There's always that one pokemon that you can tell had some actual love put into it by the gamefreak devs and I'm glad we as a community also love some of those pokemon (vikavolt and Rayquaza being the prime examples of gamefreak love)
Ryquaza looks kinda weird to me, his lips look out of the place, and he's plain chinese dragon. I really dont understand where's all the hype coming from for him except for the fact that he's the first leg a lot of peoples get
Rayquaza hits deep for me. I still have the same Rayquaza from my orginal Sapphire version that I played in 4th grade when I was 9 years old. I am turning 30 this year, we have been through quite the journey together
Zebstrika actually is not post-game only in ORAS. You can catch one after catching or defeating the game's Legendary of the Main Story, meaning you only need 7 badges to find mirage islands. Just play ORAS and use the Eon Flute to find a Mirage Island, could be immediately there, could take a few days. Trust me, Mikey.
I mean, that would be cool, but how much of the game you have to play to get it, doesn't seem worth it, which is a shame, cause as Mikey said, it's amazzzzzing
bro only the realest of ogs remember the feeling when a new pokemon talk came out. i always go back and watch them time to time and its amazing to see how much mikey has grown.
There's always that one pokemon that stands out from the others no matter how bad their type's pokemon are. Thank you for making me famous in the comments, I'm not sure yet if I deserve it lol
Vikavolt was actually one of my mainstay team members during my Sword playthrough. Its combination of Charge and Thunderbolt with Bug Buzz and Leech Life made it incredibly durable while also being able to dish out crazy damage thanks to holding Silverpowder.
That's why I really like these kinds of videos, we get to see a peek into what Mikey tends to go for in the games, but also just what he likes in a Pokémon
Fun random fact: The first part of Yveltal’s name “Yvel” is derived from the word “Evil” which is perfect as a dark type Pokemon since the ( dark ) type is actually called the ( Evil ) type in the Japanese versions of the games :)
"Every time I see Metagross, I think about how cool it would be to have another pseudo legendary that's not Dragon type" Tyranitar: Am I a JOKE to you?
I'm surprised his favourite psychic pokemon wasn't Drowzee. Edit: To all the people saying that the joke is annoying, this comment was posted 2 months ago when the joke was very new and funny
See the logic applied to Rayquaza is the reason I absolutely adore Pumpkaboo. Aside from dismal moveset and not-so-great stats, the idea of a Pokemon whose signature move is to ADD the Ghost type, a THIRD typing to a Pokemon, via the move Trick or Treat is pretty awseome. Not to mention it has hands-down one of the most beautiful and inspired shinies in existence.
Zebstrika could have been in Paldea in the same grassy plains where you can find Girafarig and Tauros. Would've fitted right in ! I've never played B&W so I never got to use one, but it seems like a fun mon ! Perhaps in a future gen they'll bring back the Safari Zone but actually make it a safari, with Pyroars, Girafarigs, Donphans, Zebstrika, Hippowdon, Flamigo, and so on !

As a fellow Pokefan who started in Gen 3, I also happen to feel like they had the best 3 starters. I almost always go for Treecko, because he was my first, but each of them are just as useful and well designed.
5:52 gotta love the relevant Ant-Man footage lmao Also, I appreciate the recognition Gyarados gets here for its performance in the Team Sky videos; I actually used a Gyarados in Pokemon Violet (I nicknamed him K'uk'ulkan) and he was easily the MVP of the team; he basically trashed everything in front of him
I really enjoy the videos where you update your older videos and re-do them like this. Keep doing that! Also, I'd love to see this video but with your LEAST favorite of each type.
I played Scarlet recently and went out of my way to use Armarouge. I thought it was just okay, didn't make nearly as much of a splash as my Ceruledge did in Violet at launch tbh. I think Ceruledge has a better color scheme and design and typing. But Armarouge I'd also p cool
6:00... fair, and respected. I'm not particularly a Grimsnarl fan, don't hate it, but not up there for fairies like Sylveon, Xerneas, or especially Gardevoir. I do love how in depth its lore is too along with its' counterpart Haterene, so much inspiration especially from Irish, Scottish, and Celtic mythology. Plus... I mean if you look at the origins of fairies, they're not all cute or pretty creatures. Technically goblins and ogres are fairies, gnomes and trolls, sometimes even spirits, like the Dullahan, a headless spirit that functions like the Grim Reaper, is a female spirit that carries the dead off in her carriage, and part of the inspiration behind America's Headless Horseman despite him being a dude, while Dullahan are always females. Fairies rarely are friendly too, and rarely the modern day depiction like your cute small Tinker Bells, she's more so a pixie (hence her dust being called pixie dust). Fairy was original pronounced Fae, and covered a wide variety of Celtic spirits and supernatural entities. They could range from small like a pixie or sprite, to human sized like their queen Titania, or big like... well Grimsnarl's Giga inspiration, the Goblin King from one of the stories of Fionn Macummhaill... yes his actual name though Fin McCool or Fin MaCool are 2 other names to go by, legendary celtic hero on the level of King Arthur (fun fact some think he could be Arthur... not many but a lot of their stories mirror each other like Siegfried and Sigurd, while some aspects differ). Forgot his name but Grimsnarl's size is probably a reference to that when it is a Giga, while Haterene is a mix of a witch, and Rapunzal, especially the emphasis when Giga being in a tower.
@@Amelia4111 If it's indicating possession it can, much like Chris' pet turtle, or would you rather I say its's?... which doesn't exist, that is an improper way to use the apostrophe. It is Grimsnarl's counterpart, Haterene is Grimsnarl's counterpart. His' counterpart since all Grimsnarls are male? Then that'd be assuming gender, wouldn't it? Which could upset all sorts of other people even if it is true all Grimsnarls are male, maybe someone out their views their Grimsnarl as a female. So really is this all you do? You like to correct people? Despite being wrong in this scenario? Again what does it accomplish? Especially since this comment is older than the last one, this one is 2 weeks old. Also again with the caps, the only people I know that use all caps are my grandmother because she's not computer savvy, or people that LIKE TO YELL ON THE INTERNET... so why are you caps locking? Do you enjoy scaring people away from Mikey's channel? Why bother reading my comments at all, if all you have to say are negative things. You have nothing else to say, nothing positive, just criticism, and those are the worst places on the internet. You ignore the entire comment, with nothing else of value to say, no other input, why bother? Especially if you know it's going to upset you reading it? Also why comment here vs my other comment? Because you got ganged up on? Because I called you out on your flaws? If the latter then why would you invite that here on another comment? Especially in the case of hey, it isn't a fiction or fantasy thing that doesn't exist that you're correcting me on like SKEPTILE or ANIHILAPE, and in this case, of real world words, grammar, and punctuation... YOU'RE ACTUALLY WRONG, because I used it correctly, hah. What do you have to say about that? I mean no ill will towards anyone, but I treat people how they must want to be treated, an eye for an eye as they say, fight toxicity with toxicity and wholesome with wholesome. I'm always up for fun conversations... yet you never provide fun, you're always serious, either old or someone with a complex. Which no offense, and I get, I have issues of my own, but you also need to know how to control them. What value is there in telling someone whose been out of high school for over a decade, done with college for about a decade... that their grammar or punctuation is wrong? If it is clearly I either 1, have issues of which you'd be offending, you don't know if I'm dyslexic or autistic (as I stated in my last one), I can assure you I have ADHD (of which I mentioned in the last one too). 2... it's a youtube comments section WHO THE HELL CARES?! WE'RE NOT IN ENGLISH CLASS AND I'M NOT GIVING A PRESIDENT SPEECH. 3 I'm actually right. 4, I have no value in it with my current situation, either job, or whatever it is I do, I'm not telling you. Any of these... or 5, some combination of 2+ of all of them, which frankly?... Kind of all of the above. I'd also bet money that you aren't going to comment again, either because you have nothing of value to present 1, 2 were put in your place, 3 too lazy to read everything I said like so many toxic people are (which also applies to 2, they'd rather shut up then nut up), or 4 if you do comment it's to prove I did something else wrong grammatically, or 5 because you don't want me to prove you right. I might not have majored in english, but I did in psychology and sociology, you're an easy book to read. I don't mean to come off as hostile, but unless you want to provide something more of value and fun, I think we're done here.
@@Amelia4111 No one cares, you aren't taking away from the conversation, you ain't providing anything, your not contributing, grammar is stupid, a construct of our own making where it has its's own flaws, likes if I had the power C wouldn't exist since the job can be done with K or S, the only time C would be needed is in the cases of Ch like in chucky. English is a terrible language and it's my 1st, language, what if you came across someone whose 1st language wasn't? You're insulting them, or if they're mentally handicapped, then you're insulting their intelligence trying to correct them of which I stated prior. So now your making I repeat myself. I'm somewhat saddened about Tinkaton not even making an honorable mention, but I know "to each their own." Yeah it may play into the whole "cutesy" fairy stereotype, but I believe it works for its design. It's this little cute, unassuming creature wielding a giant-ass hammer and is known for stripping armored flesh off steel types! And despite being stuck to the ground, she makes Corviknight fly away in fear! How freaking horrifyingly awesome is that?! It's only drawbacks are that its signature move can only be used every other turn and she's not very speedy. But given how strong the move is, the stab typing, and how physically strong Tinkaton is, you're gonna be serving a lot of 1 hit KO's for the drawback to even matter. Oh and she can learn Swords Dance as well, so you can use a great setup move. Also, it may not be the fastest mon, but she is quite bulky for it to matter much. In my playthrough she could tank a hit rather well (only being outshined by my Bellibolt). I essentially had 2 tanks facing the more challenging fights. It's quickly becoming my favorite fairy type.
I always try to have the team of my favorite pokemon all together and hopefully once we get DLC I'll be able to assemble it again, but Tinkaton has already booted Haxorus off the team.
I like the cute pink fairy type trend (I even _love_ Aromatisse and I’m really sad its so hated 😭) - I just don’t like the Tinkaton line design as a pokemon. It’s powerful, the hammer is cool if it wasn’t part of a living creature, and I think it would be fine in a different series… I just don’t like humanoid mons at all, and I think the concept is really dumb. Even Tinkaton separated from its* hammer doesn’t look like a pokemon to me. (I would say in that state it has the same problems as Gothita and Smoochum, who I also hate, but there’s still something especially off about it that makes me like it the least of the three by a wide margin.) I was honestly FLOORED by how popular it is since I was expecting it to universally hated and touted as an example of the artists rUnNiNg oUt of IdEas or whatever, but you’re right-everyone has different tastes!
@@jasond.b-w Hey that's fair. I'm not particularly bothered by humanoid pokemon in general. That's always been a staple of pokemon and I doubt it will be going away anytime soon. If it's any consolation, I like Aromatisse more than the Slurpuff line. I feel like the Spritzy line just needs something else. Maybe a new Evo or a split evolution like the one designed by Truegreen7 a couple years back. In short Aromatisse is quite underwhelming for me.
"makes Corviknight fly away in fear" And yet in gameplay Corviknight completely walls Tinkaton. Unfortunate, considering Tinkaton is such a cool pokemon.. And despite its pokedex entry, it doesn't get the move Smack Down, either..
@@Dynacrown yeah that does suck from a game mechanic perspective, but I didn't really care about that as I'm just a casual player. The lore is still cool.
Love your videos, it was especially nice hearing a Pokémon talk reference, and although I really wish it could come back, although I know it probably won’t at this point (but if you did want to bring it back maybe you could have bulbasaur and squirtle host an episode of aspitapy)
9:24 Definitely gonna say I've been a fan of gogoat pretty much since I saw it. In the Spanish fan game Pokémon Opalo, it has the absolute most badass front sprite ever that makes it look so amazing and really does it justice. Also, in my main save on the fan game Pokémon Empire, which changes a ton of moves, pokemon, battle mechanics, etc. I had one that would just use a single set up move a few times and could sweep just about everything despite being grass ice type in a region where you can only use held items in trainer/gym/boss battles for healing/status recovery. It was/is an absolute truck of mass destruction in that fan game for the parts they had released while I was using it on my team, if you can manage to play around your enemy and set up
That Grunt Boi moment where he freaked out about his hat changing was hilarious. Anyway, I enjoyed your list. I'll list off my favorites later on in this comment. I'm not surprised to see Sceptile in this video. It's a good starter. I, too, feel like Vikavolt would've been better if it was naturally faster. I did enjoy using one in-game during Gen 7, though. Umbreon, Alolan Ninetales, Gyarados, Gliscor, and Armarouge are pretty good. Rayquaza, Metagross, and Swampert are definitely solid choices. Talonflame, Marshadow, and Gigalith are cool. Spheal is cute. Crobat is a good pick that has improved over the years. I wish that Zebstrika's move pool was better. I'm not sure what a regular evolution for it would be like. It needs moves like Trop Kick, Jump Kick, High Jump Kick, and Zing Zap. I also wish that Grapploct was better and a Fighting/Water type. They could've at least given it the Swift Swim ability. I've had a soft spot for Castform since I used one on my first playthrough of Ruby when I was younger. I wish that it had a Sandstorm form and improved stats. Below are my favorites of each type as of February 23, 2023: 1) Water=Blastoise -It's also my favorite Pokémon overall. 2) Fire=Typhlosion(both variants) -I'm not sure which one I like more. Otherwise, my other pick for my Number 1 favorite Normal type would be Obstagoon. 5) Flying=Staraptor, Togekiss, or Corviknight -If I can get my hands on Legends Arceus, I can say what I think about Hisuian Braviary and Enamorus. 6) Electric=Eelektross or Rotom -I'm curious to see if I like Hisuian Electrode and, if so, to what extent. 7) Bug=Heracross or Araquanid -I'm curious to see if I like Kleavor and, if so, to what extent. 8) Poison=Nidoking -Other favorites that I would consider in place of Nidoking are Sneasler(if I feel that way once I play Legends Arceus), Amped Form Toxtricity, Roserade, Revavroom, Salazzle, and Venusaur. 9) Ground=Swampert, Torterra, Nidoking, or Krookodile -I'm curious to see if I like Ursaluna and, if so, to what extent. 10) Rock=Tyranitar -Since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet, I'm not sure what I think about Hisuian Arcanine, Hisuian Avalugg, or Kleavor. 11) Fighting=Gallade, Hawlucha, Marshadow, Lucario, Blaziken, or Mienshao -I'm not sure about Annihilape or Iron Hands yet, plus I wanna try out Sneasler, Hisuian Decidueye 12) Psychic=Gardevoir -Metagross is a close second. Also, I'm curious to one day try out Hisuian Braviary and Wyrdeer. 13) Ice=Walrein -This could change, as I would need to use more often or try out Galarian Darmanitan, Alolan Ninetales, Avalugg(both variants), Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, Cetitan, and Baxcalibur. 14) Ghost=Rotom, Trevenant, Mimikyu, Chandelure, Marshadow, or Aegislash -This could change, as I would need to use evaluate or try out Skeledirge, Ceruledge, Annihilape, Gholdengo, Houndstone, Flutter Mane, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Zoroark, and Basculegion. 15) Dragon=Latios, Rayquaza, Garchomp, or Kalosian Goodra -This could change. I still want to try out Kingdra and Hisuian Goodra. 16) Dark=Krookodile -I would put Tyranitar here, but if I could only have one Pokémon represent a favorite of one type, then I'd list Tyranitar as my favorite Rock type and Krookodile as my favorite Dark type. That said, I do want to try out Hisuian Samurott some day. I also need to think about how I feel about Kingambit, Meowscarada, Lokix, Roaring Moon, Brute Bonnet, Bombirdier, Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu. 17) Steel=Metagross -I need to try out Hisuian Goodra to see if I like it and, if so, to what extent. 18) Fairy=Mawile -Other Pokémon that I would've considered are Gardevoir, Togekiss, and Shiinotic. I don't know how I feel about Enamorus since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet.
Just so you know, Talonflame is really good in VGC right now. Usually setting Tailwind alongside Great Tusk or Garchomp while providing Taunt and Will-O-Wisp support.
Yeah, it was overshadowed by murkrow for a while though because of the same priority tailwind, except Murkow has haze, taunt, etc. Murkrow isn't near as good NOW though, so who knows
@@legendarytomatobird2816 It's strange though. Personally I've had more success in the current format with Murkrow over Talonflame but that's because I'm running a team were Indeedee/Armarouge and Tatsugiri/Dondozo keep ruining my day. I see a lot more Talonflame though.
@@jacobkohr7243 I actually see murkrow very little now, so little in fact that my dondozo team doesn't really bother trying to counter it. Fun random fact:
The first part of Yveltal’s name “Yvel” is derived from the word “Evil” which is perfect as a dark type Pokemon since the ( dark ) type is actually called the ( Evil ) type in the Japanese versions of the games :)
It's funny how Evil type doesn't have the same impact as Dark type does in English
But Yah-vil-tahl has nothing remotely sounding like evil...

6:00... fair, and respected.
ITS DOES NOT END WITH AN APOSTROPHE IF IT'S A PRONOUN!
@@Amelia4111
If it's indicating possession it can, much like Chris' pet turtle, or would you rather I say its's?... which doesn't exist, that is an improper way to use the apostrophe.

No one cares, you aren't taking away from the conversation, you ain't providing anything, your not contributing, grammar is stupid, a construct of our own making where it has its's own flaws, likes if I had the power C wouldn't exist since the job can be done with K or S, the only time C would be needed is in the cases of Ch like in chucky. English is a terrible language and it's my 1st, language, what if you came across someone whose 1st language wasn't? You're insulting them, or if they're mentally handicapped, then you're insulting their intelligence trying to correct them of which I stated prior.
So now your making I repeat myself. Also again these are fictional things that don't really exist, what value is there in correcting their misspelling? There is none. I right click on Grimsnarl as much as Grimmsnarl there is no auto correct function, because they ain't real words.

I’m using the seviian one in my hardcore run rn. It’s also really good
What
Why does it get Bolt Strike
Some of my favorites are weird, and some are very standard.

Poison - Sneasler
Ground - Krookodile

Ghost - Trevenant
Dragon - Baxcalibur

Steel - Metagross
Fairy - Mimikyu
(I would say in that state it has the same problems as Gothita and Smoochum, who I also hate, but there’s still something especially off about it that makes me like it the least of the three by a wide margin.)
I was honestly FLOORED by how popular it is since I was expecting it to universally hated and touted as an example of the artists rUnNiNg oUt of IdEas or whatever, but you’re right-everyone has different tastes!
"makes Corviknight fly away in fear"
And yet in gameplay Corviknight completely walls Tinkaton.
Mikey needs to do a play through with a Tinkaton so that he can love them like we do
Love your videos, it was especially nice hearing a Pokémon talk reference, and although I really wish it could come back, although I know it probably won’t at this point (but if you did want to bring it back maybe you could have bulbasaur and squirtle host an episode of aspitapy)
That is a god tier idea 😌

Definitely gonna say I've been a fan of gogoat pretty much since I saw it.
It was/is an absolute truck of mass destruction in that fan game for the parts they had released while I was using it on my team, if you can manage to play around your enemy and set up
Love these videos, keep them coming🙂

Below are my favorites of each type as of February 23, 2023:
1) Water=Blastoise
-It's also my favorite Pokémon overall.
2) Fire=Typhlosion(both variants)
-I'm not sure which one I like more. Hopefully I can get my hands on Legends Arceus so I can say whether I like the Hisuian variant or the Johtonian variant more.
3) Grass=Rillaboom
-Although, since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet, I'm not sure what I think about Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Lilligant, or Hisuian Electrode.
4) Normal=Staraptor
-Although, since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet, I'm not sure what I think about Hisuian Zoroark, Wyrdeer, or Ursaluna. Otherwise, my other pick for my Number 1 favorite Normal type would be Obstagoon.
5) Flying=Staraptor, Togekiss, or Corviknight
-If I can get my hands on Legends Arceus, I can say what I think about Hisuian Braviary and Enamorus.
6) Electric=Eelektross or Rotom
-I'm curious to see if I like Hisuian Electrode and, if so, to what extent.
7) Bug=Heracross or Araquanid
-I'm curious to see if I like Kleavor and, if so, to what extent.
8) Poison=Nidoking
-Other favorites that I would consider in place of Nidoking are Sneasler(if I feel that way once I play Legends Arceus), Amped Form Toxtricity, Roserade, Revavroom, Salazzle, and Venusaur.
9) Ground=Swampert, Torterra, Nidoking, or Krookodile
-I'm curious to see if I like Ursaluna and, if so, to what extent.
10) Rock=Tyranitar
-Since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet, I'm not sure what I think about Hisuian Arcanine, Hisuian Avalugg, or Kleavor.
11) Fighting=Gallade, Hawlucha, Marshadow, Lucario, Blaziken, or Mienshao
-I'm not sure about Annihilape or Iron Hands yet, plus I wanna try out Sneasler, Hisuian Decidueye
12) Psychic=Gardevoir
-Metagross is a close second. Also, I'm curious to one day try out Hisuian Braviary and Wyrdeer.
13) Ice=Walrein
-This could change, as I would need to use more often or try out Galarian Darmanitan, Alolan Ninetales, Avalugg(both variants), Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, Cetitan, and Baxcalibur.
14) Ghost=Rotom, Trevenant, Mimikyu, Chandelure, Marshadow, or Aegislash
-This could change, as I would need to use evaluate or try out Skeledirge, Ceruledge, Annihilape, Gholdengo, Houndstone, Flutter Mane, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Zoroark, and Basculegion.
15) Dragon=Latios, Rayquaza, Garchomp, or Kalosian Goodra
-This could change. I still want to try out Kingdra and Hisuian Goodra.
16) Dark=Krookodile
-I would put Tyranitar here, but if I could only have one Pokémon represent a favorite of one type, then I'd list Tyranitar as my favorite Rock type and Krookodile as my favorite Dark type.
17) Steel=Metagross
-I need to try out Hisuian Goodra to see if I like it and, if so, to what extent.
18) Fairy=Mawile
-Other Pokémon that I would've considered are Gardevoir, Togekiss, and Shiinotic. I don't know how I feel about Enamorus since I haven't played Legends Arceus yet.
I actually read this whole comment lol.
I'm more concerned about clear smog on amongus (no this was not an accident), because that's more common.
But you always want to have 2 different possible setups so that your opponent doesn't know which to expect.
