Favorite spooky coaster is The Demon (Fright Fest specifically) but I haven't been over to Thorpe for the Saw coaster. The Mummy is also pretty ok. I've been on both of those. Is Mystic Timbers considered spooky? I haven't been on that one. I can't think of any others.
@@CZsWorld I'd call Mystic Timbers spooky, definitely. You've got the shed with a randomized monster. The queue and lift hill audio are pretty vague without context, though. Demon is a great choice. I love the story told in the full queue audio. Nobody says they like SAW, but I have a feeling you'd be a little more forgiving. ;) For more spooky coasters, Alton Towers has you covered. The Smiler is peak spooky marketing.
I will never forget in 2016 (before the upgrades), going up that elevator shaft and thinking, what is going on? And imo from what i have seen the projector absolutely ruins that effect. The factory-looking shaft somehow fit in very well and was definitely spooky. My favorite ride to date.
Ah yes!!! Thank you for making this video. I was always really intrigued by this ride. Sad to hear of these "upgrades" though which I was not aware of. Anyway, I was OBSESSED with Scooby-doo as a kid and I loved the 2 live action movies from the early 2000s. Have them on VHS 😄
I never saw the sequel (definitely will soon) but I really liked the first one too. I like it even more now! It’s just too bizarre and fun to not love it. Thanks for watching, dude!
Back when the coaster first opened, the mirror had a heap of green lasers shining back at the riders and a heap of spinning bright lights. It’s been a few years since I have been on the coaster but it’s definitely my go-to attraction at Movie World
Never forget the first time I went on this ride a few years after it opened, I was probably 12ish and I was SO terrified! The lines used to have animatronic knights that turned their head to look at you, there were skeletons everywhere, and the weird monster thing that pops up (that seems to have no relation to the film) used to make me scream. I went on the new one last year, not quite as good as the original but I think still enough to be scary for kids(or adults who have never been on it before!) The last monster on the screen before you get off made me jump i really wasn't expecting it.. it growled so freaking loud too!
I love the Spooky Coaster a whole lot - always a highlight of my Gold Coast trips. I do miss the animatronics, but the Next Gen revamp still makes for a fun experience - definitely an improvement for the elevator.
Most of the animatronics are in storage however, the knight scooby that used to stand by the mirror is now tucked away in a corner of the inside ending, you can see it as you come in it's on the left. :)
My friend and I went in 2017 so excited to relive our favorite childhood ride. We left so disappointed as the whole ride was pretty empty and stripped of everything, we were so sad that the axes weren't even swinging that day
the fact they didnt make a full spooky island theme park out of the resort the movie was shot in and built the ride there is a travesty like that shit would not only be amazing but would make so much money it was a huge missed opportunity.
Im glad ive rode on both versions. Got to experience well. Both experiences. I remember being so scared of the..... dragon thing that popped out of the wall.
I remember riding this Coaster for the first time before renovations and I didn't know about the backwards drop from the lift and omg it's was so scary, so was the dark ride section 🤣 and I love the fact about the spider being added from a old Harry Potter attraction I didn't know that until I watched your video 😁 thank you
The lift was much better previously especially when it was pitch black when you first got in and voices would shout “Scooby! Scooby doo! Where are you?” Only for him to reply “I’m up Here!” Then the lift would go up and red lights would turn on… originally the main room was filled with smoke and just green lasers. So much better in the early days
I remember when I last when on this ride , it was just bright , all the lights where turned on and no music was playing and the anamatronics weren’t working . I’m going up soooj so I can experience a new version of this ride
I actually rode this! Must have been just before the conversion to "next generation." Having not checked rcdb beforehand, I assumed it was going to be one of the standard Mack Wild Mouse clones, so I was blown away by the dark ride portion, elevator, and backwards section. Knowing that half the effects weren't even working at the time, I really want to get back there now!
Where can I find that interview of Neil Fanning? I wanna watch it fully and I also love how they did The Mystery Machine in the back with promos for the ride~
If its still the same as it is right now I think the ride could use some more attraction. Don't get me wrong it looks awsome and fun but does everything in that ride have to be all spooky island I mean if they could add a giant spider in that ride why not add some of the villains from the movie? The disco room looks like it have enough room for a scale model of the luna ghost or the teradactal ghost and some of the other rooms could maybe use the monsters from scooby doo 2.
Update; showed this vid to my gf who is a massive Scooby fan, she bloody loves this Coaster, it gives her an opportunity to talk about the Scooby doo flick and lore for 20 mins or so. It’s a good time. Good wild mouse. Themeing is a little clumsy but theming is usually just “no” here in Aus. Hagrids it ain’t, but it’s good.
When I went agian recently they got rid of the animatronics and had a leftover one basically near the exit not working or it was just a statue and other than the Batman museum a lot of Movie World was under construction and worn down, Very disappointing experience overall and nowhere near as good as it's heyday
Well it closed again in 2023 and won’t be opening until 2025, said to be a multimillion dollar upgrade, hopefully there’s better cohesion and animatronics return, would be cool if the whole ride was castle themed but who knows have to wait and see..
I think most people who hate the movie just saw the nostalgia critic review and went “well I haven’t watched the movie but it’s garbage” and that is what I thought after seeing the review but after seeing the movie I actually quite enjoyed the movie
I remember when I went on the ride when they removed the anamatronics and it was just a bunch of dark hallways. so boring I liked the old version bettet
Me and my sister’s reaction to the broken glass sound effects on the next generation: GOD MY EARS. WHEN THE HELL DO WE GET OUT OF THIS TUNNEL THING-? MY GOD DAMN- *leaves the tunnel thing* oh- nevermind.
Ive riden this coster when i wa little and just recently ngl next generation is a major down grade i asked on of the ride oprators about the animatronics and they sude they were to expensive to run and fire hazard bla bla bla so I guess having a shitier experience is better then burning alive
I went on the orignal as a kid ( i live on the gc) and it was one of the first ones ever, now I hate it. it seems like theyre trying too hard and putting random things that dont relate to the original movie. Disappointing to say the least. AND it is not scary at all ! that is like the only full "dark ride" around that has the element of surprise but now its just not -_-
Enthusiasts: We don't like screens.
GP: Even we do not like screens.
Parks: ...Should we add more screens?

@Theodore Moises lmao what is this?

The 2002 scooby doo move was the stuff.
It was good

I still am baffled that you do not have like a million subscribers by now

Yes same!!!

I had no idea this ride existed! I feel like they could’ve went way further with the theming, but who knows when I’ll get to Australia to see 😂
better than my local shin guard infested wild mouse, Coast Rider.
Spooky Coaster is cooler than my local Dark Knight coaster. 🤪
Ah yes, the only prop guaranteed to work on the dark knight, *the loud horn blasted in your ear*
Priorities. Loud horn or ride is closed.
Every dark rollercoaster is BETTER with the lights off.
I remember when I last when on this ride , it was just bright , all the lights where turned on and no music was playing and the anamatronics weren’t working . I’m going up soooj so I can experience a new version of this ride
great vid mate

That’s awesome!! Seems like you had a great trip :0
The older dark ride section looked very fun.
ridden both versions, the old one was defiantly the better ride and felt a lot more scary.
8:04 The broken R key on my keyboard finally slipped passed me I'm mad as HECK.
Epic video
i still can’t believe fred said beeyotch
I just did this today and the only thing that scared me was the dips and turns as well as the axes wish they had the animatronics
What the hell. That was an interesting video.
My favorite spooky coaster is definitely mystic timbers

Where's my "History of The Lobster at SFGAm" video? I need to know if they got rid of the rattle.
I don't remember much as a little kid about this ride. But I want the other day, with my partner and I was really disappointed
That Banjo Kazooie I hear? Hot beat
Matthew Lillard is a treasure. IMO, 13 ghosts house would have been a better theme park ride just for the mirrors.
Is the backwards drop in the new generation version of this ride?
they are now revamping it hopefully they add back the animatronics but we gotta wait 1.5 years or so to see lmao
Thought you were gonna talk about Woodstock express for a second
I would love to ride this Scooby-Doo ride at Warner bros movie world in Australia. 🇦🇺
Now the lights are on in the disco part p
When I went agian recently they got rid of the animatronics and had a leftover one basically near the exit not working or it was just a statue and other than the Batman museum a lot of Movie World was under construction and worn down, Very disappointing experience overall and nowhere near as good as it's heyday
*do i smell hidden palace from sonic 2*
Wat the at end of the video please respond
If this is about the song, it’s a 20 second long cover of Vengabus that I made for outros.
Now it’s closed again until 2025 for another refurb.
Well it closed again in 2023 and won’t be opening until 2025, said to be a multimillion dollar upgrade, hopefully there’s better cohesion and animatronics return, would be cool if the whole ride was castle themed but who knows have to wait and see..
It better still be Scooby doo themed
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan
Oh dw, it still Will be.
“It might be a reference? Maybe...” 🤷🏻♀️
The live action Scooby Doo videos are hated on too much imo
I think most people who hate the movie just saw the nostalgia critic review and went “well I haven’t watched the movie but it’s garbage” and that is what I thought after seeing the review but after seeing the movie I actually quite enjoyed the movie
they're doing more work on it. it's shut till 2025 :(
i forgot that movie even existed until today
😈
If it breaks ur ears like the dark night clones then it sucks lol
They wrecked it. I went on the new version and none of it was working.
wild mouse that is at lagoon
I remember when I went on the ride when they removed the anamatronics and it was just a bunch of dark hallways. so boring I liked the old version bettet
i rode on it once. in 2015.
right before they butchered it.
No way next generation is scarier.
spooky gang
They ruined it with the update looks like
Me and my sister’s reaction to the broken glass sound effects on the next generation: GOD MY EARS. WHEN THE HELL DO WE GET OUT OF THIS TUNNEL THING-? MY GOD DAMN- *leaves the tunnel thing* oh- nevermind.
I swear the mirror used to have a laser pointing down it and it was meant to be trippy
Ive riden this coster when i wa little and just recently ngl next generation is a major down grade i asked on of the ride oprators about the animatronics and they sude they were to expensive to run and fire hazard bla bla bla so I guess having a shitier experience is better then burning alive

I Went On This And My Biggest Mistake
Stay Away This Ride.
The Next gen is shit
