I just turned on all flight assistance tbh. I'm not here, yet anyway, for the simulation experience. Just to get up there and have a fly around and take in the view was incredible though.

@O F going on it's own house in a game is meta stuff, we can only do It in this game.. unless we live in some place that was somewhat replicated like GTA V's Los Santos.. some few rich people living in those hills might find their houses there.
“I feel like there should be more commercial planes” most simmers won’t bother with default aircraft, they will wait for companies like PMDG, FSLABS to make full study level versions of the aircraft and pay more than the original game to get their hands on. The kind of aircraft you can’t just turn the throttle up and fly, you have to do it by the book kind of thing.
The standard edition is good enough. I was explaining to my brother this exactly, the default planes are good enough for now, but I see no need for additional planes (more expensive editions). The 3rd party ones should be amazing when they start trickling in. Planes with almost completely 'operable' switches, like seat belt, for immersion. :) The future looks promising.
@@christopher5731 You're right about that but since real companies have their planes featured they probably were the ones that didn't want that feature to be included
This is the game that "Flight Simulator" fans dreamed of for the last 20 years. Real world maps and real time data. Its just amazing, whether you are into playing it or not. My favorite thing is when people find all the weird and secret places that are either purposely unmapped or show odd features...... Not sure if ill ever fool with it, but i absolutely appreciate how far the platform has come. We have reached the future in this one respect.

Along the way you saw a flying saucer, a black triangle experimental aircraft, and after landing you get to see an F-22 and SR-71. It feels weird (and good too) that the simulation genre is getting attention at last among the general community. Having always only played games like FSX, DCS, Assetto Corsa, rFactor, Arma, Squad etc, it always felt like living in a tiny quarter in the corner of the house with a small but highly dedicated bunch of folks around. 8:37 1) all of those airports are available. what you are paying for is for those airports to be meticulously hand modeled in the game. If you don't wish to pay for that, you can still go to that airport it just won't look as nice. 2) where did you learn to fly 3) paying for extra aircraft has been a staple of flight sims for years, that being said if you don't want to pay there's always free aircraft released later.

I remember as a child playing Microsoft Flight Simulator X, and I fell in love with it immediately! It's been a long wait but I'm glad to see the advancement and evolution of such a detailed, fun, and historic PC game.
I'd like to say that people who are pilots or going to school to be a pilot (myself included) will learn to love this game. As for me i see myself coming from a practice flight then jumping on this game and continue flying to just get the learning experience. Also the standard copy of the game has ALL the airports in it, the deluxe editions have added airports that were made by developers or content creators. People have been mixing that up.
I'm a game developer and I studied Aviation as well. I'm very happy to see this game happening-- Aeronautical Engineering was a nightmare for me though. The game is very real... and um... flight school, unfortunately, is very expensive. So, game dev for life. Plus being a game dev is much more "Grounded".
I've been ignoring a lot of FS2020 vids / images in the lead up, don't wanna get over-hyped as so many do. It's had a few minor issues with launch, but that's what day 1 is for almost every game these days. What I have played so far has looked incredible, and felt pretty good. Can't wait for their VR implementation. Love the ultrawide aspect ratio for this video btw, nice to have YT vids take up the whole screen :D
As a flight sim enthusiast, this is definitely an awesome simulator with great potential. There are indeed some issues though. The flight models are very sensitive and don't feel as realistic as something like X-Plane. The systems are extremely lacking, and you really can't simulate exact real-world procedures in these default aircraft. The weather, although pretty, does not do a good job at matching real-world weather, and there isn't even an option to change visibility!! I do believe though that in about a year, once there is a large addon market and some of the issues have been revised, this is the future of flight simulation. Until then, I'm sticking with X-Plane 11 for my most realistic flights, and I'll use this for just having fun and exploring.
It's more than a year later but we have some sending content now: The 414A and 310R for general aviation fans, and of course the 737, the A320, the Bae 146 and the MD80 for airliner fun. And then all the free stuff, A32NX, working title's mods, the A330 etc plus a massive amount of airports
Jason Burden The creators of the simulator did their research, it isn’t the completed experience because in real life you have to know more theory, you have to be in good physical and mental shape according the ICAO, and doesn’t have the complications that can happen and you have to be prepared for. But like I said as a simulator it does a excellent job 👌🏽✨ and the graphics 😂 just the sunset makes me cry.
@@julieabarham1462 Just wondering about the real time complications you are refering to - do the game no longer come with options of aircraft failiures that you can add into a flight to train for realistic events? I played FSX back in the days, and the previous version had several of those options. Picked up that FSX was recommended to play by pilots and academies because the similarities were so striking. And I am kind of expecting this version to be at least just as good. Of course, I'm not saying that the game matches reality pitch perfect in any way, but it used offer training for realistic complications as well as learning the basics of how to fly??
As a pilot I have been 'flying' Microsoft flight sim products almost from the first time MS produced the game, but ever since FSX came out, that's when I seriously started using FSX as a true flight simulator (yes, it really is that good) and actually began to resent people calling it a 'game'. One of the reasons the FAA never approved the sim for real flight training is because you have to use a mouse and a cursor to turn things off and on. All the sims I've seen approved for flight training have cockpits with switches and knobs like that of a real aircraft. In my beginning days of Navy flight training back in 1970, we had static cockpits to sit in (to help us practice and memorize flight procedures) that EXACTLY resembled the real airplane except that the only things that worked (or should I say 'moved') were the stick, throttle, prop, and mixture controls. It was in no way a flight simulator. It's purpose was simply to familiarize the student with 'where things were' so when the student got in a real airplane and started flying, he wouldn't say things like, "Now where in the hell is that damn altimeter." But once a student gets past the 'where is everything' stage, a REAL flight simulator is what the student needs to help him with all the headwork involved in flying--and that's what I used FSX for in my civilian flying after I got out of the military. I'm sure Microsoft didn't mind that the FAA wouldn't certify their product for real flight training as they still, otherwise, made plenty of money without having to sweat the possibility of losing money because of liability lawsuits. Yes, I did get to fly an American Airlines MD-80 full motion flight simulator one time and it was a real hoot. Sadly, I don't have a garage large enough or the bucks to buy one for myself. Luckily, with a $thousand bucks for MS software, a great computer, and flight sim equipment, I've still got a simulator good enough to help me maintain my mental proficiency in flying. Thanks MS!
As a flight student, Microsoft has done some incredible stuff with their new sim. I have it and it really is awesome for training different scenarios at home. It's a shame though that I'm running a Ryzen 5 and an RX580 so I have to run it on pretty low settings. 😂
ive a ryzen 5 too, with an rx570 8gb, can still run on high while not in big cities, although hoping to get a 5700xt when prices go down after rtx 3000 and RDNA2 drop
Just like Windows 10... This will be the last flight simulator MS ever releases. Everything from this point on will just be an evolution. I'm looking forward to exploring the world. Now that they have the physics engine... It would be cool if they could encorporate a vehicle simulator. Ground vehicles as well. AND BRING ON VR SUPPORT!!!
@@tych88 That's amazing. I can't wait. TRY as hard as I might... I just can not get into flat-screen flying. I'm learning the sim, and how ATC works and other stuff... but it's not nearly as enthralling flying on a flat screen as it is in VR for me. Can't wait!
As a very serious flight simmer, I can tell that this is what we are looking for for many years. Finally, someone has the right tools to mix all together and create this product. As you said, this is a simulator game. But comparing with other Sim products existing in the market I think there is room for improvement here. for most of the popular plains the sim offers, there are missing very important functions which make the sim experience more immerse. Yes, we got gateways, fuel trucks, catering, and baggages trucks as well, which helps a lot, but FMC (which is crucial when you got a nice 747 or A320) is not finished yet. Another chapter are the iconic buildings. Some are missing around the world. This should be room to pay products I guess as the extra airports and planes are. This is my opinion and of course, there is a lot, lot more to talk about. But again, this is something that we were waiting for much time and we are glad that finally exists!!
I'm absolutely blown away. It is simply stunning. I took off from Leeds Bradford Airport and headed south and used the M62 as a flight guide and took in Huddersfield to Stockport and then swung south following the M6 to Birmingham. I'm stunned at how good this game is.
Really choosing Earths greatest hotspots there! lol I line in this area and I agree its amazing to see what you know below you. At night its as photorealistic as it gets. I love seeing the cars and stuff puttering along the roads!
assetto corsa franchise has really good graphics if is that you are talking about, if it is about the world it self i dont really think that a racing simulator could make sense but something like a truck simulator could have a world like this. The problem is just that if you in the Microsoft flight simulator go close to the ground you can see how rough the textures are, the make is made to be looked from the skies, not really close like a driving simulator. basically what im saying is just for that to be possible you will need much more fidelity on your environment which makes the game even more difficult for current pcs to render and load, if a game like Microsoft flight simulator takes 4mins to load a game like that could take 10-20mins or probably even more.
Maxilmanius boi This too. Locked 60 fps on high setting on my ultrawide 32 inch display. And this is more downloadable my install was only 90gb compared to cod with his 120gb.
Lowkey I feel like if you could do long haul flights on mfs 2020 and master all controls you just need very few real life training to actually know how to fly planes such as 747, 787, or the A320. I could be wrong though.
I purchase game and started playing 24 hours. My favorite thing I've done, was flying through clouds at night and seeing the stars in the sky. Oh my God that was an incredible experience! 💪👍🍸

@@W0B0N you don’t need to change the weather settings, if it’s raining or snowing or there’s a hurricane in real life it’s in this game. There is no dynamic weather, it’s real time weather, with real time day and night cycles!
normally flight simulator games start with a base pack of aircraft and then you can download/buy third party material or/and wait for new aircraft from the devs. I dont really think "microtransactions" applies here because the philosophy is different. first off all you have the third party material and then you have to take into consideration quality and fidelity of what you are buying Its more like "add-on" than dlcs.
@@axel_x8954 I haven't tried the FS2020 myself yet but I heard it's gonna be easier for users to purchase add-ons since it's already in-game unlike when I purchased PMDG and Aerosoft products during FSX days that I had to go to their websites to buy them. Fun fact: Since the late 90's, if you have approved peripherals, Flight Simulator can be used to log Instrument flying towards your personal flight log
There are different levels of simulator training aids that can be used. The very basic is called an ATD, an Aircraft Training Device. This contains a cockpit layout similar to the actual aircraft, and maybe a limited screen to view something outside your aircraft from. An FTD is a step higher; it’s a full size replica of the aircraft you’re trying to learn to fly. A full flight simulator is the highest you can go, which airlines use to certify their pilots. It’s full motion, a full cockpit, and a complete view of a digitized outside world for your aircraft to fly in. What limits each of these categories is the fact that an ATD, FTD and FFS are for EACH particular aircraft. You can’t just have a yoke and rudder panels and log hours. That’s illegal.
FlightSimulatorXATC Lmfao yeah and it should be illegal. Imagine crashing a Cessna and killing everyone onboard and then the NTSB finds out the dude beyond the yoke had 1000 hours in MSFX 😂
@@barek731 there's a term called uncanny valley. It can sometimes mean that something looks soo realistic it feels wrong. I tried it out, but you have to know that unless you have all the settings cranked to the max, you will NOT get the graphics that you see from videos. You will need the best cards and the best CPU's for those graphics. With a mid-spec machine, the experience was quite underwhelming. Also, without dedicated peripherals, controlling planes will be a challenge.
Even with the best GPU out there right now the FPS you get with max settings is underwhelming. Let’s just say that getting above 60 fps on medium + settings are a luxury

Those will be in the monetization DLC.
The current planes are in fact so detailed you can look up the manual, refer to it, and everything will be accurate
You can even do the same with any available planes, turn on to hardcore difficulty and follow the proper pilot checklist for the specific aircraft.
Very true, for a casual player the default planes are fine. For a hardcore simmer...not even close.

This isn't just a game, it's art.
Until then, I'm sticking with X-Plane 11 for my most realistic flights, and I'll use this for just having fun and exploring.
ok
It's more than a year later but we have some sending content now: The 414A and 310R for general aviation fans, and of course the 737, the A320, the Bae 146 and the MD80 for airliner fun. And then all the free stuff, A32NX, working title's mods, the A330 etc plus a massive amount of airports

Why would you watch a review on a game you already purchased? It could sway our opinion after the fact.
Thanks MS!

I'm stunned at how good this game is.

assetto corsa franchise has really good graphics if is that you are talking about, if it is about the world it self i dont really think that a racing simulator could make sense but something like a truck simulator could have a world like this.
I think we will start seeing that within this decade.

Fun fact: Since the late 90's, if you have approved peripherals, Flight Simulator can be used to log Instrument flying towards your personal flight log
Uhh... no.
Source?
I’m gonna need a source on that chief
The graphics are unnervingly realistic and kinda freak me out.
Bring your barf bag
Why would they freak you out?
That's cuz they are actual scans from a satellite. They talked about it In a dev video sometime back.
@@MariTaco ye i know but that doesnt answer my question..
@@barek731 there's a term called uncanny valley. It can sometimes mean that something looks soo realistic it feels wrong. I like good graphics but the intense detail overload in the look and motion give me vague feelings of nausea. Not enough to puke but enough to unsettle. Hope that answered your question.
Well it's always annoying enough to fly planes in Microsoft's flight simulators. You just really need a joystick and you're grand
True, but they have future proofed there sim, which is the right thing to do
I run it on medium with a 1650 and it’s still beautiful at 30 fps
What about my Xbox One S, think that'll handle it properly?
Does your pc need to be strong to play this?
