    • @RACKDOCTOR
      @RACKDOCTOR  Год назад +1

      @@jmp-es1gv There isn't. The Shin Clean Boost is it"s own sound. A Colorsound Power Boost is similar to the XTS. Xotic EP Boost is pretty good.

      David, are you using any kind of buffer before the shin?

      @@walrus0626 No. The Shin and Chase Tone preamp are acting like buffers.

    There is not a single bad sound out of any James Tyler's guitars, but the headstock (the graphics of the name on it) is just too much... not good at all.

    • @zenlandzipline
      @zenlandzipline Год назад +2

      Exactly.
      The graphics just bring attention to the headstock, which looks like a foot.
      I hate feet. Lol

      @@zenlandzipline For me, the shape is cool. Just the graphics put me off a little. Even so, I would love to have 1 or 3 of those, but the price do not help.

      I love it; best guitars I’ve ever owned. Different strokes for different folks, but if you haven’t played one try and take one for a spin sometime. Will flip your whole universe

      @@StoneDriverBand I’ve heard nothing but great things about those guitars. What is it that they do that makes them so special? Asking seriously here. I mean, it’s basically a strat. I’m sure they use great wood and I’m sure the craftsmanship is really good, but, how much different can it really be to a Custom Shop Stratocaster, or other top of the line strat-style guitars, such as Tom Anderson or Suhr or others?
      I’m not at all doubting the quality of the Tyler. I’ve just never been able to play one to see and hear what the raving is all about. Could you elaborate a little? Genuinely curious.
      Also: if I bought one, and took a saw to that horrible shaped headstock, would that screw up the tone or playability of the guitar?
      Because I could easily reshape that headstock into something that doesn’t give me nightmares and scare my dog away. Lol

    • @StoneDriverBand
      @StoneDriverBand Год назад +1

      @@zenlandzipline I’m sorry you have nightmares and a scared dog, it might not be the right guitar for you!
      That said, Tyler’s have a lot of differences that set them apart from CS Strats and Suhr’s, at least the ones that I’ve owned and sold. The first thing that will jump out at you is the neck; the “standard 59” shape is their standard, and the most comfortable neck you will ever play. The thickness, radius, rolled edges, fretwork, etc are unlike anything I’ve ever played; feels like a well worn in vintage guitar but with perfect playability and action.
      The neck mounting system is a original design, and keeps the neck locked in place and the guitar in tune better than traditional systems. It also helps with the resonance of the guitar, even strumming it before you plug in generates a gorgeous acoustic tone unlike anything you’d hear from a traditional strat build.
      The Studio Elite models have additional relief cuts that make the guitar more comfortable to play, and higher frets easier to access.
      I could go on and on, but you really need to play one. They are definitely strats at heart, but like a strat all grown up and pushed to the maximum of how it can perform and play due to the innovation and craftsmanship consistently built in to each guitar that leaves the shop. Best of luck!
