what a beautiful morning.. it's good that you can easily find/buy a live shrimp. here in my town its so hard to find and if I find definitely expensive. your right sometime you end up and go home without nothing but that's the life.. A TRUE ANGLER NEVER GIVE UP. take care have a nice day and god bless bords.
@@HeySkipper wow.. I didn't expect that your going to ask me or where having a conversation even a small chat. I really appreciate it and thank you. I used dead shrimp and removed the shell/skin that's what local anglers do also.
in that type of water u need to be wade fishing, early around 5 when its high tide, using 6 pd test on a 7 ft rig, bait caster and a hook and a croaker thats it! ulimit out before 12
Hey Brandon...you sell your salted baits, the next time you go fishing with dead shrimp, you should salt them whole the night before. That should make them less mushy and able to stay on the hook better...and hey, there's a new product for you also...whole salted shrimp...just a thought , and good luck man, good vids too.
Fish have color vision and I've used shrimp partly cooked to give pink color. I save the raw shrimp legs to use on Sabiki rig hooks. The thin shell covering on the legs also helps them stay on the hook better.
Speckled trout usually run in schools of similar size. If you're catching a lot of small ones you probably won't catch big ones at the same spot. In the past people used to fish on the bottom with dead shrimp and still caught speckled trout. But you also caught a lot of catfish.
I have had good fishing with velveeta cheese for bait. Like the kind you use for nachos. Those trout hit that like crazy 😅 no one else was catching fish except for me and my little brother
Great video again. I would say catching a lot of small ones doesn't tell much about how well a rig works or a bait works. I do like both using the same type of float rig and also other types of float rigs when fishing with boat dead and live bait. I also like bottom fishing, but then I most of the time like to use dead bait. The method I by far prefer when using a live bait, is by using the live bait only. No float and no sinker. I use a rod for light cast weights and a thin braided line with a flurocarbon leader. What you consider light and thin, all depends on the live bait weight and the size of the fish you are after of course. This let the live bait act as natural as possible and it is extremely good at catching fish. Specially the bigger ones. I use this method no matter if it is in rivers for Brown Trout, in lakes for Pike, at shore for Sea Bass or pelagic fish in deep sea waters. I use it for any kinds of fish that wants to eat a nightcrawler, shrimp, crayfish, fish or whatever live bait is heavy and solid enough to cast.
🤣🤣🤣 if you hear the music starting @ 00:31 reminds me of Alanis Morrisette "one hand in my pocket!" I did a sing along on my way home! Awesome catches guys...you guys need to head back to Sebastian Inlet and get some beasts. The weather is going to be amazing the rest of the week. A tip on shrimp thats very effective...break off the tail on live or dead shrimp...use a #1 J hook or 1/0 circle hook...and you'll see if you place the hook like if you were to use a texas worm rig setup just behind it's back it will become a weedless setup plus it lasts longer. These were tips coming from Keywest boat captains. Works amazing! I've caught massive fish using that style and your hook up ratio will improve.
I live in FL and there is a little fishing spot where the tides are strong. When the water is low and flowing, the fish bite better on a float with an live shrimp, and when the tide is high or slack a bottom rig with a dead shrimp works best. And there are times when it doesn't matter the tides or what you do, nothing bites. Thanks for sharing! Love your content!
Not too long along ago I went fishing with a buddy. He used live shrimp and killed the trout, i used gulp shrimp and killed the flounder. Your video was like dejavu lmao !!!
Those specks make some great Tablefare As Well , Of Course We Have Slot Sizes ,I've seen them On bottom,And I've Seen Em Like Your Found Them Absolutely Nailing The "Popping Corks" Like You were using ,I've fished Artificial Bait under those corks as well and smoked them , Surprised ya didn't find one Red Fish 🎣 , Flounder Are my favorite To Do A Dinner Cook up With , Delicious 😋🐟🎣 , Shrimp are just the natural food source for these Fish So It's as Good choice of bait Anyday ,As a Rule Live Is Usually better but not always available , Good Job , Tight Lines To Ya 🦈🎣,,That's Dinner 🦈 🎣😋
it's how you bait your hook. don't really need to set hook if you bait it right. they will set hook themselves. setting the hooks will usually rip the hook out. half the time. the trick is to hold it steady and let the fish tighten up the line against you.
I prefer a bottom rig with live prawn mainly cause I fish deeper water but also because the current and prawn will swim either into the structure and get stuck or out of the good spots
I prefer the visual aspect of the float. Probably because I'm an artist and a photographer. I think the float method creates more atmosphere and enjoyment. I've never used shrimp. I'll try this in April. ☘👍 In (Cornwall, UK).
Dude I love your videos! I’m leaving Sunday for a stay in fort Myers and wish I had ordered some salted baits from you but I don’t think they would get there in time to use them, I’m only there till the 18th. If you feel I’m wrong then PM me and I’ll put an order in. Keep up the great content.
Lovely video, I prefer bottom fishing and for sure live shrimp as bait. My question: Why do you keep throwing back the fish you catch into the water? The fish did not seem to be that small. What is the law in the State of Florida, regarding the size/weight of a fish to keep? Best regards from Alexandria, Egypt. P.S. Here I fish mainly in the Mediterranean.

dude makes those too for sell. lol. salted bait doesn't attract fish as well.
Make sure to wet your hands before handling the seatrout, it can harm the fish if you remove it's protective slime

Do u have to use in-line circle hooks for using bait to fish where u are ?? In Nj, the regulation started Jan 1st 2021
I work right down the road from where you launched. Is using the float rig kind of similar to using a popping cork, just less action?
Don't know where they can even be bought if they can here but I do wonder how well live shrimp would work on the eastern shore for trout
Live shrimp are used to catch speckled trout on the eastern shore.
