- Well, my 2022 Shelby GT500 allocation never came through so I decided to impulsively buy this 2021 Shelby GT500 in Oxford White with Kona Blue painted stripes and carbon fiber track pack instead. It's been a couple days and I have to say, I have zero regrets. Can't wait to get more content with this thing on the channel

Congratulations. I got my 21 a year ago and just hit 700 miles. I know people go through the roof when I say that but sometimes it's not about putting a ton of miles on a car. I love owning it and taking the kids back and forth to school/lessons in it. I'm sure one of these days I'll take it down to the Dragon or a Mountain cruise. You've got a great collection! you're smart i have 2 high performance vehicles of a different brand but treat them the same way as you. i have a fully loaded 07 6.1l suv with currently 59.1k miles and i have a fully loaded 17 6.2l charger sedan that i bought in 2019 for my mother that currently has 22k miles. when i bought it nov 2019 it had low 22k miles now it has i believe 22.5k miles. what we have are pretty much trophies and should be treated as such. i'm in the market for a backup beater.

Lol, dude I totally feel how you were feeling when you went to pick it up. When I went to go pick up my 718 Cayman, all I could think is “why am I doing this? Do I really need another car? What is everyone going to think that I bought ANOTHER sports car “. I didn’t tell anyone for the longest time, and kept it tucked away in the garage. I didn’t want to drive to to work thinking people would judge me for making such a rash decision. It’s something non car enthusiasts just don’t get.

I was going to buy a new GT500 myself, but it was over $40K in markup. Love how the car looks and sounds, but no way I'm ever paying paying that much over MSRP.

I just can't get on board with owning a bunch of the same car, or even similar. I have a C6 Corvette, would love to add a Convertible of the same, but it's just so much sameness and repeated expenses, insurance, tires, batteries going dead, oil changes, state inspections, property taxes, got to clean it because I don't have a garage. Best wishes on yours. Love that demonstration of the paddle shift. It must be great to be able to grab onto all the power your car can make so smooth and painlessly and without pre-meditation.

Welcome to the gt500 club. For the longest time id randomly through out the day and even night go into the garage to just stare at this thing in awe and amazement. Yes its a mustang but man the gt500 is a completely different beast. Sooo many thing’s different than a regular mustang. Enjoy

PPF the doors and rear fender as well! I didn’t on the doors and I’m catching knicks on the doors already.
Also make sure they PPF your hood vent since the painted strip exists here. Also the pillars. I’m catching rocks there too.
Im originally from Texas but live in LA rn. Similar to you, I went used and bought a 2020 CFTP GT500. Got 3k under MSRP. Painted stripes, tech. They also gave me 61 on my 17 GT350 that I paid 45 for back in 2020, so I did pretty good.
take the car to the track. Also make sure your rain tray is there and if the oil separator isn’t installed, get it installed! I take mine up with a group of friends to Angeles crest on the weekends. You don’t see these CFTP’s anywhere! They’re all garage kept!

I buy usually new cars and most times have buyer’s remorse! I’m 67 now, but I remember back in my years living at home and purchasing a car and my parents jumping on me too.
I recently spent a total of $104,000 on a loaded 2022 C8 HTC Corvette: Red Mist, Z51, 2LT, GT2 Seats, Mag Ride, Tow Hook, Liner Package, Battery Package, Front Lift. Bought at MSRP $90,115, but had Full PPF & Ceramic Coating, ACS Rock Guards @ $528 and the rest was in taxes and fees.
I questioned myself for a few days, but I really like the car.
So I’m facing this might be my last Corvette, so I might as well enjoy it!!!
I tried also to get a GT 500, but couldn’t get an allocation and I won’t pay over MSRP.
I have a 2009 Mustang GT with 17,000 miles on it and enjoy it too!

The GT500 grew on me quite a bit over the last year after the market really showed how potent the Predator can be and the DCT makes driving it so easy. These cars are disgusting from a roll as well with very very basic mods.
I like that you weren’t super guarded about what you paid an how it worked out.. and didn’t go super into it all.. think it helps others gain confidence they didn’t get ripped off or if they did.. anyways my friend sells fords and he somehow sold a at the time brand new GT500 in the lime green/yellow color and every single option including carbon fiber wheels sold it for $186k.. it probably hasn’t depreciated too much but talk about a premium

Impulse buys are always the best! I’m a Chevy guy and own quite a few Camaro’s and Corvette’s! But, when I was in Tennessee visiting family I made a trip to Reddick Brown Ford “just to look”! Well, now the Chevy guy owns a 2023 Shelby Super Snake Mustang. That’s how easy it can happen. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Little known facts, you cannot test drive any shelby mustangs, furthermore, you cant even sit in one, and if you were ever able to di so, then you got ripped off in the purchase price, those cars are not to even be outside a showroom floor unless it is already SOLD. papaers signed, unless the car is used, then none of this applies. Ive seen people get fired about these cars because of what is agrreed to in the contract between shelby and dealer. Cool video though 😎😎

Back in Summer, 2017, I decided the time had come for me to begin to enjoy having a Mustang again. I was into Mustangs in high school and early college, like a lot of guys back in the late 60s and 3arly 70s. And as wild I was about Mustangs (I had two of them, first a 1969 Coupe with a 250 6 cylinder engine that just refused to die despire the abuse I heaped in it in the hope that if I blew the engine I just night be able to get a v-8m any v-8, installed in it instead. Never happened. What did happen as a 1969 Mach 1 that all but dropped into my lap for a mere $800 in 1971. I had so much fun with that car. First I rebuilt the FMX tranny with all B&M internals and torque converter. Then I built the 351 2v engine into an asphalt shredding stret/strip beast. In 1976 I sold it to make certain I had enough of a cash cusion to survive my exit from the Army in what I had been told was a world with no job prospects. On my first day out I got a job as a technician for a Lincoln- Mercury dealership. I sold that wonderful Mach 1 for no good reason. Grrr...
No matter, because about that time I found out my wife was pregnant, and my life took a very unexpected turn. Life began to "happen" for (or to) me. So after 0ver 23 years of life thus happening I found myself with a successful computer consulting business and both the time and money be able to go out and get myself another 1969 Mustang. But this time, despite how impossible it is to change spark on one, I wanted one with a 428 CobraJet engine. And Air Conditioning, C6, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Candyapple Red, and in great condition.
So the search beganm and I found that these ponies were not on the market long before they got snapped up. I really wanted to do a though inspection of any car I was looking to buy, but by the time I found someone near where the car was to inspect it, the car was gone. Then one day I came across a gorgeous 1969 Shelby GT599 that had everything other the CandyApple Red. Same thing, I was trying to arrange an inspection and it was sold. That happened a few more times. Finally, I found a 69 GT500 in Canada in Candyapple Red and all the options I was after. The seller allowed me time to get someone to fly out to inspect the car. The report came back with all thumbs up, and 200+ photos. We drove to Ottawa, Canada to see it for ourselves and by that afternoon I called my banker and told her to "pull the trigger" on a prearranged wire transfer to the seller at his asking price.
I now owned my dream car, and one might think that would have been enough. But, I haad begun to hear how Ford was going to bring the GT500 back again, with an expected year model of 2019. Wow, would it not be cool to have two GT500 that were 50 years apart?!: So, I called a Ford dealer who was a client of mine, aand asked if he had heard anything about a new GT500. Sure enough, the rumor was 2019 was going to be the year it was back in the market. I told him I wanted to be his first GT500 buyer, and offered to put a deposit on the car right then. Well, he assure dme he would not forget me when the car was released to be sold. Months dragged by, and the 2019 dream was gone. But 2020 wqs looking good. Sure enough, Summer of 2019 I got "the call" to come on down and let;s build you a new GT500. It took five months of waiting, but it finally got delivered to the dealer on 12/31/2019. He wqas closed New Year Day. But we picked it up in the early afternoon of 1/2/2020.
So, unlike the nrrator of this OP, my decision was not made on the fly. It was carefully planned out. And getting the 2020 GT500 took so long that we purchased two 1973 Mustangs along the way. And a vow I made back when I was 17 came true, I eded up with a 1969 GT500. And another comment I made when I was 21 also came true. I said once I retired all I wanted to do was play with and drive my Mustang. Well, here we go boys and girls... Two Shelbys and two Mustangs, all are in incredible condition and a definite hoot to have. For anyone curous to see what I do with so many pony cars, check out my RUclips channel (Gilbert Hale):

As a Corvette guy and have been for over 35 years, I’m opening up the idea to potentially buying a Shelby Cobra 🐍 to join the stable. Currently own a C6 murdered out with some goodies on it and for my 2nd toy I feel I want to broaden my horizons. The Shelby GT350 with the flat plane crank 2019/20 model years is what is catching my eye. Beautiful 500 and enjoy life bro 😎

Mine holds a Corvette, BMW and a Porsche 911…..sooo……I rented a 350R from Hertz, several years ago.
Drove it from the San Francisco airport to Sebastopol……and parked it…..for the rest of the rental period.
Why ?
Well, it was gorgeous…..with the best sounding exhaust, bar none. But the ride was puuuure shit ! Absolutely horrible.
Felt like it had cement in the shocks.

If you ever feel like you have money burning a hole in your pocket, look into the SE widebody package from Shelby. Just had mine finished and painted twister orange after seeing a video on RUclips. Freaking love it.

Since you got the CFTP you did pretty fair on the price.
I paid 99k for a Grabber Yellow GT500 and 103k for a Twister Orange White Stripe GT500 - neither is a CFTP.

I mean, A traditional automatic in a sports car is definitely not something I’m interested in. If I’m going to not get a manual it better be a good dual clutch. Just my opinion
