The Creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, has sadly passed away at age 68. Rest in Peace, Legend. Thank you for everything. Music credit by ByRy. Tribute footage by Game Arts. This was a tough video to make.

Really makes one reflect on everything. Normally I don't comment on when artists die, but Toriyama really did shape many of our childhoods. I made life long friendships through DBZ, pursued communities, games, and content inspired by DBZ, etc. Just thinking of the sheer scale of memories and inspiration this man left in his wake is mind boggling, even right down to the most un-notable ESF player. Using this comment to just show solidarity with you guys. As much as I adore Toriyama, I keep my best memories with the fans that will ensure Toriyama lives on. You know the man will truly never die when even parodies of his work have cultural influence.

Don't be sad, I know its hard, DB means everything to me too but think how Toriyama shaped our life's, so good memories across anime, manga, video games, friends... Although i didn't grow up with dragon ball in my childhood, i was really into super mario bros z. Right now, I am looking at my collection of Dragon Ball figures/statues. I will always be forever thankful for Akira Toriyama's work and what it meant to me in my childhood and the years after. R.I.P Akira Toriyama.
I've never really felt affected by the passing of a celebrity, but in this case, I'll sure make a well deserved exception. Dragonball Z was my childhood, my very heart and soul. Back in the day, nothing would beat coming home from school and watching the day's episode. I can never thank Akira Toriyama enough for the stories and lessons he gave us all. Lessons of compassion, confidence, fighting for what's right and never giving up, no matter what. The world has said farewell to a true legend. R.I.P Akira, you will be missed ❤💪
Never would've even touched anime if it wasn't for Dragon Ball. It's really the only anime that I ever loved, I tried liking others like naruto and one piece but nothing ever hit the same. Started my journey with watching OG Dragon ball, I remember waiting so patiently for "Super saiyan" to show up 😂 I was 10-11 years old, I'm 18 now. Toriyama was really too young to die despite how old you think 68 is. I know dragon ball will live forever so we don't have to worry about that🙂
I remember when i was a little kid, waking up early to watch dragon ball kai, it was awe-inspring and incredible, and i also js finished watching db super for the first time, so i was absolutely devastated when i saw the news of Akira Toriyama passing away last week. Fly high in Otherworld, u deserve it for all the hard work you've done, and for making anime what it is... Goodbye, Akira Toriyama... 😢
When I was a about 7 in 97’ my mom instead of grounding me would punish me by saying I couldn’t watch dragon ball so if I was acting out I’d lose my privilege to watch the nightly episode. This shit feels like that 😩
Nice message? The franchise inspired me for hard work as an autistic kid/new born( All fiction) ! But also that plot holes 🕳️ are trash( not touched on ) They will soon .
My childhood would have been emptier and more boring if it wasn't for Dragon ball, and i was lucky that it was shown in the right order in my country, so i grew up with Goku. So thank you to the man who created him, rest in peace Akira Toriyama🙏

The impact this man left is unmeasurable, so many people grew up watching Dragon Ball like me. I'm from Panama and i can say that i love this IP, master Toriyama will live now through his stories and it's a very difficult thing to process at the moment. Muchas gracias por todo sensei Q.D.E.P. 🐉✨🕊❤.
RIP the goat. I would have never got into anime if it wasnt for him. I remember as a kid watching Goku transform into a super saiyan for the first time after Krillin died. That scene motivated me to push through my limits and made me realize I can always do better. I can't even process this. RIP once again to the legend Akira Toriyama who made mine and many other childhoods great. Im turning 17 next week and am still reading the manga, I never plan on stopping Dragonball. It will forever be a part of me. I hope one day I can meet Akira in heaven and thank him face to face for everything he has done. You have my gratitude and millions of others across the world 😇😇😇.
I think the biggest lesson Dragon Ball thought me was mercy and kindness, understanding that acting like a bad person who just lusts for revenge wouldn't make me any better that the person who did something to me. And that everyone is good at heart, some can be saved but some can't. Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama, you might have been a stranger for most of us, but your story of dragon ball touched us in a way that only few things can or will.
i first got introduced to dragon ball through mobile games around two/three years ago. now, currently, i've watched all the dbz movies, have read all the manga from the start to finish of dragon ball to dragon ball super and own a large collection of dragon ball related stuff (still working on watching the dbz show itself; still working on a way to watch all of it haha). all i can say is: i wish i had been introduced to it much, much earlier and had the experience that everyone else did growing up. i don't know why but i just know for a fact that i would have been a much worse person without the contribution of his work
I was never the biggest DB fan but I still remember the episodes up til the end of the Buu saga. It was big part of my freshman year, even if the episodes were reruns. Akria will be missed and DB will live on! I just hope whoever picks up his legacy gives the series the proper respect and dedication it deserves in its creation. Anything less, well, they best not have any social media presence or personal info easy to get ahold of... There are some fans out there who will take any slight against DB way too personally and seriously.
Sad to see that one of the greatest creators that brought me one of the greatest animes of all time Dragon Ball I can remember growing up with in the 90s and early 2000s has passed away. Akira Toriyama will always be a legend in the anime community my prayers and thoughts go out to him on his new Journey with God as well as his family who were left behind he will always be missed rest in peace Akira Toriyama.

Although i didn't grow up with dragon ball in my childhood, i was really into super mario bros z. I got into real dragon ball through Kai in high school, then i immediately binged all of OG dragon ball.
I now have the whole series sitting on my shelf- og dragon ball, z, gt, super, bardock and trunks specials, and all the movies. Even got season 2 of kai cuz chris ayres was just that good as frieza. First takahashi, and now toriyama. This sucks. Rip
We as a fandom have to be here for each other right now.
R.I.P Toriyama you made my childhood great
R.I.P. Akira Toriyama your a legend
Hands up for the spirit bomb, bois 🙌
Rip Akira Toriyama
RIP tori😭 you made people's lives amazing ❤
Its been hours and i still cant believe it
Akira Toryiama.. Rest in Peace ❤
Rest in hell
Toriyama gave us the greatest Anime ever made, and likely the greatest that will ever be made. His work is what got me and many Americans into anime, and Japanese culture in general. For sure an important name in the history of entertainment. Not a bad legacy to leave behind. RIP
Rip Akira Toryama
R.I.P. Akira Toriyama
Can never forget the feeling of watching the cell saga culminating on TV and geeking out with my boys at school the next day. This man touched so many of us, creating communities and making us smile. Rest easy now, Toriyama. You are number one.
I’m nearly 40 and this has knocked me for six.
When i was about 8 a friend had been on holiday to France and bought me a french edition of OG Dragonball as he thought id like the art style as it was similar to my own.
Toriyama has provided me with so much entertainment and inspiration over the years that i am so grateful for.
The other day my 8 year old son has just finished reading all the DBZ manga with me. 😢
The end of Z has always made me tear up, bit it gonna hit so much harder from now on.😢😢😢
RIP Akira Toriyama
Arigato
Thank you for making this video
I do believe his light and legacy live on our hearts forever. Blessed us for live on this time, this era for knowing all his amazing works. Thank you Toriyama sensei. Thank you my role model 😢 thank you legend!
68. He got to live a full life, and I'm sure he enjoyed it. Pray for his family.
I'm guessing a accident happened 😢
@@BonesBones-qx9jd Acute subdural hematoma, a bleeding in the brain, usually caused by severe head injuries.
@@BonesBones-qx9jdHe had a blood clot in his brain. Brain blood cots are usually treatable if you take a special type of injection called "ischaemic" also known as 'clot-busting' where a doctor would inject something to you that would help the brain restore blood flow back to normal.
@@thebarn8031 can an accident like falling and hitting your head also lead to that?
@@BonesBones-qx9jd Yes.
I am true Dragon ball Z fan and its my one of the favourite anime and will be there until I die
I did not enjoy others part of the dragon ball franchise but I am still grateful for those may he rest in peace 🙏🏿
The living legend and always be . TQ Akira sensei.
Rest easy legend. 🤍🕊️
3:23-3:33 and yet, people all over the world remember and are intimately familiar with and are extremely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING Dragon Ball WAY more than they've ever been about Dr. Slump. Myself included.
i never expected it to happen so soon
Watching dragon ball made me watch anime, if it wasn't for watching goku turn ssj3 (that was my earliest memory for some reason) I wouldn't watch a whole slew of products that are in my top 10 fav shows. Thank you and RIP the legend, Akira Toryiama
Be Kind, Be Strong, those were the values I carry with me because of Dragon Ball and Goku.
When I was a kid i was bullied a lot, and thanks to the show i learned to stand for myself also start doing it for others was well.
As 34 year old adult now. People described as someone that looks mean but say that i am really sweet when they get to know me.
Be kind to other people you will turn enemies into allies like Goku did
Be strong to better yourself and protect the things you care about.
And always go further beyond your limits
From this point onwards, watching Dragon Ball Daima will just be a painful reminder of Akira Toriyama being dead and gone for good.😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
The biggest reason l started working out when l bullied for being weak and skinny was because of Dragon ball, I'm going to be listening to makafushigi adventure all day. RIP Akira toriyama G.O.A.T. 😢😢😥😥🥀🥀🥀🥀🥕🥕🥕🥕
Akira Toriyama
Best manga artist
Inspiration
Best story Writer
And many many more
Rest in peace 🕊🌹
I hope Toyotaro does what he started good
Akira is the reason why my GOAT Tite kubo...stuck I. THERE. 02' super saiyan was a 🎉🎉
This is one of those few that actually hurts. RIP Toriyama, and thank you for blessing our childhoods with your imagination.
Where to start
That childhood giddyness to rush to watch the cell saga on tv
The broken as hell dragon ball mugen games
Fighterz tenkaichi even hyper dragon ball with its fan ref
That dread and anger as a kid when krillin died and goku ran to piccolo
Screaming to be ssj endless Kamehamehas
As an artist back then i learned anatomy from wanting to draw these cool characters
That inspiration seeing heroes win
So much to say yet so little words to express , when stan lee passed back then it was the same an inner void which i cant explain
He'll live on with each dragon ball fans experiences , may his family have the strength to bear this huge loss
I was drawn to tears 😢😢
RIP Akira Toryiama, You will always be one of the greatest people in pop culture history. ❤
From '99 to this day, I've been a fan of DBZ. I, honestly, thought they were joking about his death. Then I looked it up, and saw it was true. I literally wanna cry right now. Whoever will be in control of DBZ, I pray that they follow his humongous legacy that he perfectly made.
RIP Akira Toriyama Gone, but NEVER forgotten.
I Just HOPE i would be allowed to meet you in Heaven. Before my final GoodBye to you Toriyama Sensei
Right now, I am looking at my collection of Dragon Ball figures/statues. I will always be forever thankful for Akira Toriyama's work and what it meant to me in my childhood and the years after.
R.I.P Akira Toriyama.
I am who i am because of him. He is passion personified. Thank you Akira. And thank you Scolar, you helped make me a better man.
Dragonball Z has literally kept me from killing sucide serveral times. Not to meation to help when i feel like giving up. RIP
I'm literally crying dragon ball was my life i was raised by it when my parents wouldn't 😭😭😭😭😭
I feel ya, been at work, grave yard shift, trying not to cry all night.
Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger can never be played the same again..
When Goku first became Super Saiyan and his son Gohan.
Well for me, dragon ball inspired me to become an artist, im not amazing at it, but hes the reason why i draw art and dragon ball specifically, RIP
Rip to Akira toriyama he will never be forgotten 💔🕊️😭 he really made my childhood what are him I don't think I would have never got into anime I am truly hurt off this
I just watched a video where gokus asks shenglong to bring back "his creator" and shenglong says "that wish is beyond my power to do so" and that shit wrecked me.... Rest in peace to the guy that made my childhood such a blast 😢😢😢
Rest in piece Akira Toriyama 🙏🏽enjoy that walk on Snake Way and tell King Kai we said hi 👋🏽
I was doing ... ok-ish ... till the tribute. Ugh, the world lost a great one.
Rest in Peace Akira Toriyama, you might have been a stranger for most of us, but your story of dragon ball touched us in a way that only few things can or will.
i first got introduced to dragon ball through mobile games around two/three years ago. now, currently, i've watched all the dbz movies, have read all the manga from the start to finish of dragon ball to dragon ball super and own a large collection of dragon ball related stuff (still working on watching the dbz show itself; still working on a way to watch all of it haha). all i can say is: i wish i had been introduced to it much, much earlier and had the experience that everyone else did growing up. i don't know why but i just know for a fact that i would have been a much worse person without the contribution of his work
When seen the thumbnail I instantly felt grief… I didn’t want to find out if I were right….. I had no idea ….until we meet again my friend. ✌️
Thank you for your words and that beautiful little slideshow at the end.
His legacy is immense and eternal.
This is rough, but thankfully he inspired a family of fandom to help us lean on each other through it.
Arigato, Toriyama-sensei.
A humble man, dare i say a nobody held a pen and became the source of inspiration for many
Rip Akira Toriyama
I still can't believe it, Rest in Peace. 🙏
Can I say the thumbnail made me thought you were quitting youtube
Wow this is crazy. He be missed. RIP
Toriyama made anime and manga not just a weeb thing.... he made it a human thing.
EVERYONE LEND ME YOUR RESPECTS
Edit: yes this is a reference to what goku says as tribute to pay respects to toriyama
