That was really interesting! I've ridden this literally hundreds of times since it opened back in 2002. It was an amazing, world class coaster back in the day. In recent years it went way downhill, with the ride itself becoming very rough and the theming quality dropping significantly (the 3D screens were awful and replaced practical sets). Here's hoping they bring the ride back to its former glory in 2025! I think you guys will love it. 😁
This looks to be one of the best wild mouse coasters out there. In addition to the wild mouse potion you have an elevator lift, a large backwards drop, a turntable, and a huge prelift section that reminds me of Mystery Mine. Awesome!
Shame you didn't get to ride it. The best part is actually the main section. The light show lasers and soundtrack are world class. It's hard to describe unless youve experienced it but It gets loud in there when it's fully operational. Sensory overload. In its prime easily the worlds best wild mouse
Scooby Doo is one of my faves in the park. So excited to see its overhaul. Especially since after it’s large refurbishment a few years ago when they added projection mapping screens, seemed rushed and out of place for the ride. So hopefully they fix that up and make it a little more seamless
Yeah I've been riding this coaster for years and too be honest I didn't realise until recently that it was actually a wild mouse coaster. Probably one of the best family coasters out there. Looking forward to what improvements will be made throughout its closure!😃
I remember riding it back in the day, the lazers in the main section back then, and the spider became one of my main childhood core memories, there was also another time we were riding and my brothers sunglasses came out of his pocket, he somehow caught them as we were going down the big drops. All I remember is seeing these sunnies just floating in our faces as we dropped 😂
This is an incredibly well themed attraction. No ride (except Velocicoaster, of course!) would drop you into a scene from movie and have you enjoy such an authentic experience!
This is my absolute favorite childhood movie I learned all the lines in preschool & watch it at least once a month lol it’s truly my happy place 2025 I’m setting a goal to go & ride this ride! 🤩🤎
I'm so jealous about this backstage access. Really cool! Still can't believe they announced this closure within a few days of me arriving. It's not like they probably knew months in advance and didn't even attempt to update their maintenance schedule on their site. Either way, closed coasters are sucky, but there's nothing you can do about it. Yes, I'm also talking about that other coaster.
To know I'm probably will never experience these rides, parks, and Australia as a whole makes me sad. But this was a great look inside the attraction. Loved it
I remember sitting on this ride 8 October 2022 during the Movie World Tweety's Birthday. I also went on this ride during Fright Nights 22 October 2022. I also went on this ride 17 December 2022 during White Christmas.
That is so cool that they are reusing the props. It brings authentic feeling to the ride. Those trains are so scary looking! It is really cool that they let you do a walk-through.
@@ThemeParkOgre Where's the animatronic at 4:52? It was still there before the direction towards the swinging axes when I went on this ride 8 and 22 October 2022. I also went on this ride 17 December 2022 during White Christmas.
You got to experience the attraction just like the Mystery Gang did in the movie. Amazing. Very lucky. I'd much rather prefer this amazing tour than to ride the thing. I'd still love to ride it though, don't get me wrong 😂
I worked Ops at this attraction back in 2001 - 2003. It was my favorite attraction to ride and work at..(except for working in the booth overlooking the start of the wild mouse portion. You had to wear earplugs to block out the insanely loud "rock" version of the Scooby Doo theme and it was still soooooo loud!!) I saw a video of a ride thru a couple years ago and it looked so sad compared to back then. So many effects were gone! (The fog & laser "portal" before the last dip was such a treat!!) I really hope they can bring it back to it's glory days. (if you ever have questions about other WB MovieWorld attractions from back then, let me know! I worked everything! Lethal Weapon, Harry Potter Movie Magic Experience, Wild Wild West Log Flumes, Scooby, Batman Adventure 2, all of Looney Tunes Village and more!)
Ah yes... the High Zone and lift shifts lol. I worked there between 2011 and 2013 and loved my Scooby Shifts. Was always a fun ride to evacuate when it broke down. It was very temperamental back then haha, loved the morning track walks too!
Thanks for showing us this! I had absolutely no idea that these props had been in the live action movie. I’ve ridden scooby-doo twice, both at fright nights with my sister, mum and dad and it was a great ride, especially with my mum screaming the whole time😂. I’m sorry you didn’t get to ride it, but maybe that cool tour of the ride made up for it a little. Hope you enjoyed your time here in Australia, and I can’t wait for the Movie World Vlog! Keep up the good videos.
as a season pass holder, i noticed many special effects were broken before it shut down, the screen after the first u turn is broken for example, and the tiki screen after the last drop is also broken, the reaper onth3 second right hand u turn is not synchronised with the cart, with the reaper turning before the cart
That was a cool personal tour. It is definitely a fun ride, especially for a Scooby-Doo fan. I hope you guys gave feedback to the park - all the parks - on ways they can improve the experience and offerings. My biggest gripe is the lack of flatrides. Just like Sea World at main beach, they only have two flat rides for adults. I had the day off work on Thursday so I went to Movie World. There were only three rides open which dropped to two 15 minutes after entering the park when Green Lantern went down, leaving just DC Rivals and the flume ride. I knew in advance both of their flat rides and two of the coasters were down for annual maintenance, but then for two of the few remaining rides go down just rubbed salt into the wound. That is 100% of their flat rides down and 80% of the roller coasters down. It’s totally unacceptable for a park billing itself as a destination to have such a wafer thin ride lineup. So feeling let down, I headed down to SeaWorld. At least Leviathan, Jet Rescue and Storm Coaster were operating but once again, both their flat rides - Vortex and Trident - were down, plus their monorail has been SBNO for years and their flume ride has also been a derelict eyesore for even longer. It’s just not good enough to have such a thin ride line-up. They need to have a greater variety so that when inevitably a ride or two goes down unexpectedly for whatever reason, there are still rides to enjoy. Sadly, there has been a long period of all our Gold Coast theme parks being run down, with ride after ride being removed with no replacements. There has been a belated turn around in investment, but this hardly comes close to rectifying the decline. Imagine going to a Six Flags or Cedar Fair park only to find there’s almost nothing open. You’d have a fit!
As someone stuck on the other side of the world, I haven’t experienced the ride. But something about this video almost seems spookier with lights on and nothing going, 😂
As someone who watched Scooby-Doo a lot growing up and also grew up riding Six Flags St. Louis’ Scooby-Doo shooting dark ride, I’d be devastated if I went and this was closed
This was an awesome coaster back in the day. The refurb with screens added was a terrible mistake and removed some of the ride's charm. I rode this in August last year and it was a painful experience. This overhaul is greatly needed and lets I hope they reinstate the practical effects.
Not only was James Gunn the screenwriter of the first Scooby-Doo movie, but in a weird coincidence, he not only was the screenwriter of its (much better) sequel, Monsters Unleashed, but also the Movie that opened THE EXACT SAME DAY (March 23, 2004), the remake of DAWN OF THE DEAD!!
The live action movies are ok but I like the second one a lot. My favorite Scooby doo live action movie and what a Scooby doo live action movie should be.
i never knew they used props from the movie as props on the ride, i wonder if they filmed the movie in some of the building before it became the coaster
To visit Brisbane Australia would be a treat on its own, let alone visit its theme. I'm just happy that North America is not the only country that serves Chicken Katsu other than Japan itself. Heck to even visit the east coast of the United States is between $300 to $500. P.S Are you American visitors om holiday? Or are you an Aussie permanent resident and from the United States or Canada? I don't detect any accent. I have a stepsister who is an aunt who permanently lives in Australia. But I've never been to OZ.
I’m not good on roller coasters, thought it was like a ghost train ride, nearly wet my pants when the roller coaster part started and going backwards 🤮

its hardly 3d screens
@@jjperceval Not 3D as in "you wear glasses and things jump out at you" but 3D in that they used CGI footage projected onto screens.

With this and Leviathan you just sold me that Australia (from a coaster perspective anyway) is way more than just DC Rivals
Bryant, DC Rivals is that carrot they dangle Infront of you, only to find out there's a better tasting carrot at Seaworld.
Movieworld also has the Superman ride, which is fantastic.

This is one of my most favorite movies and my favorite scene! I NEED to get on this.
The ride looks way better the way it did back in the early 2000s. The animatronics are scarier than screens
