We were camping in Vermont a few weeks ago (4th of July 2024) and the people next to us had a 32 foot Airstream. They were actually headed to a dealer to trade the Airstream for a Brinkley! They have 2 large dogs and without slides, the Airstream was too narrow so trying to step over the dogs was not practical. A very exciting brand for the industry.
We bought it and absolutely love it. Except it needs a place for shoes, swifter and an added lower step coming into the trailer. I like the bathroom and shelf under sink, you can still put a wastebasket on the bottom. I also like that the bathroom door locks. We have more storage than we know what to do with! Our GD Imagine has this similar floorplan, but being of retirement age we arent dealing with the mirror-inly option in the bathroom. This and the large bedroom closet not being hanging storage are two items preventing us from trading in & buying today. We work fulltime in our RV, love the opposing slides for giving us room to work & play. We even have a dishwasher on one side of the island sink area. If we cant solve the medicine cabinet function we may consider the Z2900 instead, but we love 95% of the Z Air 285, it just needs to be old people compatible, lol. We care nothing for the bedroom TV & fireplace, we enjoy cooler temp sleeping & any place we go on the shoulder seasons require running the furnace since we are typically boondocki g at Harvest Hosts where we are in internal.power only. Brinkley, Please read all the people’s comments on the 285 from Big Truck, Big RV and Josh the RV Nerd at Bish’s. There are hundreds but I have read them all. I have a couple of opinions myself for you to consider that are not too outrageous. How about a convection microwave/ air fryer combo? Also, increase the size of the window behind the televator. Also, how about a factory installed 3000 watt inverter and washer/dryer, not just a “prep” for each. Also, how about ALL of the cabinets and drawers be soft closing. I do appreciate the dove tailed drawers quality! Thank you for that. Maybe an optional couch/ sofa bed as an option in lieu of the recliners, like you have on the Z. The 12 volt frig is fantastic for us who like to dry camp, but then that 3000 watt inverter would help here. Lastly, My half ton truck only tows 11,040 lbs, so it may not be enough to tow this 285. Maybe a smaller, lighter “275” or “Model I” series that keeps the same high quality standards. Thanks again! great trailer!
Love this beautiful trailer....so so eagerly awaiting a 30' or less model...I hear something about an I series...can't wait can't wait...hoping it's out end of summer early fall as that is when we will be purchasing.
Brinkley is one of the better RV's out there. No problems and they are made properly. If you are considering an RV or travel trailer, Brinkley is the way to go!
Almost perfect！Just one thing - a kitchen range hood with an exhaust port cannot be ignored! If a future new model have this setting, I will not hesitate to get it as my next full-time RV.
Great looking unit. Brinkley will be our next camper. Z285, z2900, z3100. Still deciding. Super quality in all we have looked at. One thing to change. Z285 needs 4 steps. It seems minor but take a look at how much the legs are extended. Thanks for the tour.
This is the first thing I also noticed. The three steps have a higher rise which is so hard on older worn out knees…actually I’m not even that old yet so I a.ways consider the next ten years when considering how certain steps will affect me. Also I just checked out this camper yesterday and the bed cubby for a cpap is questionable for size… it looks much more awkward of a set up for filling the humidity chamber. I would prefer an open end table and to loose the top drawer in order to not have to fill the water chamber on top of my bed. Other than those minor things this is an amazing camper.
Love this! Thoughts on flipping the slides so you can see most of the camp side with the big windows and sometimes utilize the awnings to shade the suns heat.
Such an excellent trailer that we ordered one, eta this july, we are very excited. Brinkley...please strongly consider adding a 12v outlet in the bedroom cubby for CPAP users that stay off grid/boondock for extended time. This will negate the need to run the inverter and utilize the solar panels and battery system.
This is gorgeous! This is the one I want. Is it possible to get one of these without the darkened windows? I live in the Northeast and love pure sunlight. Maybe if I ordered dual pane it could be done? Just another thought.😊Thank you.
The slide side windows need to open. Sliding up and down so no interference bringing slide in. Loose the fire place in the bed room. Maybe more storage instead. Nice unit good looking 😊
In general on all models - I'd like to see a place to hide a kitty litter box. A choice for a different color other than the gold upholstery and a swivel/pull out option for the televator. Also, a dishwasher option and outdoor grill option for outdoor kitchen. A bidet option for the toilet. A microwave/convection/air fryer oven.
I really do like the attention to details that your company puts into these RVs. And I like this layout, but wonder if there was a reason that you didn't switch the slide outs to put the sofa, dinette and all the windows on the camp side of the trailer? The slides look to be similar sizes.

Lots of great things going on here. The ONLY thing I think Brinkley is completely missing the mark on is the tiny bathrooms they build in all their models. As soon as my wife saw how small it was, she immediately said "nope, do they have anything with a proper master bath?". And there goes my hopes of getting a Brinkley.....
I currently don’t have an RV with a “wet bay” and have a question for those who do! Does your water hose (when attached at camp) keep the wet bay door from being shut and locked? Also has anyone ever cooked a meal on the stove without using a vent hood? I use mine quite often and seems Brinkley does not have one at all. We are seriously considering the 285 but have questions!
ordered mine i will 0116 and its made waiting for a couple back ordered parts then it will be on its was to Texas - we had a 30 footer and the extra 4 feet is like night and day. To open one slide to access fridge is not a big deal cause 9x out of ten we restock while unhooked, The big deal is having the restroom access when closed up while on the road for that pit stop and leg stretch.
What size truck/SUV would you recommend to pull this trailer? Expand on my original question, I take it would be like Ford F250 class truck vs an F150 class.
These are nicely built. I’m sure I’m in the minority, and this unit isn’t intended to be optimized for off grid, but I’d like to see 12v outlets. Doing a CPAP off a 12v cord is more efficient than running an inverter. As far as that goes if there is no whole trailer inverter it would be nice to be able to plug in a 12v TV, or a person can get a better quality 110ac TV and a little 300 watt inverter…
I want this trailer, BUT, the one thing stopping me is the bed. We're currently in a trailer that has a 70x80 king, and we would rather not go back to a queen. Is there any chance you're looking at making a travel trailer with a king bed option? Also a box that can accommodate extra lithium batteries; I currently run 4 100AH batteries.
I really want something like this (Ideally some 5th wheel luxury in a smaller travel trailer towed behind something like a maverick but that doesn't exists so it kinda sucks
A full bunk room, with full size stove and a washer dryer. Would be great for full time families who can afford a new RV but not a new truck that can tow a fifthwheel
I have to say, I love your RV! I live in my RV full time, out of necessity. But I would never be able to afford your RV's. They just cost way too much for me!
The 2" receiver is rated for 300 lbs. carrying capacity and in the very few states you can double tow a travel trailer 3,000 lbs. towing. The four-way plug will work with popular cargo trays that feature an additional brake light.
Any trailer that requires moving the slides to access the refrigerator is a poor design. Try opening that beast at a busy supermarket while on the road to put away fresh groceries. Not so much a travel trailer as it is a towable park model. I’ll wait for something smaller and more usable.
Disagree, it's so easy and quick to open the slide when needed. This plan is one of the few that I actually like better than our current couples trailer. Well done Brinkley
This floor plan is a strong copy of our GD Imagine 2670mks and it is no problem when stopping to open up the kitchen slide since it protrudes much less than our side door and grab handle. We have done this numerous times & 11:04 11:04 never had an issue making lunch or dinner. Without those opposing slides we would not have the tremendous space that makes both of us working out of our RV possible. Now I need to visit a Brinkley in person, but it's going to cost me, lol.

Perfect, if only the living and kitchen were flipped. Windows on the camp side are the only acceptable compromise for a slide on the camp side.

It doesn't look like the Hensley will work unless you remove the LP box. The vertical bars will not clear the box.

Bathroom mirror should always have a medicine cabinet behind it.
We are looking at TT with king beds. It would be nice if we had the option of a king bed.
I have the Rockwood signature 8263mbr and it has a king size bed. It's only big enough for couples not a family.

We do not offer dishwasher prep from the factory. Many customers will use a tabletop dishwasher.

The spare is undermounted toward the rear of the coach.
Outside shower should be in the rear .
Outside shower on both the camp and off-door side for easy clean up!

Paper towels in the same cabinet as the trash can is nasty.
That paper towel holder just nests in there for travel. It pulls out for countertop use.
