What I'm looking for is a pokemon hack for the ds or 3ds that allows you to go to different regions. Preferably with their native pokemon being only those exclusive to those regions. With the original 150 being exclusive to Kanto with a few changes where regions with fewer pokemon could get a few stolen from other regions. Being able to being your journey in Kanto and move from region to region. Also being able to catch your own starter pokemon would be ideal. So far what I'm seeing are difficulty hacks or hacks that add great qol. Surely though someone in the community must share my old school nostalgia. To take on each game with updated graphics, stories, and mechanics. Even if one were to just re-create Kanto or Jhoto that'd be nice.
