will say he isn't a scam, he does respond to people. It's just really expensive.

I read the book, but haven't looked at the free videos Mr. Von Fumetti provides. I expected that in the long run he would have a charge for some training, but just about choked at the $6,000 price tag. What you're saying in this video is not what he leads you to believe in his book...
Not sure if this an honest ad from Bill. for $47 dollars, normally $1997. He is advertising a 5 day class. Could you learn bookkeeping in 5 days only 90 minutes per day? Or is this a paid ad to take his more expensive course?
