Congratulations brother. Just discovered this vehicle and absolutely fell in love with it. This car is my bucket list car. Currently working on a 66 mustang but damn the GT500 is a masterpiece. Ive heard people speak ill of them and think, nah you have no clue or appreciation of what it took to get to this point. God bless
been searching for a "golden ticket" GT500 for over a ear - wanted the carbonized grey with hand painted stripes, track pack and technology -- finally found a 2022 with 10.6 miles on it in the exact spec I wanted -- pulled the trigger yesterday -- having it shipped and should be here in a few days. thanks for the video. congrats on yours.

cftp will make and teach any driver to be a awesome driver at the track. they can run faster than or within a second of cars like Ferrari f8 tributo Lamborghini huracan evo and porsche gt3rs while having the better brakes. The fact its a fraction of the money of all of them cars and completely max option c8 z06 is right arounf them times but costs 185k before markup. plus gt500 starts to pull away from c8 z06 around 100mph in a roll race. Knowing track pack and especially painted stripe track packs will pull so much money now and in the future this will be what ppl are paying huge money for. Only thing Sadly i would have to pull the carbon wheels to keep from a pot hole damaging them or curbs or rocks lol. Anyway great buy cant be upset over the knob put it in gear because its all paddles from there and its honestly better than things like porsches mini nub switch/shifter on the dash thats been there since the 918 spyder. This is an Amazing car and knowing 10 to 15k of exhaust ported blower pulley swap and e85 tune and tires you have car that can run mid to low 9s and still be a track car that breaks records against fully built top spec scca track cars and that becomes mind blowing that big ol gt500 does that because idk if you have ever seen some of these track only scca cars race cars gutted with custom engines and basically tube chassis custom suspension qnd gt500s came in to the game hurted modded cars feelings
Honestly, I'm a little surprised I don't see more GTs with GT500 exterior additions for people chasing the look that can't afford or don't want to pay the $100k price tag. That's the boat I'm in. Automatic GT is plenty, but the GT500 sure looks nice.
I believe the word you are looking for is "refined" when describing the competition.
The Shelby, on the other hand, still invokes that _raw_ sensory perception. Although, there is something to be said about the aroma of Porsche interiors. They smell so unique compared to Ferrari's, Lambo's, Alfa's, etc.
As you mature, you tend to steer away from the more visceral high performance cars in exchange for something classier. The competition still offers the same general performance (if not better) as the Shelby GT500. Albeit, with a little more _refined_ approach.
Although, I do concur. The gear selector being a rotary dial looks entirely out of place in the Shelby GT500. There was so much potential for something unique as you would expect in this top of the line model. It's obvious Ford paid more attention to the motor, chassis and drivetrain over the interior. Something that has plagued Mustang's since the 90s if I may say so. Don't even get me started on this new S650 generation. Talk about a tremendous fail!
Nevertheless, it was the interior that put us off the GT500 in the end. That is why we chose the C8 Z51 Stingray as our new daily driver.

These cars have such amazing style like no other. There is no bad angle when looking at these beasts. I heard from 3 employees at Ford and a few car collectors. That these car will be going way up in value in the next year or two. I have bought 3 GT500's in the past 2 years my last purchase was a 2020 Grabber lime car with only 600 miles on it. The highest horsepower mustang ever produced with the amazing transmission to back it up. Grab one now while you still can!
I dont think they will appreciate in value for a minimum of 10+ years...

@@800horsegarage8 like any investment - which I don’t think these are, what you pay for it will determine your rate of return (or loss) - I paid $10k over and am fine with that…track pack with hand painted stripes hard to find at MSRP…but I just don’t see these as collectible for many years…and will likely dip in price before ever appreciating.
It's only the highest horsepower until they come out with a new one.

Ben... Ben Ben Ben, bashing on the 911? O.o I own a 991.1 GT3 and i promise you, that's not a luxury supercar lol, it's a street legal rear wheel race car that revs to 9000 and sounds like a monster from 6 to 9k. It's also very hard to imagine that any double clutch is better than Porsche's PDK..

Those things are for sale everywhere, people are turning them in, definitely not hard to get. I'm waiting for prices to lower further, and they will. Seen a black one like that for 89k 400miles on it. Depends on where it is and who is trying to sell them cars.

If it was a stick shift, even though the auto is probably faster? Anyone can drive that beast. What fun is a track pack with an auto, not the same? I'd buy a manual ZL1, with the track pack, before that?

In 1967 a new Mustang GT500 Super Snake was $8000. That’s $72,000 today. So, that car is $28,000 overpriced. The really crazy thing is that in 1967, you could have bought a nice older home for $8000. But today, I don’t know anywhere you can buy a nice older home for $72,000. The bankers have really devalued the dollar.
This or a mid engine Vette with wide-body kit (Grand-Sport) which is coming soon and close to the same price.
Does yours do a jerky downshift into 2nd gear? We pull the paddles to neutral to avoid it but its probably my only complaint about the transmission. Love it!
Yes. Mine does that. Very common. I just hold the paddles to put it into neutral as well if I'm stopping at a light. It only happens if you slow down slowly. If you slow down quickly, it's much less pronounced.
@@MikesArcadeMonitorRepair Yea it's just on the slower/gradual stops. Harder braking is a much crisper downshift and have had no issues on first track session.
Yup. I had the same question when I got mine and thought something was wrong but learned quickly it was common.
Mine does the same thing. I absolutely love this car and will never sell.
Drop it , track suspension, H pipe and the gt 500 is a jet fighter. I drive mine like a teenager. What a amazing car.... Ford just replaced the tranny under warranty

759 hp, suspension to get that power to the wheels, and brakes to slow it down cost lots of money. With slicks, this vehicle will do quarter mile sub 11 seconds.

It sure can get the power to the wheels. What it can't do, is get the power to the road, the physics are just against it, like with all Mustangs.
Also, in case you missed it, this isn't a car for DB drag racers. It would be monumentally stupid to waste a car like this on a strip, as it can do everything.

It's a great car for sure, but i can think of so many better cars to spend $100,000 on.
what for 100k is gonna get you around a track 5 secs faster than a 95k top option stingray and within a sec or faster than cars like Ferrari f8 tributo Lamborghini huracan evo and porsche gt3rs and all of those are all within a sec of 185k top c8z06 and then at 100+ mph in rolling race a 75k base base gt500 will start to pull away from the highest option 185k c8 z06. Only thing with the gt500 its getting old and next gen s650 needed hybrid electric front v8 rear power. But even then the fact a 100k which can be had for about 90k or base bor in the 70s the fact any mustang can be compared with any vette especially a midengine vette or supercar is crazy. Hellcats couldnt take a turn if your life depends on it. and cant get traction so they lose to a mustang gt. I dont think ppl dont understand. A Lamborghini Gallardo or Ferrari 458 get beat by a s550 mustang gt . Then get to their predecessors huracan then huracan evo and Ferrari 488 Ferrari f8 tributo and a mustang like this for 1/3 to 1/4 the price
Name them in $85,000-105,000 price range. No Chevy fan boys. And the Z06 Vette is closer to $200,000+.
ZL1-1LE's are able to match, and in some cases even, edge out a GT500 around most tracks. For much less coin too.

No thanks, over priced, too much plastic. For that price point, I bought the 2023 Lexus LC 500, with a naturally aspirated V8. More dependable, and luxurious interior.
