Does anyone else thinks she looks a bit disturbed? Maybe she anticipates some backlash from cooking this popular dish like the backlash she got for trying to cook Pozole, a very traditional dish.
I like Rachel Ray, but that video was such a disappointment. To me cooking is an art that not only provides nutrition, but is therapeutic to me. It sets an atmosphere for fellowship and hospitality. I was looking forward to this video and all I could do is roll my eyes when she was done. It takes at least 10 minutes to gather your ingredients and set up your pans with oil. I don't thing the shrimp and vegetables were properly cooked, she left out ingredients which she tossed on top and again were not cooked. I don't understand the whole point of this video, I'm assuming its for people on the run. If you eat it that quickly, its just going to give you indigestion.
Imho, this is one of my favorite dishes, and Rachel's recipe and quick method of preparation is a hit, not a disaster. I can't wait to make it! And kindly listing the ingredients for us will make it that much easier! 🍤🥚🥢💖💯
This looks a lot less greasy than traditional egg foo young. I will definitely try it but I will probably put the garlic and ginger in closer to the beginning of the saute. I also like my eggs, vegetables, and shrimp cooked well so I will be flipping it back over, cooking the other side completely before plating it ON A BED OF RICE, and putting gravy on it. Maybe I really won't be doing this recipe at all. 🤣🤣🤣
Why 3 minutes? This was completely stupid! What's the point of rushing in 3 minutes? Most people are not cooking in a high- pressured Chinese restaurant environment. Sorry, but this was a hot mess.
This show went downhill fast 18 furloughed IATSE members and a handful of additional non union crew won’t be paid for roughly two thirds of their scheduled workdays this season. Her husband thinks he knows how to do everything and take the jobs of hard working men. You both should be ashamed of yourself & should quit tv. You guys made enough millions off the backs of hardworking people. That crappy cooking don’t even look good. Single mothers cook every single day you’re not revolutionary you’re not even a good cook or have any talent.
This was done only for show Not enough spouts too much carrots, need to brown the eggs to a crisp WHAT??? You put the lid on the open flame! The time was edited because that sauce was boiling in 20 sec.
Of course it only takes three minutes to kind of half ass cook it after your staff gathers the ingredients and lays it all out for you. Why not take the time to do it properly instead?

She only cooked one side! When she did the plate flip I thought she did that to cook the other side. I also agree with the person who said that the shrimp weren't cooked thoroughly. If she had used medium or small shrimp maybe I would think they could be cooked in such a short time frame but then again... I've made my egg foo young according to the following recipe with the young Asian woman who said her mom would make it for breakfast. ruclips.net/video/XVTJrkgW304/видео.html Her way of cooking said each side should cooked for at least 2 to 3 minutes AND she mixed all the ingredients before she put it in the pan to cook. Maybe if you want to cook in 3 minutes and use raw shrimp you NEED to deep fry it where it would cook both sides at once or cook the shrimp beforehand. If feeling lazy use cooked shrimp and you don't have to worry about raw seafood.🙂
Had she done Cooking in 10 minutes like Gordon Ramsay, she would have been able to cook both sides of the Foo Yung. Also add the shrimp following the flip. The shrimp wouldn't be overcooked.

The concept, even the music is clearly copying (poorly) Gordon Ramsey's timed dish episodes. He's been doing this type of thing for some time. I like Rachael, but this isn't a good fit for her.
