Now that I have the controlller I can actually agree with you when you say, it’s not made for people that play flipped. It’s not uncomfortable but I find the L1 and R1 buttons hella sensitive, I find myself aiming in and out without barely even touching the buttons. Which is a good thing but can be bad in a clutch situation.
All in all it’s a good controller I think I’m going to finally play with the software so I can play with L2 and R2.
I’m that dude that grips my controller like it’s glued to my hands while playing fps. So I can agree with you on that too.

I own this controller, it's very good. Their weaknesses comes from the sticks. I recommend you change them.
I use regular scuf concave on both end(ps4 layout) with 110g tension on the right one. Im fps gamer (BFV/Rb6/PubG/Cod). As for references, my aim can go up to 33% on bfv with no snap aim assist.
I was also a R1 L1 zoom/shoot style guys, but with this controller the trigger stop is very good and my aim is better when I use R2 L2 cause my thumb rest in a better position on my thumbstick..
I also have to say thT when I zoom with L2, I can tap L1 to add a skill in my game. L1 crouch for crouch shoot or L1 for steady aim like game pubg...
I also played with the c40 stick acceleration. I use 25-45-65-65-100 on my right one and 0-40-80-100-100 on left one.
Right one my acceleration gets a plato at 65% its like the elite control on smooth acceleration its very good. Left one its agressive for always being in movement..

No, actually you can recalibrate for stick drift an endless amount of times. It’ll still drift. I must have recalibrated mine over 50 times on my ASTRO C40 that I’ve had for only 2 DAYS! They’re defective. This is my second controller, and the first lasted only 1 week before stick drift. It should be recalled! “Just order new ones, they’re cheap?” For over $200 there better be NO stick drift for at least a year.

I love this controller I get stick drift sometimes on my R3 but its minor and honestly i just swap the sticks on whatever side and It's fine. the movement doesnt really do much w/ stick drift atleast in COD considering I'm always moving. This controller is super durable, the trigger stocks are so great and it has a nice feel. I did complain about the design of it after coming from a DS4 but I can ultimately say this controller once you get used to it is amazing, the back paddles are great for people who grip their controller

  • @Huttz

I'm not finding anyone with the same issues I'm having.. straight from box.. it's not stick drift.. but when you aim for instance in cod or fortnite you rotate a circle and it feels more like a square as if something's not right, would that be a tension issue? I ordered battlebeavers extreme tension but reading some reviews saying battlebeavers are just as bad when it comes to stick drift.. but no one mentions about aiming feeling so weird

The rubber coating on mine started to peal off the controller and I spent the best part of a week to get a replacement which they have done and it will be shipped to me next week but I am looking at 4 - 7 working days so I am looking at the 19th - 22nd Apr before I get a new controller.
But the worst part is for Astro Gaming to replace your controller you have to destroy the controller the a photo with the date and a signatory and email this to their support showing that you have destroyed the controller before they will send you a new one. When you get your new controller just bin the broken one.
Crazy policy but I can see their logic it save on logistics and paying somebody to test it and then throwing away when you can do this for them and it save money. But in the meantime I am playing on my Xbox because I cannot remember where I put my DS4 controller which inhate becausebits too small for my large hands. So I don't mind waiting...
Although I did keep certain parts for spares. 😉

    • @hefeydd_
      @hefeydd_ 4 года назад +1

Don't get me wrong it is an amazing controller, but it does have some really bad design flaws and features. Why didn't it come with a round D-Pad disk..which you have to buy separately which is always out of stock.
Why didn't they make the analogue sticks magnetic to take rubber analogue thumb sticks off you have to pull really hard and that is a poor design feature. The one thing that a lot of games don't do because let's face it not all gamers use their common sense.
The first thing that you should do is update the firmware before you even connect the controller to your console. And do the same for the Bluetooth receiver as well.
When your apologies sticks start to wonder connect your controller to your laptop or PC and running the software click on the analogue sticks and if the left bar is wondering is it out of sync. Just turn over your controller and their is a reset button on the back hold this down until you feel a vibration this has now reset the controller. Now the wondering analogue stick as stopped.
Analogue modules people are buying these like it is going out of fashion and a lot of the time this is not down to the controller but it is down to the players being heavy handed and then blaming the controller when they are actually at fault. If your module analogue stick or d-pad is not responding remove the faceplate and reseat the modules.

I swear I don’t full sprint as fast in any of the Call of Duty games I play with this controller, compared with when I switch back to my regular PS4 controller......it’s almost as if the length the stick will move forward for this controller is ever so slightly smaller than on the regular PS4 controller. When I switch back and forth, it just feels like my movement is faster on the regular controller, both for running full sprint and moving side to side.
I’m also one of those people who have had to contact their customer service for a new stick when I started to get highly problematic stick drift in the right stick which I realized was throwing my aim off in some games. After I tried to recalibrate it and that didn’t work, I contacted Astro and their customer service department was actually wonderful and got me the new sticks promptly and free of charge since it was at that point only a month after I got the controller. But that’s also precisely the problem, a lot of other videos are also talking about customer complaints with needing stick replacements not long after buying the controller and it just makes me wonder if Astro even bothered to put much testing into this product before releasing it. It’s a shame, because I love how this controller feels in my hands, and the size is actually a plus for me because I have big hands, so it feels better than the regular controller to me.

    Thanks for a great video.
I was thinking about buying this controllor but now you said you wouldn't use it for fps I am not sure. I can't deside weather to get the astro or battle beaver.
I am new to gaming and only started a year ago when blackout came out. Its only game I play really. When I first started playing I was useing the standard ps4 contollor. It was fine but during some gun fights players were able to jump and slide and aim and shoot at me all at the same time and I was getting out classed by movement. I am not able to play claw so I looked to get a controllor that had back buttons so I can use one for slide and one for jump. I ended up buying the nacon revolution unlimited. It improved my movement massively having back buttons and I went from dropping 10 to 15 bombs to regular 20 bombs on alcatraz now. All thanks to the extra back buttons. But sadly the controller feels very laggy when Compared to the stock ps4 pad. It's feels amazing to hold and use but the responsiveness just hinders you in the end if your playing fast paced shooter like blackout. I under stand tech and have done all I am able to in the software and no matter what I do its just not as responsive as a normal ps4 pad. I have only had this pad for about 6 months and the right trigger has become twice as lose as the left. Also at times the left bumper button just don't work and you have to do a second press to get it to work. So I am left not happy and slightly hindered due to the laggy Ness.
I have the funds to buy what ever pad I want but just don't know which one to get. Mr glasscock what contollor woido you recommend that I buy for fps games. I just want something that has the response time of the stock ps4 pad while having 2 extra button on the back. I am not sure weather to order a scuff or astro or battle beaver. Got any advice please
